Arvin Russell x reader

I rolled over in bed as I felt Arvin sit up. The sun hadn't even started to rise and he was awake already.

"Arvin? Baby, what are you doing up so early?" I asked, he turned around to look at me and I saw the bags under his eyes.

"I can't sleep..." he whispered and I held out my arms. He leaned back and wrapped his arms around me, sighing into my neck, but he still didn't relax.

"It's been five years..." he whimpered and I traced small circles on his biceps, a small attempt to soothe him.

Every year, on the anniversary of Lenora's death, Arvin got like this. He was sad for the whole day and never took care of himself. It pained me to see him like this.

After Lenora's death, Arvin came to New York, and that's where we met. New York City in 1970     (I don't remember the year, sorry). We dated for about a year and married a few weeks later.

"Baby, I know I it's hard, but you gotta try and think happy thoughts. Remember the good times with her," I whispered and he sighed.

"I don't know what I'd do without you Y/n," he said and nuzzled his head deeper into my neck.

After a few more minutes of quietness, Arvin finally relaxed and his breathing evened out. I kissed the top of his head and ran one of my hands through his hair.

That morning when I woke up, Arvin wasn't there. I sat up and got out of bed. The wood floor sent a shock up my legs.

Walking out of Arvin and I's shared bedroom I saw Arvin standing in the living room. He was holding something in his hands.

When I walked up to him, I saw it was a picture of him, Lenora, his grandmother, and his uncle. They were all smiling, something I rarely ever saw on Arvin's face.

"Arvin?" I whispered, careful not to frighten him. He looked up at me, trying to wipe the tears away discreetly.

I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.

"It's ok to cry," I said and he nodded. Letting the tears go freely down his face. I held him as he sobbed.

After a while, he calmed down and was able to look at me.

"I want to start a family," I said suddenly and I widened my eyes.

"W-what?" I stammered and Arvin turned to face me fully.

"I want to have a kid. I feel like we're ready," he said and my mouth dropped open.

"Y-you think w-we're ready?" I asked and he nodded.

"I do," he said, a smile forming on his face and I laughed.

"Yes!" I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him.

Ten months later I laid in bed as Arvin stared at the two cribs in front of him.

The twins, two girls, were fast asleep as he stood above them.

Charlotte and Lenora are what he decided to name them. Charlotte, after his beautiful mother, and Lenora, after his sweet sister.

"Arvin," I whispered and he turned away from his daughters, a small smile on his face.

"Yes, baby?" He whispered, crawling on the bed next to me.

"I love you," I whispered and he smiled even wider.

"I love you too Y/n, and I love Charlotte, and Lenora," he whispered looking over at the twins.

"I love our family."
