Northern troop march towards Southern civilians, creating a commotion.
"Everyone, clear the streets! Get back in your homes"
The civilians remain still and look at the troops with contempt. The Northern soldier gestures and two waterbenders bend ice barricades, separating the civilians. The troops continue marching. At the harbor waterbenders are forming ice walls around the docks, preventing ships from leaving.
Violet stood above the city watching it all happen.

In the outskirts of Wolf Cove, people have gathered in Tonraq's house for a meeting.
"Thank you for coming, everyone. I know these last few days have been very troubling" Tonraq says
The entire group looks at Varrick who was grabbing cookies "Troubling? Troubling is when I get that itchy rash that won't go away, and Zhu Li's not around to scratch it. This is shocking" he stands straight and drops cookies off plate before tossing the plate to the floor "Nay, sickening! But these kale cookies? Opposite" he looks at Zhu Li "Remind me to get the recipe later
Zhu Li nods.
"What's your point, Varrick?" Tonraq asks
"My point is, Unalaq's already booted our chieftains out of their palace. How long before he starts telling us what kind of cookies we can eat?" Varrick questions dramatically
"Probably a couple of days" Zhu Li replies
"Rhetorical question, Zhu Li, you gotta keep up" He looks at the group "Not to mention, I've got a cargo ship full of halibut that's rotting thanks to this harbor lockdown? Who wants to buy a ship full of stinking fish?" he slams the plate to floor "Seriously, it's not rhetorical. I need to sell these fish"
"Chief Unalaq is here to help the South" Korra tells them
"Yeah right" Violet speaks up "it's more like he's trying to expand his territory"
"He wants to show us how to restore balance with the spirits so they'll stop attacking" Korra argues
"Look the Guardian's right. Now the only spirit I'm interested in restoring is our spirit of independence. Am I right, people!?" Varrick shouts
The gathering agrees in anger.
"All Unalaq is trying to do is make our tribes unified again" Korra tries to calm them
"No, he wants control of our wealth. My wealth. And I like my wealth. If Unalaq doesn't pull his forces out, then we have no choice but to fight for our freedom!" Varrick
The gathering agrees in anger once again.
"You want to start a war? Are you crazy?" Korra questions
"Unalaq started this when his troops marched straight through our city and started telling us what to do" Violet tells her
"You're encouraging this?" Korra asks her "we need to stop this and we can't unless we're unified" she puts her hand on Violet's shoulder "Vi, please stop"
"No" Violet pushes Korra's hand off her, Korra scowls.
"Girls enough" Tonraq intervenes and looks at Korra "I'm sorry, maybe you could speak with your uncle. Tell him how frustrated we all are. He'll listen to what the Avatar has to say. Do it for me?"
"I'll do it for the tribe" Korra walks away and slams the door.
"Look, we all know where this conflict is heading" Varrick says "We need to start preparing for war"
"I agree" Violet looks at her father "He won't back down, Uncle is power hungry, father we need to fight"
"Violet I understand how you feel but we cannot retaliate with violence" Tonraq tells her "especially not you, as the Guardian you should aim to make peace"
"I aim to do what is right" Violet tells him "as should you" she walks out

Violet walked alongside Mako though the city, Echo had tackled him while the two were walking and wouldn't let him leave so he joined them.
"It's ridiculous" Violets crosses her arms "And Korra supports him"
"Well.. Korra's doing what she thinks is right" Mako closes an eye ready to be yelled at by the Guardian
"I understand that.." Violet tells him calmly "but I also have to do what I think is right"
Mako seemed surprised that she didn't shout like Korra does but sighs in relief and replies "and.. that's all you have to do.. as Guardian.. I believe"
"Yes, thanks for listening" Violet smiles to him "I didn't mean to make my problems yours"
"No no you're fine.. actually" Mako blushes a bit then shakes his head "sometimes i find it best to be able to tell someone my problems, to calm down"
"Right" Violet nods in agreement
"Mako! Violet!"
The two turn to see Bolin running towards them "I'm so happy to see you!" he awkwardly hugs Mako
"Uh, you all right, bro?" Mako asks confused, he looks at Violet and she was holding back a laugh
Bolin shakes his head "No! No, I'm not all right. I can't take anymore. Listen, I don't want to live in icy bliss with Eska!" he weeps "Don't make me. Oh, please, please don't make me"
"Then break up with her" Violet tells him
"Break up with her? You can do that?" Bolin questions
"Yeah, guys do that all the time" Mako replies
"How?" Bolin asks
"Just tell her you're not that into her anymore" Mako answers
"Oh, no, no, I don't think she'd like that" Bolin shakes his head looking terrified
Violet bursts out laughing.
"What?" Bolin looks confused
"Ending a relationship is kind of like pulling off a blood-sucking leech" Mako holds Bolin's shoulder "You just gotta rip it off and get it over with. You'll feel a lot better afterwards. Trust me."
"Thanks, Mako. Whew. I'm lucky you're so good at breaking girls' hearts" Bolin says jokingly "Ha, Korra better watch out" Mako scowls and folds his arms "Oooh, no, it's just a-, uh, you kn-, uh, never mind"
Bolin leaves, Mako and Violet continue their walk with Echo. They soon sat by a park as Echo ran around jumping into snow piles. A group of four Northern soldiers marched into view. Violet and the civilians glare at the soldiers hatefully. The soldiers glare at the civilians before being pelted by snowballs.
"Who threw those!?"
Violet laughs as the kids on the roof who threw them laugh as well. A Northern soldier waterbends and sends the children to the ground.
"You hoodlums think you're tough, huh!?"
"Hey!" Violet runs at them
Violet threw a snowball at them, the soldiers growl and turn to her as other Southern civilians gathered behind her.
"Pick on a waterbender your own size!" one of the civilians shout
Both civilians and soldiers waterbend, ready to attack.
Korra runs between both sides "Stop!
"Tell these thugs to go back to the North. They're not welcome here anymore!" Another civilian shouts
"These Southerners need to stay in line" A northern soldier says
"Everyone, calm down. You're all part of the same tribe, start acting like it" Korra tells them
"We're not part of the same tribe!" Violet shouts at her sister "They're not wanted here!"
"We thought you were one of us" a southerner says angrily to Korra
"I'm not taking anyone's side" Korra says defensively before being hit by a snowball to the head
"Hey!"
"You're the worst Avatar ever!" A little girl shouts at her
Tonraq rushes up to the group "Everyone, walk away from this, they're not worth our trouble. Go back to your homes"
Civilians drop their water and walk away. Soldiers follow suit. Violet and Korra glare at each other before Korra turns and walks away.
"Korra, I-" Tonraq turns and notices Korra is leaving "Korra!"
"Still think we shouldn't do anything?" Violet asks "dad?"

Korra runs into the palace.
"Uncle!" Korra stops, and notices Northern troops tied up and unconscious "Oh, no. Uncle?"
Korra runs and stops at a corner and watches a masked rebel drag an unconscious Unalaq while three others stand guard.
"Dad?" Korra runs to the rebels "Dad, don't do this"
"Turn around, Avatar, and pretend you didn't see anything" One of the Rebels say
"No, leave Unalaq and go. I'll tell him I tried to stop you, but you escaped." Korra tells them "We can still avoid a war"
"No, we can't" A Rebel says
The rebel traps Korra within an ice wall while they escape. Korra punches a gap within her enclosure and pursues the rebels. While the rebels were running down a flight of stairs, Korra freezes the handrails and slides down in front of them.
"Get him out of here!"
The rebel leader runs away. Korra tries to follow, but is blocked by an ice wall.
"We're all part of the same tribe. I don't wanna hurt you" Korra tells them
The rebels prepare to attack Korra, but she dodges their offenses. Korra leaps up and grabs a banner while evade the rebel's offenses. She runs up a pillar and tosses the banner against two rebels, using airbending to ensnare them. Korra continues dodging the remaining rebels' offenses and grabs the rope of one of the rebels and kicks another rebel, slamming him unconscious on the staircase. She ties the rope around the rebel's wrist and swings him to a pillar, knocking him out. Korra runs out of the palace to see the rebel leader leaving.
"Dad, stop!" Korra waterbends at the snowmobile, causing it to change course and crash "Why did you do this, Dad?"
Korra reaches out to removes the rebel's hood, suddenly they shoot fire at her and Korra jumps back pulling the hood with her, revealing it to be none other then Violet.
"Violet" Korra stares at her in complete shock "I.. I thought.. how could it be you?"
"Father wouldn't help us" Violet stares at her sister "He's a traitor, just like you"
Violet quickly runs off as Unalaq began to awaken.
"...how.." Korra stares down at the mask still in shock "why.. please.." her eyes began to tear "anyone else but her"
Korra rides back to her home and opens the door to see her parents eating. Tonraq and Senna look up to her, smiling.
"Is it okay if I come in?" Korra asks
"Of course. We heard what happened" Senna replies "Are you okay?"
Korra tears up and hugs her father "I'm so glad you weren't there. I don't know what I would've done."
"I had no idea how far Varrick was willing to go. My brother and I have our differences, but I would never attack him" Tonraq tells her
"I'm sorry for thinking you had anything to do with the rebels. And for all the pain I've caused you and Mom" Korra apologizes
"I'm the one who should apologize. After I saw the Southern Lights return, I was so proud of you. I never should've held you back" Tonraq tells her
"When your father and I found each other, all we wanted was to live a simple life and raise a family" Senna explains "But, then we discovered you were the Avatar, Violet became the Guardian, and simple was over. We knew one day the world would need you, and you wouldn't need us anymore"
"Mom, Dad" Korra hugs her parents "of course I still need you" she pulls back looking worried "but dad Vi-"
Tonraq quiets his daughter as Unalaq walks in.
"We weren't expecting you" Tonraq says
Four soldiers enter the room.
"Tonraq, Senna, you are under arrest and will stand trial" Unalaq tells them
"Trial? For what?" Tonraq asks
"For conspiring to assassinate me" Unalaq replies
Korra and her mother look shocked while Tonraq stared at his brother not looking shocked at all. Unknown to most, Violet stood at the other end of her bedroom door holding hand over her mouth holding back tears.
"Very well" Tonraq replies
"But Dad you didn't do anything" Korra argues "you don't-"
Korra's eyes widened seeing the look on her father's face, he knew, he knew exactly what Violet did and he was going to protect her.
