Chapter 14

Beginning of Season 2

I giggled as Stiles made noises again, he's been watching Lydia all weekend! I'm really bored. Melissa looked at him, I waved at her, she smiled, before walking away. I played on Stiles' phone, watching Brother Bear again. Lydia's dad walked out of her room,
He said" He's been here all night."
Melissa said" He's been here all weekend." Stiles finally woke up, I giggled at him, as he pushed the balloon away. He looked at me, I waved at him, smiling.
We walked to the vending machine, I was bouncing around the hallway, Stiles clicked the button. I walked to him,
He said" Seriously? Come..." He hit the machine, I rubbed my nose, yawning. Then he shook the machine, then he wrapped his arms around it and tried to really shake it." Just... gah! Its not gonna work..." Then he grabbed the top and shook it, it nearly fell on him! I jumped and ran to him, hiding behind him.
I said" Not work, Stiles." He covered my mouth, lifting me up, then Lydia screamed, I covered my ears. Stiles ran, putting me down at the balloon seat, he ran into the room with Lydia's daddy and Melissa.

Stiles grabbed my hand as we walked to daddy, Stiles called Scott.
Stiles said" 5'3", green eyes, fair-skinned, and her hair is actually strawberry blonde."
Daddy said" Is that right?"
" Yeah."
" Come here." We walked away from Melissa and Lydia's daddy," What the hell are you still doing here?"
" Um... providing moral support?"
" Uh-huh. How 'bout you provide your ass back home, where you should be."
" Okay, I can do that too."
" Yeah."
" Mm." We walked away from Daddy, we looked at the vending machine, Stiles pulled me away.
I said" Not going home?" Stiles lifted me up,
He said" Really gotta teach you to not say everything you think, bub, at least around adults... But we're not going home."

We got to the jeep, Stiles got the gown Lydia was wearing, Stiles lifted me up and got into the jeep.
Scott said" This is the one she was just wearing?" Stiles nodded," I'm not gonna let anyone hurt her. Not again."
Stiles said" All right, just shove the thing in your face and let's find her." I crawled into the backseat," Wow!" Allison!
" What are you doing here? Someone's gonna see us."
Allison said" I don't care- she's my best friend, and we need to find her before they do."
" I can find her before the cops can."
" How about before my father does?"
Stiles said" He knows?"
" Yeah. I just saw him and three other guys leave my house in two suvs."
Scott said" Search party."
" It's more like a hunting party."
" Get in." Allison crawled over Scott, she helped me buckle up. Stiles started driving,
Stiles said" But if she's turning, would they actually kill her?"
Allison said" I don't know. They won't tell me anything. Okay, all they say is, we'll talk after Kate's funeral, when the others get here."
" What others?"
" They won't tell me that, either."
" Okay, your family's got some serious communication issues to work on. Scott, are we going the right way?" Scott's head was out the window, he looked like a puppy!
Scott said" Take the next right!"

We walked up to Derek's house,
Stiles said" She came here? You're sure?"
Scott said" Yeah, this is where the scent leads."
" All right , but has Lydia ever been here?"
Allison said" Not with me." I yawned, making grabby hands to Stiles, Stiles lifted me up. I laid my head on his shoulder, closing my eyes, after a few minutes, Stiles put me down. I whined and walked to Scott, he lifted me up,
Stiles said" Ooh, hey, look at this. You see this? I think it's a trip wire." Then Scott and I were hanging upside down, I whined loudly,
Scott said" Stiles..." I clung to Scott's tummy,
" Yeah, buddy? Oh."
" Next time you see a tripwire... don't trip it."
" Yeah, noted."
" Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Someone's coming. Hide. Go!" Stiles and Allison ran, I jumped off Scott, laying on the ground behind the tree, I saw the hunters, I covered my head, squeezing my eyes shut. I didn't listen till I heard Allison,
She asked" You okay?"
" It's just another life-threatening conversation with your dad." I stood up, walking to Scott,
" Stiles, help me with this." I climbed Scott, and swiped at the wire, he flipped over and caught me. I smiled, laying my head on his shoulder,
" Thanks, but I think we got it."
Stiles said" Yeah." Scott took a few steps,
" Comin'?" Scott rubbed our noses together, I giggled, smiling, laying my head on his shoulder, yawning.

We walked into Stiles' school,
Scott said" She ate the liver?"
Stiles said" No, I didn't say she ate it. I just said it was missing. And you know what? Even if she did, so what? It's the most nutritious part of the body."
" I never ate anyone's liver."
" Yeah, right, 'cause when it comes to werewolves, you're a real model of self control. Actually, wait- hold on. You're the test case for this, so we should be going over what happened to you."
" What do you mean?"
" I mean like what was going through your mind when you were turning, you know? What were you drawn to?"
" Allison."
" Okay, nothing else? Seriously?"
" Nothing else mattered. But, no, that's good, though, right? 'Cause the night that Lydia was bit, she was with you."
" Yeah, but she was looking for... Jackson."

I was chewing on my hand, waiting for Scott and Stiles, I felt a sting, I whimpered and saw a bite mark on my hand. I ran to Scott and Stiles,
I said" Stiles!" I tugged at his shirt, he looked down, then nudged Scott, Scott looked down, I showed them the mark. Then it went away, I gasped, yelping, Stiles grabbed my hand, hiding it.
Stiles said" Shh, shh..." Scott crouched down, and looked at me,
Scott whispered" You know how you healed before, your ankle?" I nodded my head," Well, that happened to your hand too, it's what we are, remember?" I tilted my head,
" It's super cool, you're like a tiny sidekick." I giggled, smiling, Scott stood up, lifting me up," Okay, here." He handed me his phone, I started watching Brother Bear.
" Are we just avoiding the talk we really need to have?"
" He has no filter, Scott, he says anything to anyone without a beat."
" That'd be bad."
" Thank you."

We were in their class,
Stiles said" All right, it's causing me severe mental anguish to say this, but he's right."
Scott said" I know."
" What if the next body part she steals is from someone who's still alive?"
Their teacher said" This is a pop quiz, Mr. Stilinski. If I hear your voice again, I may be tempted to give you detention for the rest of your high school career."
" Can you do that?"
" Well, there it is again. Your voice. Triggering the only impulse I've ever had to strike a student repeatedly and violently. I'll see you at 3:00 for detention. You too, Mr. McCall?"
Scott said" No, sir." I looked at Stiles, tilting my head, then laid my head on his shoulder.

I woke up, Scott was carrying me, I saw an ambulance, they got on the ground.
Stiles said" What the hell is Lydia doing?"
Scott said" I don't know."
" What kept you from doing that, was it Allison?"
" I hope so."
" Do you need to get closer?"
" No, I got it." Scott went to get up, Stiles stopped him,
" Just... I just need you to find her. All right? Please, just... just find her."
" I will." Scott put me down and ran away, I looked at Stiles, I sniffed the air, tilting my head.
" What, Riley?" I sneezed,
I said" That not Lydia."
" Huh? What does that mean?"
" Lydia smells like flowers..." I pointed to the ambulance," Doesn't smell like flowers."
" Well, little dude, it's been a whole day, I'm sure she doesn't- hold on, can you track her?"
" Huh?"
" Can you follow smells?" I nodded my head, he bit his thumb," Probably better than Scott, since you're a born wolf, there's no telling how strong your powers are." I looked at him then the woods, then back to him," Don't even- No, Riley." I ran away from him, going to find Scotty to tell him.

I was lifted up by the back of my neck, I turned my head and saw Derek, then I saw Scott,
Derek said" Riley, close eyes, cover ears." I closed my eyes and covered my ears, I couldn't hear anything, I uncovered my ears after a few minutes." Why we need each other. The only way to fight them is together."
Scott said" What are they doing?"
" Declaring war."
