Angelica sighed and took the tea. She grabbed another mint leaf and set it in. Imagine if I told her I knew about her and Alexander! She would have my head for spying! My thoughts quickly returned to C/N.

C/N is never going to forgive me! He hates me and will marry someone that deserves him! I wiped away some of my tears and sighed. Angelica came back and I sipped the tea. It was perfect. I showed this by taking another sip.

She sat next to me again. "Who do you think, out of the four of us sisters, will get married first?" I asked. "Beside myself because of father's rule of course." I added quickly. She laughed lightly.

"I don't know. Maybe Elizabeth." She said in hinting tones. Was Alexander going to ask her? "Or you." I countered. She shook her head. "Maybe." I said. She shrugged. I heard a scream and we shot up. I downed my tea before rushing out of the room with Angelica.

Everyone was staring at Elizabeth, who had tears in her eyes. We rushed downstairs and to her sides. "What happened?" I asked. She handed me a letter from Alexander. Oh no. We all looked to the letter as I read it.

Dearest, Elizabeth
I have spoken with your father. We will be home within two days time. I have asked him a very important question, and he has granted me my wish. I asked him for your hand. I cannot wait to celebrate with you and see you again.
Yours,
A. Hamilton

God damned. I handed the letter to Angelica, who read it to my siblings. Everyone but Angelica and I cheered. I looked to Angelica, who looked to me. Confusion crossed her face. "That's amazing, Eliza." I said, kissing her cheek. "I'll be in my room picking a dress." I said. As I passed Angelica, I grabbed her arm and lead her upstairs.

We re-entered my room and she shut the door. "I'm happy for her." She said distantly. "Angelica, don't lie." I said carefully. Confusion and guilt covered her face.

"How do you kn- I mean, how do you mean?" She asked nervously. I scowled and left the room, her following. I went into her room and to her drawers. "Y/N! Don't!" She snapped. I opened them and pulled out a letter from Alexander.

"This! I know!" I snapped. She paled. I put the letter back and lead her to my room again. I opened my closet and knelt. I pulled out a box and opened it. It held Alexander's letters.

I handed her one and watched her. As her eyes scanned the letter, betrayal, confusion, anger, and resentment filled her face. She handed it back and I put them away.

"If he is sending us love letters, he can't marry Elizabeth!" I said quietly. Angelica folded her arms across her chest. "But we can't take him from her! She loves him, Y/N. If we take that away, she'll be a broken woman." She countered. She was right. Elizabeth was in complete adoration for Alexander.

I sighed and ran a hand through my H/C hair. "Fine fine. Maybe he will change." I said. She nodded and we left the room. A slow headache started to build and I groaned. Angelica laughed quietly and I shot her a glare.

We reached downstairs to find mother chatting with Elizabeth. "This is so sudden and so exciting!" She said to my sister. Elizabeth squealed and she read the letter again.

I fought a frown as we approached. "Y/N! Do you know what this means?" Mother asked. "You can finally marry C/N!!" I forced a smile. Just when my luck turns, it turns back again. Ugh.

"That's amazing!" Angelica said for me. "My sisters! I'm so proud!" She said. Elizabeth beamed with pride. We were on opposite sides of the relationship spectrum right now. She was happy and about to get married while C/N refuses to talk to me. I had to right him a letter. I ran to our supplies and gathered some.

My dearest, C/N
I understand that you are upset with me. I would be with you. I can't apologize enough. If you would just let me explain in person. It was all a huge misunderstanding. I will forever regret my foolishness.
Sincerely,
Y/F/I Schuyler
