Tom and Y/n were standing backstage, joking around as their co-workers rehearsed their songs.

They had been cast in the broadway musical Les Misérables as the innkeeper and his wife, Monsieur and Madame Thénardier.

The outfits were incredibly hard to move around in but the couple loved wearing them despite that. Tom wore a striped yellow suit, his face wasn't painted yet because it was only rehearsal but he wore the pirate hat that made his head look funny and Y/n kept knocking it lopsided.

Y/n was wearing a red dress with a black belt and pouffy sleeves. Small, round, black glasses sat on her face and her hair was pulled into the most unusual looking hat.  The "guests" were singing the wedding chorale while Tom and Y/n were supposed to be getting ready to go on but in the moment of messing around, they had forgotten the cue.

"Holland! L/n! That was your cue!" The director, Harry Holland shouted through a megaphone, the actors onstage stopped and turned to the couple who was trying to hide behind each other.

They heard Harry sigh as he pulled the megaphone up to his lips.

"Take five everybody," He said, and stood up, walking away from the director's chair.

The cast walked off the stage, including Zendaya, who was playing Cosette, and Timothée Chalamet who was playing Marius.

"Maybe the two of you working together wasn't such a good idea," Timothée joked as Zendaya elbowed him in the ribs.

"They are adorable, I think it's amazing to be able to work with someone whom you love and trust," Z said, sending a wink the couples way as she dragged her male coworker away from the two lovers.

Harry was the next to come over to them.

"I hope you two aren't planning on messing around like this during the actual play," He said with a serious look and tone.

"Am I hearing correctly? Being bossed around by my own little brother?" Tom joked but Harry didn't show one hint of amusement.

"Yes, Harry, we will be-" She had to take a deep breath because Tom's hand had reached around her waist, the tips of his fingers tickling her sides, "on our best behaviour," Y/n said, barely making it through her sentence without laughing. Harry just rolled his eyes and walked away from him.

"Tommy, we can't mess around tomorrow, you know how much this means to Harry, to be directing a Broadway play," Y/n said, wrapping her arms around Tom's neck and pulling him closer.

"What? I'm just having a little bit of fun with my favourite girl," He whispered, leaning down slightly and giving her a quick peck on both sides of her face.

"Ok but tomorrow it's serious, no playing around and no-" Y/n was cut off as Tom leaned down and captured her lips in a deep breathtaking kiss.

Y/n was startled for a moment before melting into the kiss, pulling Tom even closer to her before a voice cut through the air and interrupted their sweet moment.

"Tom! Y/n! No kissing in those costumes unless you have an identical replacement!" Harrison Osterfield shouted as the couple pulled apart.

Tom flipped his best mate off as he pulled Y/n over to a more private place...to help her take her costume off.

The opening night had Harry Holland in a constant state of worry. Nobody was moving fast enough and the curtain call was seemingly hours off.

Much to the young man's worrying, the show ran by smoothly and it was already the second act. Tom and Y/n had made it through four out of their five songs without so much as a giggle, professional as ever.

That was, until "Beggars at the Feast" the last song that was required of the two and Tom had thought it would be a good idea to give Y/n a quick peck on the cheek as a bit of good luck.

Unfortunately, he had failed to remember that while the rest of his face had been painted white like the aristocratic look, his lips had been painted red to look fuller. A bright red outline rested on Y/n's left cheek as her makeup artist, Jeremy, looked like he wanted to pass out.

"What the hell Tom?!" Jeremy said, trying to figure out what to do with the lip mark printed on the young woman's face. Y/n couldn't help the giggles that fell past her lips as Tom shrugged.

"Oops?" He said, trying to keep a straight face.

"Alright, alright, it's fine, it looks like the character anyway," Jeremy tried to convince himself as the couples' cue to perform got closer and closer. "Just go...just go," Jeremy whispered, covering his eyes as the two waltzed onto the stage, professionalism taking over as they did their job.

Tom couldn't take Y/n seriously though, with the bright coloured lipstick sticking out against the bright stage lights. He let out a quiet giggle as they pretended to mingle with the other "guests" taking things out of their hair and off their plates when they were looking.

Y/n on the other hand couldn't keep a straight face when Tom started to giggle. She made eye contact with him, silently begging him not to start laughing again, but of course, he did. The theatre of over fifteen hundred people failed to notice how the couple laughed and giggled with each other as the actors playing the servants carried them off of the stage.

They were both set down carefully and their mics turned off as soon as possible once their scene ended.

The couple burst out laughing, covering their faces as they got dirty looks from the stage crew.

"What was that?" Y/n asked, through a fit of giggles and Tom had to sit down on the ground to regain his breath.

"Y-You look ridiculous!" He said, tears forming in his eyes as he looked up at his girlfriend. His statement only made Y/n laugh even more and she sat down next to him.

"Says the one who has a moustache drawn from eyeliner," She said and their laughing started all over again.

Harry was finally content with himself when Zendaya and Timothée took their final bow and the curtain closed.

It had been a stressful night for him, mainly because of the two "comedians" on set. Tom and Y/n had their costumes taken away almost immediately and their makeup washed of their face with an extreme hast.

Harry didn't even want to acknowledge the two as the cast was handing out flowers, but it was required and he went up to his brother.

"Yes?" Tom said, feigning a cold look.

"...Thank you..."

"What was that? I couldn't hear you," Tom said, wrapping his arms around Y/n's waist.

"I said thank you...for doing your jobs," Harry said and Tom couldn't help but smile.

"No problem," He said smugly, leaning down and kissing Y/n's other cheek. "Anything for you baby brother."
