Chapter 49

Starting S4 E1: The Dark Moon

Stiles said" Okay, bub, remember what we planned?"
I said" I stay in jeep, you go die?" He rubbed the sides of his head,
" So, you think this is stupid, huh?"
" Yep! Why bring me?"
" Because you are terrible at lying, and you'd have let slip... and because I didn't have anyone to babysit you."
" I donwanna stay alone."
" We're trying to get into a club to speak with a hunter, who kidnapped Derek. There's no way I'm letting you in there." I let my claws out and held onto the seat," You wouldn't-" I lightly moved my hand," I liked you when you were a baby more!" I giggled, he groaned," Ever tell dad this, I'll kill Tigger."
" Nuh uh!"
" Yuh huh!" I pouted," Just stay here, okay? We'll be back in a few hours, okay?"
" Fine!"
" I owe you, another."
" That's 5 in total."
" Good!" He kissed my head then walked away with Lydia, I sighed and sat down, playing with Tigger.
It's been a while, I heard Scotty's roar, I looked around, my eyes glowed, I gulped.
I got out of the car, then I was lifted up by a man, I squirmed, then I was grabbed by the neck.
I said" Let go! Let go! Let me go!" I squirmed harder," Ahhh! Let go of me! Let me go! Who you?!"
I was thrown into a room, I hit the floor, a woman grabbed my arm, I saw Scotty break chains.
She said" Say the name, Scott."
Scotty said" Kate." I tilted my head, Kate?

We were let go, Stiles was holding me in his arms, Scotty was talking to the woman. Stiles walked to Scotty,
He said" So, what now?"
Scotty said" She thinks she knows where we can find Derek."
Malia said" She gonna tell us where?"
" Uh, actually, she's giving us a guide." A girl pulled up on a bike,
" You know her?"
" Braeden."
Kira said" Who's Braeden?"
Lydia said" She's a mercenary."
Braeden said" Right now, I'm the only one who's gonna take you to la iglesia."
" The church?"
Stiles said" What's the church?"
Braeden said" It's not a place you'll find god."

We were following Braeden,
Malia said" Okay, I'll ask. Who's Kate Argent?"
Kira said" Uh, I'd like to know, too."
Stiles said" Well, we were at her funeral. So, I'd like to know how she got out of a casket that was buried 6 feet underground."
Scotty said" She was never in it."
Lydia said" She was Allison's aunt. And a total sociopath."
Kira said" You don't have to talk about it now if you don't want to."
Malia said" Um, yes, he does."
Scott said" Yeah, she's right. You guys should know. You need to know."
Stiles said" All right. Kate was the one who set the fire that killed most of Derek's family."
" Some of them survived, like Cora, and Peter."
I said" A very angry Peter."
" Yeah, he's the one who bit and turned me."
Lydia said" And the one who finally caught up to Kate and killed her."
Stiles said" And we saw her buried."
Scotty said" No. We saw a casket, remember? She wasn't in it. The Calaveras heard that Kate had been killed by an alpha's claws. They wanted to make sure she was really dead. Her body was healing. More and more, as she got closer to a full moon. She was coming back. So they switched out the bodies, they took her. If a hunter is bit, they have to take their own life before they change. The Calaveras, they treat the code like law. They make it their responsibility to enforce it."
Malia said" Good for her. I wouldn't do it either."
" Would you kill half a dozen people to get out? Because that's what she did."
Kira said" So Kate's a werewolf now?"
" I don't know. You know, there's a saying, sometimes the shape you take reflects the person you are."
Lydia said" What kind of shape is a sociopathic bitch?" Then Stiles swerved. Scott wrapped his arms around me, Stiles stopped the car and we jumped out.
Scotty put me down,
Braeden said" What happened?"
Stiles said" I don't know. It felt like we hit something."
" Scott, we need to get there by night. It's too dangerous otherwise."
" Go."
Scotty said" Not without you."
" Dude, someone needs to find Derek. We'll figure something out. We always do. Just go."
" Okay." Scotty walked away, I looked at Stiles, Scotty and Kira hugged then Scotty left.
Malia said" Stiles, I don't think we hit something. I think something hit us." She showed him a spike thingy, he looked at it, grabbing it, I gulped and jumped off the front of the jeep.

Stiles was trying to fix the jeep,
Lydia said" Maybe we should just walk."
I said" No!"
Stiles said" Hey, I will never abandon this jeep. You understand me? Ever. Ever."
Malia said" Work faster, Stiles. There's something out here with us." I whimpered, that's never good to hear in the middle of nowhere.

It's dark now,
Stiles said" Lydia, could you please hold the light still for a second? It's really hard to see anything when you keep shaking it like that."
Lydia said" I'm shaking it like this because we're in the middle of nowhere with your broken down jeep and we're being attacked by yet another razor-clawed monster. And I'm terrified."
" Well, just be slightly less terrified. And hold this?" He gave her something out of the jeep,
" What's this?"
" I don't know. I'm hoping it's not important."
" Oh, god." I sniffed the air, then followed a smell, I stopped at a bush, then I saw a skull. It made a scary noise, I screamed, then turned around, running really fast.
I got back to the jeep, I saw Malia and Kira run where I came from,
I yelped" Bone monster! Bone monster! Scary bone monster!" I jumped into the jeep and hid under my blanket.
They got in, Stiles moved me onto his lap, I started falling asleep.

I woke up when Stiles moved and got out, I opened my eyes and saw Scotty and Braeden carrying someone that smelled like Derek but didn't look like Derek.
Malia said" Is that him? Is that Derek?"
Stiles said" Uh, sort of."
