Eddie arrived very late at home, he was tired, sick, and he couldn't wait to get to sleep.
However, when he's about to open the door there is a note, he recognized the calligraphy, "Richie..." he mumbled, "What are you up to now...".
He took the note and read it.
"Open the door and go to the kitchen"
He frowned and then did as the note said to. Eddie took off his coat and hung it on the chair next to the door and went to the kitchen.
On top of the counter was another heart-shaped note (which, it seemed, was in a badly cut shape).
He read and it said "look above you."
"Wha-" he said, looking up. "Right, ... a... lamp?..."
He turned the note over and there was another thing written... "gotcha fool! Go upstairs."
He smirked, and went upstairs, straight to the bedroom.
Again, there was something hanging on the door, but it wasn't a note, it was a picture, Eddie and Richie in the school ball, their first kiss, it was a remarkable moment and by the way, the picture wasn't that bad.
He smiled, and then, someone opened the door... it was Richie, with a box of chocolates.
- Ri-Richie? What are you doing up late? It's almost 3 am.
- Happy three years together, my love.
- Oh my God, Richie... I...
- You didn't forget it, right?
- Of course not. I just couldn't buy you something, I'm sor-
Richie interrupted Eddie by kissing him and hugging him tightly.
- You're the best gift I could ever have... Eddie Kaspbrak.
