Chapter Thirty Four

My first stop had been Target. I still didn't know what I was having but I did need a few basic things for when I brought my little boy or girl home. I stocked up on baby wipes, diapers, baby washes & lotions, one-sies, breast pads, blankets-basically anything I would really need. I also grabbed up some laundry detergent and fabric softener and some things for Will's.

Time had flown by so fast. It seemed like I had only spent an hour in Target, when I had actually spent 3. I only had 2 hours to go grocery shopping, and I made sure once I got to the store, I bought damn near everything. Will was a guy who liked to eat a lot, but his cabinets and refrigerator were EMPTY. No wonder he never gained any weight and kept that magnificently sculptured body of his.

By the time I had finished, the backseat and the trunk of Will's Range Rover were full. I even had stuff in the front seat.

I pulled up to the office at around 4:46. I had about 14 minutes to mingle with Sammie before Will got off.

"You make it so hard to fire you when you're always asleep at work." I joked sarcastically walking into her cubicle, as she lifted her head up from a pile of paperwork that covered her desk.

"Oh my God! When did you get out of the hospital?"

"Yesterday."

"Why didn't you call me?"

"I was so tired. And I had an argument with Sean so I really wasn't up for it. What's up with you?"

"This." she said blandly, looking at the massive amount of work on her desk.

"I've been here everyday, even on the weekends, trying to finish this. But it keeps piling up and piling up. Will's gonna seriously get beat up if he doesn't help me." she said as I laughed. "Wait a second, I know you're not here for me. You would've called first." she said squinting her eyes causing me to laugh. Her nosiness amazed me sometimes.

"What if I wanted to surprise you?"

"Oh please. You and surprises don't mix. So what happened now? I know who you're here for."

"I just came to pick him up."

"Pick him up? Wait, what am I missing here? Last I heard, you two just started talking again."

"Yeah well, I'm kinda staying there temporarily." I said looking down at my feet.

"So you're back together?" she asked opening a bag of chips.

"Not exactly. He's just helping me out. I'm not exactly ready to go back home Sammie."

"Yeah but eventually you'll have to, unless you and Will work things out."

"I can't. He cheated on me twice. I can't trust him. How do I know he won't do it again?"

"You don't. But you two need to figure something out. Everyone makes mistakes, Jas. I know you two still have feelings for each other. There's no denying that. Especially with the way he acted at Butch's engagement dinner when he found out about you and Sean. Just talk about it at least." she said sincerely. I smiled and gave her a hug before saying my goodbye's.

I made my way through the office and over towards Will's office. I noticed a young lady seated at what used to be my old desk.

"Oh, hi, can I help you?" she asked, her voice high pitched and happy.

"I'm here to see Will." I said as she smiled and looked from my face and down to my stomach. Her mouth formed a frown.

"He's in a meeting right now actually. You can have a seat over there and wait." she said pointing over to the waiting area.
