Cynthia Rose stared at Esperanza blankly via the computer, then at Dr Kozak, then at Esperanza again.
In the meantime Dr Kozak had just stared back at Cynthia Rose, then at Esperanza, giving her a death glare.
"You heard what I said, Cynthia Rose!" Esperanza remarked really loudly for the world to hear. Not really though, but it felt like it. "I said go away!"
But Cynthia Rose didn't really say anything though, just sat there frowning, looking like she was about to cry although didn't.
"Wow... I'm sorry. I didn't realise that you didn't want me around," Cynthia whispered, falling really quiet straight afterwards.
Dr Kozak didn't say anything for a while, just kept on staring at Esperanza, and once Esperanza thought something and Dr Kozak had read her mind, he soon became really vexed at her due to what Esperanza had thought.
Dr Kozak: *turns to face Cynthia Rose* Uhm... Cynthia Rose is it okay if I kinda end the video chat for a minute?
Cynthia Rose: *kinda perplexed* Why?
Dr Kozak didn't say anything. He just shot Esperanza an agitated stare, then stared back at Cynthia again.
Dr Kozak: I need to talk to Esperanza alone about something. Don't worry though. It'll be quick.
Cynthia Rose: Sure thing! How long will you guys take though?
Dr Kozak: Not sure... less than twenty minutes. But a lot more than five though.
Cynthia Rose: Uhm.... okay. I'll set a timer for twenty minutes on my phone and video chat you again when the timer has ran out.
Dr Kozak: Sure thing. Bye.
Cynthia Rose: Bye.
Then Dr Kozak pretty much ended the video chat as he turned to face Esperanza. Esperanza realised this.
Esperanza: Why did you end the video chat, sir?
Dr Kozak: Because you and I seriously need to talk.
Esperanza didn't reply. She couldn't really have come up with a reply anyway without really sounding downright stupid.
Or saying something that would have annoyed Dr Kozak to death or something.
Esperanza: Talk about what?
Dr Kozak: You'll find out. Won't you?
Then he just stared and stared at her until Esperanza became so low key uncomfortable that she looked away.
Dr Kozak: Sit.
Esperanza sat.
Dr Kozak: Not here!
Esperanza: *baffled* Why not?
Dr Kozak: I have claustrophobia. I don't like small spaces and I don't like it when people are standing too close to me.
Esperanza: Kinda explains why your laboratory is like the size of two bowling alleys!
Dr Kozak didn't reply. Just shot her a really maleficent look of death.
Esperanza: But if you don't want me to sit here then where do you want me to sit?
Silence.
Dr Kozak: Good question. I'd like you to sit over there.
He then pointed to a pink high chair located at the opposite side of where Dr Kozak and Esperanza were currently standing, Esperanza just rolling her eyes in return.
Esperanza: That's really far away.
Dr Kozak: Stop complaining. And no it's not.
Esperanza: Do I have to go over there?
Dr Kozak: Do you want me to laser beam you again?
Esperanza: No, not really actually.
Dr Kozak: *points to the pink high chair in indignation and says his next sentence through gritted teeth* Then listen to me, Esperanza.
Esperanza could tell that Dr Kozak wasn't playing games. Instantaneously, she had then stood up, walking over to the pink high chair, Dr Kozak following her straight afterwards.
Esperanza: *says this after they've both sat down* Are you going to start talking or what?
Dr Kozak: I'm going to start talking.
Silence.
Esperanza: Am I in trouble?
Dr Kozak: *examines his fingernails deeply* You could say that.
Esperanza: *gasps* "You could say that?"
Dr Kozak: I meant kinda. Same difference.
Esperanza: What did you want to talk to me about then?
Dr Kozak: I forgot to ask you this question earlier at DIE ANNA INCORPORATED when we were talking privately due to the lack of time we had on our hands but why do you hate Cynthia Rose so much?
Esperanza didn't reply.
Dr Kozak: You heard me. I said why do you hate Cynthia Rose so much?
Esperanza: You'll scream at me if I tell you, sir. And I heard you the first time. You didn't really need to repeat yourself again. I understood you perfectly well before.
Dr Kozak: I won't scream. I'm not even mad at you. I just want to know.
Esperanza: It's embarrassing. I can't say.
Dr Kozak: Just tell me.
Esperanza: *slouches in high chair and frowns* I'm afraid you'll take things the wrong way, sir.
Dr Kozak just eyed her up and down, not really saying anything.
Esperanza: And by the way your eyes are glowing purple.
Dr Kozak: Thanks for the information.
Dr Kozak then looked away from her then stared back three seconds later.
Esperanza: Why do they glow purple anyway? If you don't mind me asking.
Dr Kozak: Don't worry. Part of superpower.
Esperanza: But don't you know if they're glowing purple though?
Dr Kozak: No because it's not possible for me to see my own face. Anyway what's up with you and Cynthia Rose?
Esperanza: Fine... I'll tell you why I hate Cynthia Rose so much.
Dr Kozak: Good.
Esperanza: But you have to promise me that you won't tell anyone.
Dr Kozak: Not possible, Esperanza.
Esperanza: *blinks at him continuously in confusion* Why not?
Dr Kozak: Because Kieran knows.
Esperanza gasped.
Esperanza: Kieran knows why I hate Cynthia Rose?
Dr Kozak: Yeah. He must have figured it out for himself. And obviously Kieran's not going to tell me why you hate Cynthia because me and Kieran aren't talking to each other for a long long time. Plus I'd like to know for myself. So, Esperanza.. why the hell do you hate Cynthia Rose?
Esperanza: Because.
Dr Kozak: *raises an eyebrow at her* Because?
Esperanza: Cynthia's brother.
Dr Kozak: Martinez?
Esperanza: Yeah.
Dr Kozak: What about Martinez?
Esperanza: I like Martinez.
Dr Kozak gasped and then smiled at her.
Dr Kozak: You like Martinez?
Esperanza: No.. I love Martinez. In fact I'm obsessed with Martinez. *she was being sarcastic though* Of course I like Martinez.
Dr Kozak: Does Martinez know you like him?
Esperanza: Well I might have made it obvious a couple of times but no! I don't think so.
By a couple of times, Esperanza meant a lot of times, and by I don't think so, she meant yes.
Esperanza was seriously kidding herself right now.
Dr Kozak: Is that why you hate Cynthia Rose?
Esperanza: Yes.
Dr Kozak: So you're jealous of Cynthia because you fancy her brother and he doesn't fancy you back and so therefore you're using the annoyance out of Martinez not liking you back to hate Cynthia?
Esperanza: You said it. I didn't. And I'm also jealous of Cynthia because Martinez is so handsome and almost none of my brothers at home are as beautiful as Martinez is.
Dr Kozak: *smiles* I can't believe this.
Esperanza: Told you it was embarrassing.
Dr Kozak: No. It's cute. In a weird way though. I don't know why. It just is.
Esperanza: And that's why I hate Cynthia Rose.
Dr Kozak: So if Martinez liked you back then you'd be nicer to Cynthia?
Esperanza: Not necessarily like me back. Was just nicer to me.
Dr Kozak: Martinez is probably rude to you because you're rude to his sister Cynthia.
Esperanza: Yeah I know. I realised that... and I feel so so terrible right now... I just can't believe I let my jealousy get the best of me.
Dr Kozak: You know Martinez is like, 20 years of age and you're like 17 right?
Esperanza: Yeah I know. And your point is?
Dr Kozak: It's just never going to work out, Esperanza.
Esperanza: I don't want it to work out, Dr Kozak. I just wish that Martinez was nicer to me. And three years isn't that bad. I know a couple that are seven years apart from each other apparently.
Dr Kozak: Then apologise to Cynthia Rose and explain the real reason on why you've been so rude to her ever since you've met her in real life.
Esperanza: That's going to be so hard for me though.
Dr Kozak: Tell you what... I just saw into the future.
Esperanza: *interrupts him halfway* Why? What happens in the future?
Dr Kozak: Can't say.
Silence...
Dr Kozak: Either way you must apologise to Cynthia Rose later on today somehow.
Esperanza: How though? I'm probably never going to see her again?
Dr Kozak: That might not happen.
Esperanza: What do you mean?
Dr Kozak: Again. I can't say.
Esperanza: Okay so what happens if I don't tell Cynthia the real reason on why I hate her so much or apologise to her today?
Dr Kozak: Then I'll just persuade Martinez to hate you more.
Esperanza gasped again in disbelief.
Esperanza: How are you going to do that?
Dr Kozak: That is only for me to know. The only person that has a right to know that's not me is Martinez, that is if you don't apologise to Cynthia today. And I have to be there as well. And it has to be genuine.
Esperanza: *rolls her eyes* You've got to be kidding me.
Dr Kozak: *frowns slightly, stares at her* I'm not kidding you.
Esperanza: Your eyes are glowing purple again.
Dr Kozak: Oh flip.
Dr Kozak then stopped looking at her for ten seconds then stared back.
Esperanza: *gasps* Oh my gosh! Dr Kozak!
Dr Kozak: *confused* What?
Esperanza: Your face.
Dr Kozak: Yeah... what about my face?
Esperanza: *gasps again* You have freckles!
Dr Kozak: *confused again* I've always had freckles, Esperanza. Why are you just realising this now, after like seven years? Well, someone's slow..
Esperanza: Yeah well I never knew that.
Dr Kozak: How are you only realising that I've got freckles now after I've known you for like ten years?
Esperanza: I'm not sure actually. I think it's because you've been wearing colour blindness glasses majority of the time which conceals like... your entire face.
Dr Kozak: I suppose you're right Esperanza.
Esperanza: How'd you get freckles anyway?
Dr Kozak: It's a crazy story really. I was born without any freckles. And then bam! Freckle. Bam! Freckle. Bam! Freckle.
Esperanza: *is half laughing* So you just somehow randomly grew freckles on your face?
Dr Kozak: Well yes. If you want the truth. I kinda think it was the weather though.
Esperanza: *giggles slightly* That's crazy.
Dr Kozak: Fair point. *checks his phone* Well, twenty minutes is up... I honestly don't know how time went that quickly already... guess I need to video chat Cynthia Rose again..
And saying that, Dr Kozak and Esperanza both stood up and left where they were, Dr Kozak logging back on to his computer to video chat Cynthia Rose again, Esperanza in the meantime spinning around on Dr Kozak's spinning chair having the time of her life, eating as well as licking ice cream from the ice cream freezer located at the back of Dr K's laboratory.

Moral of chapter: Just because you're jealous of someone doesn't mean you have to jeopardise their life.
You wouldn't like if it someone had jeopardised your life due to jealousy so therefore don't do it to someone else. Set a good example for people to follow and you will be a shining star.
