I straightened out my dress as I looked in the mirror. Nerves made me shiver. Shawn asked me out a couple days ago. Ever since I have been going over what to say. I have never been on a date. EVER. I'M 17!
"Sweetie Shawn is here!" My 'mom' Hilary called. I rolled my eyes and rushed down the steps. He was in a simple button up with jeans and Vans. He smiled at me. Hilary gushed about how pretty I was. I pursed my lips together. Thankfully Shawn jumped in.
"Shall we?" I smiled as he bowed slightly and reached his hand to mine. I took it laughing and walked out. After he closed the door he spoke. "You look very pretty," He said smiling brightly. I nodded.
"Thank you," I muttered. We got to his car and he opened the door. I got in chuckling lightly. He turned on the radio.
"I love the tattoo," He commented. I felt my cheeks burn by the amount of compliments.
"Thank you," We drove to this park. He grabbed a basket full of goodies and a blanket. I almost gasped in excitement. I love picnics! This was honestly the best first date ever. Even if I don't have any others to pick from. We walked hand in hand to a spot by the river. There was a gorgeous willow tree that created a shady spot. We ate sandwiches and talked. Then everything got peacefully quiet.
"Is your mom not a good moon?" Shawn asks. "Oh that's mean to ask I'm sorry,"
"You're okay. I just am a foster kid that's all," I explained.
"I'm sorry,"
"It's okay. What about your family," He laughed.
"I have my dad mom and little sister. She is 5 years younger. She is a pain. That tween 'I'm better than everyone' stage ," He ranted as I burst out laughing. Just then rain started to pour. We looked up.
"Run!" Shawn pulled my hand as we rushed to pack up and get to his car.
Once we got in, I coughed as cold shivers ran up my spine. He got in.
"I'm so sorry. I ruined this all," Shawn apologized frowning. I coughed again.
"Its okay its mother natures fault," I laughed.
"Here have a blanket," He wrapped it around me. I smiled small.
"I actually like rain," I commented.
"Same,"
We later just sat in his car with the radio on low facing the rain hitting the river not to far away. We just talked. It was calm. Just how I liked it. I felt butterflies but I felt open around him. See I never met this guy before a week ago when he moved to my school. We never knew each other much until he asked me out. I am so glad he did.
We got married 8 years later.

Sorry guys I had these I guess half way through exams. Idk big tests all 3 of them today and I had to study hard and with basketball also I had zero time to breathe but I made sure I couldn't not update today. Anyways who is excited to see Shawn preform stitches in the parade? Lately he has been preforming on everything like the Kelly and Michael show and the late show. I am so proud of him.
