Camila POV
Shawn and I walked back home while I was clinging on his arm. I couldn't help, but think about the man I talked to in the cemetery. I tried to remember anything about an uncle, but nothing came in my mind.
He was probably just lying, but why would he lie? He doesn't know anything about me, so why mess with me?
Something in me kinda wished that the man wasn't lying... But if he was telling the truth tho, then I'd hate him. I'd hate him for letting me think there was no one else.
Shawn and I picked Riley up from Addison's apartment and then walked home. I was exhausted even if it was morning. I couldn't sleep all night and I started to feel a little headache.
When we got home, I walked in the living room and made myself comfortable on the couch. Shawn placed Riley on the couch next to me and I held her tight in my arms.
She was my only blood relative and I knew it.
,,You want a hot chocolate?" Shawn asked as he walked in the kitchen.
,,Yes, please..." I said with a soft smile.
I looked at Riley while I was playing lightly with her soft short hair. She was just looking at me with wide eyes.
,,Mila, is this necklace yours?" Shawn asked from the kitchen and as I looked over, I saw him holding up the necklace from Nina.
,,Yeah... It's my birthday gift from Nina." I said and saw his facial expression change lightly.
He started walking from the kitchen in the living room with the two hot chocolates and the necklace. He placed the hot chocolates on the coffee table and then sat on the couch next to me.
,,Can I?" He asked and held up the necklace. I knew he wanted to put it on me, so I nodded.
I moved my hair in the front and then turned around with my back to him, so he could put the necklace on. His fingers brushed lightly over my skin as he put it on and that gave me chills like everytime. I was still surprised at how my body was reacting to everything he does.
,,Thank you..." I said and placed my hand over the necklace that was now around my neck.
He didn't say anything and instead kissed the back of my neck and then wrapped his arm around me. I giggled lightly at the feeling and then let myself relax against him.
I looked back at Riley who was smiling widely at me. She suddenly took my index finger in her little hand and then just looked me in the eyes.
This little baby was warming my heart with just a simple look, but the next thing that happened made me cry from happiness. She opened her little mouth and said:
,,Ma-ma"
My eyes widen and a smile appeared on my face along some tears.
,,Did you hear that?" I asked Shawn shocked and as I looked over my shoulder at him, I saw that he was just as shocked.
,,Yeah..." It's all he managed to say.
,,Yeah, baby girl. I'm your mama." I said with tears in my eyes and kissed the top of her head.
We just stayed like that for a while. Just the three of us hugging and relaxing in each other's arms.
We spend all that day just cuddling and playing. That one word lighted up all my day and suddenly all the bad disappeared.
I still felt the sadness that this day brought with it, but it wasn't as bad as it was this morning. I couldn't believe that Riley just said her first word and I was just so overjoyed about it.
When Shawn and I were in Riley's room and were playing with her, she took a book that was laying on the floor, handed it to me and then said it AGAIN!
,,Mama" She said, this time more clear, and my smile grew wider. I once again felt tears in my eyes.
I took the book she gave me and I knew she wanted me to read her something. I was sitting with my legs crossed and she crawled into my lap and waited for me to start reading.
It was probably one of the cutest moments of my entire life.
I opened the book and held it so that she could see in it too. It's not like she can read, but she can look at the images.
I looked at Shawn and he had a huge smile on his face. He looked at me softly and just watched me read to Riley.
At some point, I heard the sound of a camera and as I looked up, I saw that Shawn took a picture of me and Riley.
,,I couldn't help it. You were looking too precious to not have it as a memory." Shawn said and I only gave him a soft smile before I continued reading to Riley.
This might sound weird, but in that moment it felt like Nina and my parents were there and were watching us.
,,Look." Shawn said at some point interrupting my reading.
He pointed at Riley and as I looked in my lap I saw that she fell asleep. I looked at the clock and saw that it was her bed time. I put the book to the side and then tried to stand up with Riley and put her to bed as carefully as possible.
After she was in her bed, Shawn and I started to clean up the room because Riley was starting to get really active and she would play with everything that gets in her hand, so her room was a real mess.
I found her favorite teddy bear on the floor, so I placed it next to her in bed and she immediately cuddled with it. She was the cutest and purest human being.
Shawn and I were ready after a while and then walked in the living room to watch a movie or whatever until we get tired.
,,What do you wanna watch?" I asked him.
,,I'm not in the mood of a movie..." He said and pulled me closer to him making me rest my head on his chest.
,,You wanna watch FRIENDS?" I asked and looked up at him.
,,Yeah.. How many episodes do we have until the end?" He asked me.
,,Two or three more. Can we rewatch Gilmore Girls when were done with FRIENDS?" I asked him and he nodded before he kissed my lips softly.
,,Whatever you want." He said and kissed me again.
I started the episode and relaxed in his arms. I don't know when I fell asleep, but the next thing I know is that I woke up the morning in the bed with Shawn next to me. He must've moved me to the bedroom...
It was Sunday morning so I decided to do some pancakes for us. I kissed Shawn's lips while he was still asleep and then got out of bed.
I walked in the kitchen and started doing the pancakes with Karen's recipe. I was pretty proud of how they ended up.
,,Mhhh! It smells so good!" I heard Shawn say and then he wrapped his arm around my waist from behind while I was setting the table.
,,I hope it will taste good too." I said, turned around, put my hands behind his neck and leaned in for a kiss. ,,Morning." I said against his lips and then kissed him again.
,,Morning." He said and then he kissed me. ,,You feeling better?" He asked thinking about the yesterday's morning events.
,,I do. I feel happy." I said putting some curls away from his face.
His hair starting growing longer and it was getting in his face all the time.
,,Do we have plans for today?" Shawn asked.
,,Small ones. Mary wants to go to lunch together at an Italian restaurant. She was excited about it because she said that the pasta should taste heavenly there." I said and I took his hand in mine as we broke apart and sat down at the table to eat.
The pancakes were surprisingly tasty and I was pretty proud of myself and so was Shawn. He couldn't even stop complimenting the pancakes.
After Riley woke up and ate, she was full with energy. She was crawling through the whole apartment and wanted us to catch her. She was once again the cutest.
When it was time for lunch, we all got ready and when I got Riley changed, she even helped get her changed. Like she was giving me her arm when I was putting her the jacket on and all that kind of stuff.
Shawn and I had to buy a new baby stroller for Riley because she grew up. It was one where she could sit in it, but also lay down when we modify it.
We walked to that restaurant because it wasn't that far away and we also wanted to take a walk so it was perfect. Shawn was pushing the stroller and I was walking next to him with our arms locked. We shared some soft kisses on the way and I was just feeling happy and lucky to have all this.
When we got at the restaurant they asked if we had a reservation, but before we could answer, Mary came from one of the tables and said.
,,They are with me." Mary said with a smile.
We walked with Mary to her table and after we sat down, I gave Riley her teddy and a few other toys to entertain her for a while.
,,So how are you, kids?" Mary asked us.
,,You'll never guess what happened yesterday!" I said excited and I swear that Shawn was looking at me with joy and admiration.
,,What happened?" Mary asked curiously.
,,Riley said her first word! She said mama! Two times!" I said excited and saw that Mary's eyes grew and an excited smile appeared on her face too.
,,Good girl, Riley!" Mary said and kissed the top of Riley's head.
,,But the moment she said it was even more cute then the fact that she said it." Shawn said and I couldn't agree more.
Riley made the worst day of every year one of the best ones by just saying a word at the perfect timing.
,,You wanna see a picture from yesterday? That was a few seconds later after Riley said "mama" for the second time." Shawn said and showed his phone to Mary.
I couldn't help but notice that he put it as his lock and home screen and I thought that it was so cute. My lock screen was now a picture of Shawn Riley and I and home screen picture is a picture of Shawn, Riley, Addison, Stacy and I at the hospital when Addison could feed Logan for the first time.
,,It looks so precious!" Mary said looking at the picture.
,,I've to send it to mom and Aaliyah." Shawn said and that's what he did next. ,,By the way, mom was asking when are we going to them? Are we going the following weekend and celebrate Riley's birthday there or are we going there afterwards?"
,,When are you closing the praxis?" I asked.
,,On Friday."
,,We can go on Saturday and we're gonna be there on Riley's birthday on Sunday. When is Aaliyah coming?"
,,She’s coming on Thursday. She'll stay with us and go with us to mom and dad." Shawn informed.
,,Okay perfect." I said and then looked at Mary who had a sad smile on her face. ,,Would you like to come too?" I asked her and her eyes grew wide.
,,Oh no! I don't wanna bother you!" She said defensive.
,,You're not bothering at all! My parents wanted to get to know you for a long time. I'll text them and ask and then you can decide for yourself if you wanna come or not. There is one more free seat for you in the car." Shawn said and we laughed lightly at his last comment.
,,I'll think about. I promise." She said and gave us smile.
,,Camila? Please hear me out!" Someone from behind said and as I turned around, I got scared a little by the man from the cemetery.

I had some headache yesterday and on Thursday and I that's why I couldn't post yesterday, but now I'm back!!!!
