Julie's POV

"Go get us your laptop, iPad, iPod, and everything else you've got up there!" Mam snapped as we walked into the house - slamming the door shut behind her

"Mam! It's not even that serious!" I huffed

"Enough of this bratty behavior! Go get us your sh*t!" She yelled, but I was having non of it

"No!" I folded my arms across my chest in protest

"Julie.. I'm giving you five seconds" she raised her hand up and began counting down

"Five" She watched me thinking I was going to run and listen to her

"Four" She raised her eyebrow

"Three"

"Two! ONE!" She shouted loudly

"Happy New Year!" I jumped in my spot, and I could see her trying to hide her smile

"You're grounded for two weeks! That's it!" She snapped, walking off to the front room

"You can't do that!" I protested, following in her steps

"I can, and I will" She said ending the conversation, she took a seat beside Mum who had yet to say anything

"Mum? Help me out here!" I whined, she looked up from the book she was reading and took off her glasses

"I'm not getting into this, why has the school called anyways?" She didn't want to get into it, yet she was asking questions - typical Mum

"Because Officer Dick face is an asshole!" I stomped my foot - I was acting like a child and I didn't care

"I agree with your Mam, you're grounded! Go get your stuff from your room" She said, getting a smug look from Mam

"You didn't even ask me what happened" I whispered, trying to play the victim card

"What happened?" Mum asked, she signaled for me to come sit beside her and I knew I had this in the bag

"I was kissing Libby, because she was leaving you know-" I began, my facial expression changed to 'innocently hurt'

"-And then they called us thorough the intercom to go to the office! He's a homophobic! I swear" I said sadly, Mum pulled me into her side allowing me to rest my head against her chest - my hand automatically stroked her baby bump

"It's hard being in a relationship with a girl and being a teenager.. Nobody understands" I bit my lip, I felt so bad for lying - but there was no way I was getting grounded

"Has someone been giving you a hard time about it?" She asked gently, running her fingers through my hair

"Just looks from teachers, like they don't approve" I whispered, now I was feeling bad because my parents were feeling bad. Why couldn't I be an asshole and not give a sh*t?

"You accept who you are, don't you Jules?" Mam asked

"Yeah of course.. But I'm not a lesbian, it's really just Olivia" I shrugged

"And I hate these labels they put! Just because I'm with a girl doesn't mean I have to be labeled as a lesbian" I huffed, snuggling further into Mum

"As long as you're happy that's all that matters. Don't let anyone's opinion bring you down"

"Are we going to have her go to school tomorrow?" I asked Cheryl, Julie had gone up to do some homework she had - giving Cheryl and I some alone time
