After the appointment, Shawn and I picked up Riley from Addison's apartment and then walked home together. We were so happy and so excited to tell our family the news the next day.
Manny and Karen would visit us for the weekend and Mary and Aaliyah would come over tomorrow. Carlos, Nora, Caroline and Alex were in Philadelphia, so after we would tell Manny, Karen, Liyah and Mary the news, we would call Carlos and his family and tell them too.
We bought Riley a shirt that said big sister and we'll tell her to wear it for the day and then see how they all will react to that. I was so excited to see their reaction.
That morning, Shawn, Riley and I had a simple breakfast and I was a little curious to see if Riley would react in any way.
,,Princess, we bought you a new shirt. Do you wanna see it?" I asked Riley and Shawn smiled at me while he was washing the dishes.
,,Yes!" Riley said excited and I walked in Shawn's and my bedroom to bring the shirt.
,,Here you go." I said and gave her the shirt and waited for her reaction anxiously.
,,B-...big...s-..si-....sister." She said trying to read was on it. Riley was still learning to read and write so I was proud that she read it correctly. ,,Big sister?" She asked and looked up at me confused.
I smiled at her, stood up on my feet and put Shawn's shirt a little up to reveal my belly. Riley's eyes widen, but she still looked confused.
,,You are going to have a little brother." I said and she looked confused at me and then at Shawn.
,,A brother?" She asked and Shawn and I nodded with a smile. ,,He is in there?" She asked at pointed at my belly.
,,Yes, now he is there." I said.
,,You ate him!?" She asked confused and I couldn't help but laugh lightly.
,,No, sweetheart. I didn't eat him." I said and let the shirt fall over the belly again.
,,Then how did he get in there?" She asked.
Oh no... Not that talk.... How do you explain a kid that!?
I looked over at Shawn and he looked like he was also trying to figure out what to say.
,,Ahm.... That's a good question.... Well.... All the babies are in their mom's tummy at first. You were also in Nina's tummy when you were mini mini." Shawn explained and walked over to us.
,,I still don't understand how it gets in there." Riley said and Shawn and I sat in front of her trying to think of how and what to tell her.
,,When you love someone so much and you wish to get a baby, most of the times you get blessed with that baby." I tried to explain looking at Shawn.
,,Did Nina and Nick love each other to get me like you love each other?" Riley asked.
,,Probably." Shawn and I said at the same time.
,,And how does it come out of there?" Riley asked and pointed at my stomach.
,,Well, sometimes the doctor 'cuts' the belly or it comes out of there." I said and pointed between my legs.
,,Doesn't that hurt?" Riley asked and looked a little shocked.
,,It does, but afterwards it doesn't really matter because having the baby is so magical that the pain isn't as important anymore." I explained and she seemed satisfied with our answers.
,,We are gonna take care of you so it doesn't hurt." Riley said with a smile and came closer to me and Shawn. ,,Right, daddy?" Riley asked and I couldn't help but smile at how cute she was.
,,Definitely." Shawn said and gave Riley a smile.
,,Now let's get you changed so we can surprise grandpa and grandma with the news." I said and Riley stood up from the floor excited and ran with her shirt in her room.
,,Good explained." Shawn said and I giggled lightly.
,,Thank you. I thought it was good for her to know the basic stuff." I said.
,,Your explanation was just perfect for her age." Shawn said and kissed my cheek.
,,I'll go and help her get changed." I said and he nodded with a smile.
Riley and I choose a skirt to match her shirt and after she was dressed, I told her to wash her teeth while I'm going to get changed too.
I sat in front of the closet for minutes, trying to figure out what to wear! Until now I wore a lot of Shawn's clothes because we wanted to hide the belly, but the problem is now that none of my clothes fit me anymore.
I groaned out loud and that's when Shawn entered the bedroom and saw me on the floor in front of our closets.
,,What's wrong, babe?" He asked.
,,I don't know what to wear. Like I have nothing to wear! And I mean it. All the clothes I have don't fit me anymore." I said and let myself lay down on the floor.
,,Oh-" Shawn said and then came to sit next to me.
,,I've only worn your clothes and some of the jeans that can still somehow fit me." I said.
,,Can't you wear that today too? We can go tomorrow and buy you some new clothes." He said and pulled on my arms to make me sit up so I did and leaned against him.
,,I could also wear some leggings, a tank top and a zipper sweatshirt." I said.
,,You could definitely do that too." He said with a smile and kissed my nose.
I know Shawn doesn't really like to talk about clothes problems, but it was sweet of his to listen and help me anyways.
,,You are the best. You know that?" I asked.
,,I don't know, but I'm trying my best. Do you need any other kind of help?" He asked softly.
,,Could you give me the clothes? I'm too lazy to stand up." I said and he started laughing lightly before he stood up and looked through the closet.
,,Are these good?" He asked and showed me a pair of black leggings.
,,Perfect." I said with a smile.
,,And this?" He asked and showed me a black tank top.
,,Too."
,,And what zipper sweatshirt do you want?" He asked after he placed the leggings and the tank top on the bed.
,,One of yours. I don't care which one." I said.
,,Okay then I'm gonna give you Mr Red for today." He said and took a red zipper sweatshirt out of his closet.
,,Thank you!" I said with a smile and stretched my arms for him to take and pull me up on my feet. That's also what he did.
,,Anytime, love." He said and kissed my lips softly.
Shawn and I got ready for the day and not a long time afterwards, the interphone rang and our faces lighted up in excitement.
,,Who do you think it's first?" Shawn asked as he made his way to the interphone.
,,I think it's Mary. She's never late." Shawn said and then answered the interphone. ,,Come in, mama." He said, opened the building door with the interphone and then the apartment door.
,,Mary?" I asked.
,,Yep." He simply said.
,,Okay then go into position, princess." I said and Riley giggled excited.
I zipped up my sweater to hide my belly for now and Riley and I walked right next to Shawn to wait for Mary.
,,My favorite trio!" Mary said as the elevator's doors opened and revealed her.
,,Hi, mama." Shawn and I said and she gave us a sweet smile.
,,Grandma!" Riley said bringing Mary's attention to her.
,,Hey, sweety!" Mary said and pulled Riley in for a hug not noticing her shirt.
,,Look at my shirt!" Riley said excited as she broke the hug.
Shawn closed the door to the apartment while Mary looked down at Riley's shirt and tried of read what was on it.
,,Big-" Mary read and the stopped to look up at me and Shawn with wide us. ,,Shut up!" Mary said and put her hand over her mouth.
,,We're going to have a baby..." I said and unzipped the growing belly.
,,Oh my god! I knew it! I knew it!" She said and the pulled me and Shawn for a hug. ,,Riley, you are going to have a sibling!" Mary said excited as she broke the hug and looked back at Riley.
,,I'm gonna have a brother." Riley said and Mary's eyes widen once again.
,,It's a boy?" She asked with tears that started forming in her eyes.
Shawn and I nodded and I pulled I hugged her one more time.
,,Don't cry..." I said and rubbed her back lightly.
,,I'm trying to, but it feels unreal to have you in my life and now there is another human being joining the pack." Mary said and Shawn and I laughed lightly at her words.
,,You can't call us your favorite trio anymore." Shawn said and Mary giggled as she wiped her tears away.
,,Then you are my favorite quartet now." Mary said and Riley came to hug her from behind.
Suddenly the interphone rang again, so Shawn went to answer it.
,,Come on in!" Shawn said and after he opened the building door and the apartment door he turned around to look at me. ,,Mom and dad are here." He said.
,,Get into position, princess." I said to Riley again seeing how excited she was when I said that the first time.
While we were waiting, Mary took off her shoes and I zipped up my sweater again. A few moments later Karen and Manny arrived.
,,Look at her shirt." Mary said and pointed at Riley while Karen and Manny were taking off their shoes.
,,Big- No way! NO WAY!" Karen said and suddenly started jumping around.
Manny took a little longer to realize what was happening, but when he did his eyes widen and a smile appeared on his face.
,,You're pregnant!?" Karen asked me and I nodded while I once again zipped down my sweater to show her the belly. ,,Oh my god..." Karen said and looked in awe at me and Shawn.
Shawn placed his hand over my belly and smiled down at me. I could see the sparkle in his eyes that told me how happy he was.
,,Do you wanna feel it?" I asked Karen.
,,Y-Yeah..." She said and placed her hand on my belly too. ,,H-How long? I mean it clearly didn't happen yesterday." Karen said and everyone in the room besides Riley, who of course didn't understand, laughed.
,,It's the 18th week." I said and Shawn nodded.
,,And it's a baby boy." Shawn said.
,,A boy!? A BOY!?" Manny said excited.
,,Yes, a boy." Shawn said and chuckled lightly.
,,Oh my god! We're finally not the only ones in the family!" Manny joked and we all laughed.
,,So when can I play with it?" Riley asked.
,,Well... That's gonna take a while, but you'll have to take good care of your brother. Okay?" Shawn asked and Riley nodded excited.
The interphone rang once again and it must have been Aaliyah. Shawn opened the building door and the apartment door for her and we all waited excited for Aaliyah.
,,Sorry for being a little late. I forgot my phone home so I had to return, but now I'm here." Liyah said as she entered and started taking her shoes off.
,,Auntie Liyah, look at my shirt." Riley said and Aaliyah did so after she took her shoes off.
,,Big sister. Huh?" Aaliyah asked confused and after a few seconds her face lighted up. ,,Oh. Oh! OH! OMG!" She said and started jumping around like Karen did earlier too. Everyone laughed lightly at her reaction.
,,I'm going to have a brother." Riley said and Aaliyah pulled me in for a hug and then Shawn.
I couldn't describe how happy I felt that they all knew now. Later on, we face timed Carlos and his family. They were so excited and screamed around when we told them. Everything was just perfect. I was the happiest and I had to thank the the person I loved the most on this earth and that was my husband.

Okay so like most of you probably saw I'm not gonna be able to update every day in the following two weeks so I'm just gonna update every other day so I still have a regular update schedule.
Anyways if I survive this two weeks I am a superhero! I swear! I have so many things to do for school that I'll probably sleep for a month after I'm done with everything. Wish me luck with everything because I really need luck 😭
