Part 37

Julie's POV

'Beep Beep. Beep Beep' the sound of a heartbeat monitor was playing in the background. My eyes were still closed, my eyelids failing to open. My right hand was clasped with another hand. I gave all the energy I could to give it a squeeze

"Julie?" I heard mam speak, I gave her hand another squeeze

"Kimba get the doctor!" she said, I could hear it in her voice how terrified she was

"Mam" I finally was able to get some words out of my mouth

"I'm here" she said kissing my hand

"Miss tweedy-walsh I'm going to shine this light into your eyes" He warned me before burning my retina with the flash of his light

"Aghh" I said out of pain. I quickly covered both my eyes when he turned the light off giving them a little rub before finally opening my eyes, adjusting to the light in the room. Mam and Mum were to my right, Bradley was standing in a corner, the doctor standing on my left and a strange man standing at the foot of my bed

"Ms. Walsh, Ms. Cole she'll need to take it easy this week, she has some cracked ribs, and her face has some bruises which should be gone within the next 2 weeks. I've prescribed her some painkillers and some creams for her face to quicken the healing process. She should be okay to go home tonight" he explained before leaving the room.

Mam, Mum.. can I have a cuddle?" my chin began to tremble and my eyes flushed with fresh tears as they climbed into my bed and pulled me into them kissing me all over my face and head repeatedly. I turned into mam and pulled her down and whispered into her ear

"Mam.. who is that?" I asked in a low voice so she could only hear me

"Thats-- Um that's-"

"I'm your father." He said sternly. And I couldn't help but feel nothing towards him, I suddenly didn't care to know who my father was. I had parents who cared and loved me more than life, and they were sitting on the bed holding me.

"I'm sorry but you're 15 years late" I said confidently. Mum was hugging me from behind as I rested my head against mams chest. Both their arms wrapped around me

"We can talk about that some other time. Just get better. I'll leave you guys" he said before leaving the room. Bradley stood up

"The police came in earlier and I gave them a statement. I'm sorry Julie I hope you can forgive me" he said looking down at his feet

"You have nothing to be sorry for. You helped me" I smiled weakly at him. We were eventually left alone. Both my parents still holding me, I think they were both afraid of losing me.

"Mum can we go home?" I said after a long silence

We arrived home and I was smothered with pillows and a duvet. They decided to let me stay on the sofa so they could keep an eye on me. I missed them and I still wanted to talk to mam about the other day, I wanted to know what I did wrong? We still didn't talk about the kidnapping and I was thankful for it because I wasn't ready to speak about it

"Bubba you have some visitors" mam said coming into the front room followed by Jake and Libby

"Hey guys" I said weakly. I was quite tired

"Hey baby" Jake said sadly coming over and bending down giving me a gentle kiss

"Hey Jules" a teary eyed Libby said coming over to me and holding my hand

"I'm sorry" she said straight away

"What are you apologizing for?" I said wiping away her tears

"I should have never let you get in that car" she cried hugging me gently afraid she'd break me

"Hey you didn't know! stop it" I said pulling her hair away from her face. we didn't really talk that night as Jake and Libby came for a visit. Jake was holding me never wanting to let go as did Libby. They just wanted my company as did I

"Come on Peanut time for your medicine" Cheryl said later on that night coming in with a cup of water and tablets

"Mam?" I said after swallowing the tablets

"Yeah?" she said sitting beside me stroking my hair

"Are we okay?" I said sadly

"Of course we are"

"Then why couldn't you bare to look at me a couple of days ago?" I asked and her face instantly softened

"Your dad wanted to see you" she said not meeting my eyes

"And that upset you?" I asked her putting my finger under her chin so she could meet my eyes

"Yeah.. I was afraid he'd take you away" I couldn't help but smile and pull her in for a hug. I bit down on my lower lip from the pain that caused as I hugged her

"I love you mam! no one will take me away from you" I said looking her in the eyes and giving her a kiss on the forehead

"I love you too sweetheart" she said with tears in her eyes

Julie's POV

"Can I maybe sleep in your room today?" I asked hopeful afraid id get nightmares

"Of course" mum said helping me off the sofa and up the stairs

"Hey babe sleep in the middle" Mam said taking my hand and helping me get comfortable

"You comfy?" she asked stroking my face

"Yeah thank you" I said with sleepy eyes. Mam and Mum went to get changed and climbed into bed on either side of me cuddling up close to me

"I love you guys" I said before sleep took over
