Christmas Eve

"Tonz! Where are the gifts that we bought in Manila?!" his manang's voice woke him from sleep. It's the 24th, and he's enjoying a sweet slumber, but his sister chose this time to torment him.

"What? Anong gifts?" he said groggily.

"The gifts that I asked you to pack in the luggage, the gifts that we both for the family, the gifts we bought from our hard-earned money..." she said dramatically.

"Yeah, uhm, nandyan, sa black luggage..."

"So ako na mag wrap nito, since you don't have the skills. And I hate you again for making me do things last minute..."

"Sorry na manang, I slept late, kasi they forwarded a script, sorry na..."

"Sige na sige na, wait, is this yours or dad's?" she raise a small paperbag, with Montblanc written on it.

His minded didn't register it at first, but when he saw his sister smile upon reading the tag, he got up and grabbed it from her.

"Uyyy, may pa exchange gift na pala kayo ni Cie Cie, ano yan?"

"Manang, quite ka lang, marinig ka ni mommy at Aicee."

"Let's open it na! Excited ako eh."

"Wow, sayo binigay manang? Mag boyfriend ka na para may magbigay din sayo."

"So girlfriend mo si Cie Cie kaya sya may gift sayo, ganun ba?"

"I mean, sa friends mo ikaw manghingi ng gifts." his face all red.

"Hmp, sungit! Ask ko na lang si Jacinda kung anong gift nya sayo. Sa Twitter pa hahaha..."

"Wait, wait, dito ka na nga, open na natin. Galing mag blackmail talaga."

"I can't help it, my curiosity is killing me."

He checked the tag, it read,

He felt tingly, he couldn't open it fast enough, his sister is eagerly waiting beside him.

He opened the paperbag, he found a long case, he knew in his heart that whatever the content is, he will surely treasure it.

He opened the case, and he found himself staring at a very elegant writing instrument. It's body is silver but the top shows a blue color. He remember seeing it in a magazine.

His sister squealed, "Omg! That's like a really fancy pen. She wouldn't give you one if you're not special."

"Seryoso? I mean, this is really nice, but I don't think she will put so much effort naman."

"Believe me, you're special or, she's just rich, hahaha."

"Manang, we're friends, ok?"

"That's why you gave her that gift? Whatever it is, your feelings are mutual, I'm not telling you this because I'm your sister. Just my intuition talking. Saka hello, it's Montblanc, that's a nice brand, my guess is it's around 20k give or take."

He just shook his head. Why would Cie Cie give him an expensive gift?
