Katalina's POV- January 2017

I took a bite of my taco and looked at Martin when he cleared his throat.

"How was New Years with the Seager's?"

I reached for my water and took a small sip.

"A little too cold for my liking, but I had fun" I said.

He nodded.

"Ale was telling me that you don't think Momma Seager liked the idea of you going out of state for Grad School?"

"She did not" I confirmed.

"No offense, but it's not her business"

"I couldn't exactly tell her that" I told him.

"It's not even Corey's business"

I shrugged lightly and took a bite of my taco.

"He does know that, right?"

I nodded.

"Yes he does" I said.

Corey helped me research programs and he made it real clear that he would be willing to do long distance.

"She does know that they have to accept you to those programs, right?"

I laughed.

"I'm still hurt that you're not going to tonight's game"

I really tried to open my schedule, but it did not go my way.

"I have to meet up with my advisor and I'm on duty. Trust me, I try to get out of it to go" I said.

He smiled.

"I'm playing with you, how's you thesis going?"

"I hate my adviser" I stated.

He laughed.

"Why?"

"I give her rough drafts and she makes them bleed. I've rewritten the introduction at least 50 times by now" I said.

"Is it your best work?"

"No" I admitted.

He nodded.

"I hate to admit this but I have so much time right now that Corey isn't here" I stated.

He laughed.

"Ale tells me the same thing, so he shouldn't be offended"

"I've blown him off for at least a whole week" I told him.

He shrugged.

"Do you text?"

I nodded.

"Then you're not blowing him off"

"If you insist" I said.

He nodded and took a bite of his taco.

"So we started looking at houses"

I looked at him.

"Why?" I asked.

Alex was an architectural engineer; she could literally design the house of her dreams.

"Well we kinda need a place to live in once we're married"

I rolled my eyes and he grinned. Martin Jones was a sarcastic asshole, which I was thankful for. He was going to be a great brother in law.

"We're looking at properties as well"

I nodded.

"You could have started there" I told him.

He grinned.

"Did Alex get back from Nashville?" I asked.

"She get's back tomorrow"

I nodded.

"She found a wedding dress"

I smiled.

"I know, it looks stunning" I said.

He frowned.

"She won't let me see a picture of it"

"It's bad luck" I told him.

"She won't even let me imagine it"

I laughed.

"How does the dress look like?"

"It's white" I started.

He frowned.

"You will see it on your wedding day" I told him.

He grinned.

"So she told you"

They were getting married in July.

"Of course she did, I was asked to be a bridesmaid" I said.

He chuckled and nodded.

"I'm happy for both of you" I told him.

It was true, I was incredibly happy for both of them. My sister was finally living her happily ever after.
