Riley POV
,,So you said you wanted to tell me something about Nick."
,,Right." Mom said and then she and dad took a deep breath before continuing. ,,Nick showed up here again and we wanted to ask you something. We understand if you want to get to know him. We totally get it. I mean at the end of the day he is still your biological father. If you want to stay in contact with him or whatever you can do that, but if you don't then he will stay away from you." Mom said and to be honest I had no idea what I wanted.
,,You don't have to take any decisions now. Take your time and think about what you want." Dad said and took my hand in his squeezing it lightly.
This was one of the moments I wished he was my biological father or even just my adoptive father. He is my dad and he will always be because he is the only father figure I had and I can't be more thankful for that, but I just wish sometimes that he was my real father.
,,I kinda want to get to know Nick more, but he lied and I don't know if I should trust him at all. Like he lied really badly and I don't feel...safe?...around him." I said and mom and dad nodded understanding.
,,If you wanna meet up with him we can come with you if that would make it better, but like I said you don't have to because you don't owe him anything. Okay?" Mom said, I nodded and then hugged both of them.
They held me close and stroke my back lightly. Once again I felt so stupid because I didn't believe them from the beginning , but I was just so confused that I couldn't think straight. I'm just relieved that they are not mad for the bullshit that came out of my mouth after Nick 'brainwashed' me.
,,Group hug!" I heard Mason say from behind and that made us break the hug and when I turned around I saw Mason standing there with just his towel around his torso.
,,Your shirt, buddy." Dad said and suddenly Mason turned bright red.
,,Dear god, Shawn!" Mom said and slapped dad's shoulder lightly.
,,What? I just pointed it out." Dad said defending himself.
I reached under one of the pillows to find Mason's pajamas in which he slept last night and threw it in his face.
,,Thanks." He simply said and then almost ran into the bathroom again to get changed.
,,Stop looking at me like that! They are getting older so I have to get more protective." Dad said and that's when I noticed the way mom was staring at him.
,,You're protective enough, babe." Mom said and dad shook his head.
,,Goodnight, you two." I said wanting to end this discussion as early as possible and that's also when Mason walked back in the room, but this time in his pajamas.
,,Goodnight." Mom said and kissed my forehead.
,,Goodnight, princess." Dad said and kissed my cheek, but I crossed my arms over his neck to give him a hug and not letting him go.
,,Night, Mason." I heard mom say.
,,Goodnight, Mila." I heard Mason say and then I kissed dad's cheek before letting him go.
Dad smiled at me before he tickled me lightly and then put the covers over my face. I laughed lightly while I put the covers away from my face to see how he and mom were leaving the room.
,,Rude!" I shouted after him and he showed me his tongue making me giggle.
,,Love you." Mom said and pulled dad by his hand after her like he was a toddler.
,,Love you too." I said and then they turned off the lights and closed the door, so Mason and I could go to sleep.
,,You're parents are the coolest! But that earlier was second hand embarrassment." Mason said while getting under the covers too and I couldn't help but laugh lightly.
,,Dad has his own humor."
,,I couldn't agree more." He said and chuckled lightly.
,,By the way your mom said you can sleep here tonight, but can I ask you something?" I asked Mason and he turned on his side so he could look at me properly.
,,Of course." He said with a soft voice.
,,Mom and dad told me that Nick showed up here again and they asked me if I want to have anything to do with him. I kinda want to 'cause he is my biological father and shit, but I also don't want to..." I said and Mason looked a little confused at me.
,,Why don't you want to get to know him anymore?" He asked.
,,This might sound weird, but maybe if I tell mom and dad that I want to stay in contact with Nick maybe they will think that they aren't enough for me. Like I know I hurt them when I believed Nick and not them and I don't wanna hurt them again. You know?"
,,I know what you mean, but I don't think it's going to be like that. You won't hurt them just because you want to stay in contact with Nick. He is your biological father and Shawn and Mila will understand that you want to get to know him more."
,,Yeah, but I don't want him to be my biological father." I said and Mason furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
,,Now you lost me." He said.
,,It doesn't matter. " I said and turned around on my back to look at the ceiling.
,,Nah ah! You are going to explain what you meant so I can help." Mason said and stabbed my arm lightly with bis finger making me turn around and face him again.
,,I just wish sometimes that mom and dad were my parents.... like my real parents.... like biological parents." I said and Mason let out a simple "oh". ,,I know I can't change the fact that they aren't, but still." I continued.
,,They aren't your biological parents, but they are your adoptive parents and that is just as meaningful. Family is not always blood."
,,Just mom adopted me..." I said and the look on Mason's face told me that he apparently didn't know that.
,,Shawn didn't adopt you?" Mason asked a little confused and I shook my head.
,,When mom adopted me she and dad just started dating so it would have been weird if he would've adopted me too and after that... well here we are."
,,Okay wait. Now I get your problem. You want Shawn to adopt you too."
,,Yeah...I mean he is my dad, but I still kinda want it..."
,,Then why don't you tell them that?" He asked.
,,How should that go? 'Hey dad! Can you adopt me?'" I asked making an interpretation of how it would sound if I would actually ask that.
,,You idiot, of course you can't ask just like that. Talk with Mila first and maybe you can surprise him somehow."
,,But what if he doesn't want to adopt me?"
,,That was one of the most stupid things that came out of your mouth." Mason said with a serious face.
,,Well I can't just exclude that possibility." I said and Mason shook his head at me.
,,You can. Just like that." He said and snapped his fingers. ,,We just excluded that possibility." He said with a smirk and this time I shook my head at him. ,,Trust me there is absolutely no way Shawn wouldn't want to adopt you."
,,Hope so..."
,,Now back to Nick.... What do you wanna do?" Mason asked me going back to the actual problem.
,,I think I'll tell mom and dad that I want to meet up with him while mom and dad are there and then I'll see if I want to stay in touch with him afterwards." I said and Mason nodded.
,,Sounds like a good plan to me." He said and gave me a smile. I returned the smile and then yawned getting more and more tired with every second passing. The training was pretty exhausting. ,,We should go to sleep." Mason said as he saw me yawning.
,,Yeah..." I said and then yawned again. ,,Goodnight." I said and Mason pulled me closer to him.
,,Goodnight, Riri." He said and I smiled light before I closed my eyes and started driving slowly to sleep.
Camila POV
After Shawn and I said goodnight to Riley and Mason we went to say goodnight to Ami. She was waiting for us in her bed with a smile on her face.
,,I forgot to tell you something." She said after Shawn and I entered her room.
,,What is that?" Shawn asked and went to sit on the bed right at the end of her legs.
,,I got in the cheer team." Ami said and that surprised both me and Shawn.
,,Really!? I never knew you wanted to be a cheerleader." I said with a smile 'cause I was happy for her.
,,I just wanna try it out." She said.
,,That's great! I'm happy for you." I said and then kissed her cheek. I was always happy when the kids wanted to try something new because I want them to experience a lot of things so they can decide later with what they are sticking on.”
,,Are you going to have one of those uniforms?" Shawn asked Ami and she blushed lightly.
,,I'm going to have pom-poms." Ami said and we all laughed lightly.
,,Tarzan and Thunder are going to enjoy that." Shawn joked and once again we all laughed.
,,When do you have training?" I asked Ami and put a curl behind her ear.
,,Monday." Amara said and Shawn and I nodded making a mental note.
,,Okay then you should go to sleep now 'cause you have school tomorrow and I don't want you to be a zombie in the morning." I said and Ami giggled.
,,Goodnight, mommy." She said and I gave her a kiss on the forehead.
,,Goodnight, princess." I said softly.
,,Goodnight, daddy." Ami said and then Shawn kissed her forehead.
,,Goodnight, sweetie." He said and then we made our way out her room. Shawn turned off her light and made our way into Nate's room so we could tell him "goodnight" too.
,,Hey, buddy." Shawn said as we entered Nate's room finding him on his bed reading.
,,You're pretty determined to finish that book, aren't you?" I asked and and then Nate put his book away with a smile.
,,I just finished it." He said and I couldn't help, but laugh lightly.
,,Did it have a happy ending?" I asked and Nate nodded. ,,That means you can go to sleep happy." I said with a smile and Nate nodded.
,,Exactly!" Nate said with a huge smile on his face.
,,Did your headache disappear?" Shawn asked Nate and he nodded.
,,Does that mean that you are going to school tomorrow?" I asked and Nate nodded again. ,,Then sleep well, baby." I said and kissed the top of his head.
,,Goodnight, mommy. I love you." He said with a smile.
,,I love you too." I said returning the smile.
,,So do I." Shawn said and then also kissed the top of Nate's head.
Shawn and I made our way out of Nate's room and turned off the lights. We walked together to our bedroom and when we entered our room Tarzan was already waiting for us there. He was laying in his bed at the end of the bed and I walked over to him and pet him lightly.
,,He is getting old..." I said it more to myself, but I'm sure Shawn heard it.
,,I know, but he is perfectly healthy so don't worry about him." Shawn said as if he read my thoughts.
,,I'm trying not to." I said and left a kiss on Tarzan's head and then started searching for my pajama, but I suddenly felt Shawn's arms wrap around my waist.
,,How tired are you from a scale from 1 to 10?" He asked me as he started to leave kisses on my neck.
,,9..." I said honestly even tho I wished now I wasn't that tired.
,,Damnit.... I need you just for myself...." Shawn said against my neck and I groaned lightly in frustration, but then I got an idea.
,,What if we send the kids away over the weekend? I'm gonna be all yours then." I said and Shawn chuckled lightly probably because he twisted my words.
,,You wanna SEND the kids away?" He asked and started laughing lightly so I turned around to face him and slapped his shoulder lightly for making fun of me.
,,You know what I mean!" I said and crossed my arms over my chest and that only made Shawn smirk.
,,I know. So what's your plan? Where did you wanna 'send' them?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around me.
,,I was thinking about Addison. We took her kids last weekend so she can take ours now." I said and Shawn chuckled, but then I did too as I realized how weird my words sounded spoken out loud.
,,We gonna convince her tomorrow." Shawn said smiling and I nodded while I smiled back at him.
He kissed my nose making me giggle and then let go of me. I let myself fall in the bed and he chuckled as he watched me.
,,I'm so tired." I said and then let out a yawn.
,,Where are your pajamas?" He asked me.
,,I don't know...." I said and then yawned again also making Shawn yawn this time. Yawning is really contagious.
,,Found them." Shawn said and threw my pajamas right over my face making me laugh lightly.
I got changed quickly and then got under the covers just waiting for Shawn to come too. I watched him getting ready for bed and when he was ready I opened my arms for him and he immediately came to cuddle.
I swear that I'm the luckiest person walking on earth for having him. Without him I wouldn't have more than half the things that I'm thankful for at the present moment. I'm more then greatful for his love and I'll always be.
,,Love you, daddy." I said interpreting the kids.
,,I love you too, mommy." He said and then pulled me in for a kiss.
