Camila POV
,,You can't catch me!" I shouted while I ran through the whole house to get away from Nina.
,,Mila! Give me my teddy bear back!" Nina shouted after me and I continued running, but suddenly I bumped into something and fell on my ass.
,,Ow..." I said.
,,You okay, little one?" My dad asked and looked down on me.
I looked up at him and noticed I probably ran into him.
,,My teddy!" Nina said and took the teddy away while I wasn't paying attention.
,,No! I wanna play with it too!" I complained as I stood up from the floor.
,,But it's MINE!" Nina said and hid the teddy behind her back.
,,You don't play with him anymore! I do! You only play with your stupid Make-up set!"
,,First of all I don't play with Make-up! I do art with Make-up! And second of all, I play with my teddy, just not every second of my life."
,,Girls! What's wrong?" My dad said and Nina and I started yelling to my dad trying to explain our point of view. ,,Okay! Quiet! Only one person talks."
,,I go first." I said and crossed my arms over my chest.
,,No! I go first! I was first born." Nina said.
,,You know what. No one talks. Nina are you playing with that teddy, right now?" My mom said as she entered the living room. Nina thought for a second and then said:
,,Yes."
,,Camila, then wait for your sister until she is ready and you can play with the teddy afterwards. Okay?" My mom said and we both nodded.
,,Are you ready to go?" My dad asked my mom while Nina went to sit on the couch to play with the teddy.
,,Yep. We only have to wait for the nanny to arrive and we can go." Mom said.
,,Where are you going?" I asked them.
,,We have to go to the praxis quickly, but we will be back before dinner. Don't worry about that." My dad said and picked me up in his arms.
Nina was always complaining about the fact that dad was still picking me up, but not her. Dad always said that Nina is big now and he isn't that strong to pick her up anymore. He says that I'm still little and easy to pick up, but one day he won't be able to pick me up either.
,,Are you bringing me ice cream for dessert?" I asked excited.
,,Of course, little princess." Dad said and kissed my cheek.
,,Do you want something special for dinner too, Nini?" My mom asked and Nina turned around to look excited at mom and dad.
,,I want ice cream too!"
,,Then we'll bring you ice cream when we're coming back." Mom said and smiled at both of us.
Suddenly, the door bell rang and dad opened the door with his free hand to reveal our nanny.
,,Oh great! You are here!" Mom said to the nanny and dad put me back on the floor.
,,Don't fight with your sister. Okay?" Dad whispered to me and I nodded.
,,Be good girls. I don't wanna hear Mrs Pating complain when we get home." Mom said.
,,Yes, mommy." Nina and and I said at the same time.
,,Love you." Mom said and gave me and then Nina a kiss on the cheek.
,,You can take the teddy. I'm bored." Nina said and then walked upstairs after mom and dad left.
,,Thank you!" I said excited and ran Nina from behind as she started walking up the stairs.
I took the teddy from the living room and walked with him in my room. I played there for a while and as I started to get bored, I walked in Nina's room to see what she was doing.
,,Nini?" I said and I entered the room.
,,What's wrong?" She asked while she was laying on her bed with a book.
,,I'm bored. Can we do something?" I asked as I jumped on her bed.
,,I don't know. What time is it?"
,,8pm."
,,Already!? But it's dinner time. Mom and dad said they will be here before dinner."
,,Maybe they are stuck in traffic. Let's just ask Mrs Pating." Nina said and stood up from the bed and I did the same.
We walked together downstairs and found Mrs Pating in the kitchen.
,,Mrs Pating?" Nina asked.
,,What's wrong girls?" She asked with a wide smile on her face.
,,When are mommy and daddy coming back? They said they are going to be home before dinner." Nina said.
,,Ahm... I don't know. They didn't text or call me so that means they'll be back anytime now." She said with a smile. ,,Do you wanna watch a movie?"
,,Yes!" Nina and I said excited and we walked in the living room and Mrs Pating started the TV and let us watch a movie.
While we were watching TV, I saw that Mrs Pating was trying to call someone, but it looked like she had no success. At some point the phone rang and Mrs Pating went to answer it.
I watched as her facial expression changed into a shocked one and she then hung up the phone and said.
,,Girls, we need to go to the hospital. Now!" She said and Nina and I looked confused at each other.
Nina turned off the TV and we followed Mrs Pating to the hospital. It was already dark outside and Mrs Pating had no car, so we had to walk to the hospital, but it wasn't that far away.
,,Mrs Pating, why do we need to go to the hospital?" Nina asked and she got no response.
,,Mrs Pating, where are mom and dad?" I asked and I also got no response.
,,Mrs Pating, why are we walking in the dark to the hospital without our parents?" Nina asked and once again she got no response.
,,Mrs Pating-" I said, but she interrupted me and took my wrist in her hand.
,,Shut up! I don't have an answer for any of your question yet. If you wanna know, then move your asses faster to that hospital. I should have been home for hours and I'm still here with you so you better do what I say. Got it?" She yelled in my face and Nina pulled me to her and took my hand in hers as she saw the tears in my eyes.
We followed Mrs Pating without saying anything. I felt tears in my eyes and wasn't able to see anything. I only let myself be guided by Nina.
I was scared and tired and I just wanted to go home and be with my parents.
We got at the hospital a few minutes later and Mrs Pating pulled us after her to the reception.
,,Where are Mr and Mrs Cabello?" Mrs Pating asked.
,,Are you family?" The woman at the reception asked.
,,No, but they are their daughters. I'm the nanny and I don't know if they have any other family members." Mrs Pating said and the woman looked at us with a sad facial expression.
,,Mr Cabello died at the impact and we're doing our best to rescue Mrs Cabello, but it's not looking good." The woman said and I looked confused at Nina.
,,Nini, what did she say? I don't understand." I said, but Nina looked like she froze. ,,Nini?"
,,Could you go with the girls in the waiting room until the child's protection arrives?" The woman said to Mrs Pating and Mrs Pating nodded before she pulled us in a room after her.
,,Who died?" I asked and got no response. ,,What is an impact?" I asked again and got once again no answer. ,,What is the child's protection?" I asked and got again no answer. ,,Why do we have to wait here? Where are mommy and daddy?" I asked and got again no answer.
I WANTED ANSWERS! Why wasn't anybody answering me?
,,NINI! Answer!" I yelled at her, but she didn't move. She was just frozen.
,,Camila! Be quiet!" Mrs Pating said.
,,Not if you don't answer me!" I said and sat in the middle of the waiting room on the floor.
,,Camila, stop acting like you are five. I'm not the person to answer you the questions." Mrs Pating said and Nina suddenly started to cry. ,,Nina..." Mrs Pating said with a sadness in her voice and pulled Nina into a hug.
,,Why are you crying? I don't understand anything!" I said and started crying too because everyone knew something that I didn't understand.
What did the lady at the reception say about my parents? Where are my parents? Who died? What is an impact? And what is the child's protection?
,,Are here two girls named Camila and Nina Cabello?" A woman asked as she entered the room where we were.
,,Yes. This is Camila and this is Nina." Mrs Pating said and first pointed at me who was sitting in the middle of the room crying and then at Nina who was sitting next to Mrs Pating crying too.
,,I'm gonna take care of them from now." The unknown woman said and smiled at Mrs Pating.
,,Who are you? Where is mommy?" I asked and wiped my tears away.
The woman walked closer to me and sat next to me on the floor.
,,I'm Luise and your mom is right now fighting to come back to you, but if she won't be able to succeed I'm going to be there for you." The woman said and Nina started crying even louder and I was still confused.
,,Where is she? Why is she fighting? With who is she fighting?" I asked and wiped more tears away thinking about mom fighting with a dragon or something crazy like that.
,,Well-" Luise started saying but got interrupted by Nina.
,,Mom is dying! She got in a car accident!" Nina said and pulled her legs closer and continued crying.
,,Is it true? Please tell me it's one of your bad jokes, Nini." I said and looked at Nina hopeful waiting for an answer.
,,I'm sorry..." Luise said and I started to cry realizing what that meant.
,,Where is daddy? I want daddy!" I said between sobers.
,,He...already died..." Luise said and I turned around not wanting to look at anyone and started crying even more.
I closed my eyes hoping I'd wake up as fast as possible from this nightmare. At some point I felt some arms around me and as I opened my eyes, I saw Nina hugging me and just cried together with her.
Time passed incredibly slow and it felt like Nina and I cried there for days, but in reality there were just a few hours.
,,I'm sorry..." I heard a nurse or a doctor or whatever say to Luise and I broke the hug with Nina.
,,What? What did she say?" I asked feeling myself getting angrier.
,,I'm sorry, girls..." Luise said and Nina started crying again, but I was angry. They had my mom. They could've done something! Anything!
,,No! You are lying! How should we know you say the truth! Mom is still there!" I said angrily and ignored all the people in the waiting like I did since we got there.
,,Look kid... I'm a doctor and I hate giving bad news and I hate even more to give it to kids, but we did everything that was in our power..." The doctor that talked to Luise said and I just didn't want to believe her.
They were lying! They were all lying! I know that! Mom and dad would never leave us! They are alive and all these people are lying to us!
