The Real South West
"A needle. Okay. I did not sign up for a needle." Anahit let's out a small chuckle and places the tip of a long, pointy needle into the flame of a burning candle.
"You didn't sign up for a life switch, but here we all are" I bite my lip. She had an exceptional point.
"It won't be bad. I'll hold your hand" Selena offers and my heart skips a few beats at the thought.
"What exactly are you going to do with the needle? You're not going to like, poke me in the butt or anything right?" Selena giggles and Anahit shakes her head with a wry smile.
"No. You see, the ink used in this tattoo is from a Henbane plant. A very strong bonding agent in the ways of my world. It's extremely rare... my sister, Spandaramet, must have been growing her own for decades now."
"A magic plant." I say bluntly. At this point, anything and everything was possible.
"Yes. A powerful one at that. I'm going to dip this needle in Salvia laced with melted gold. Then I will trace the mark counterclockwise to reverse the effects." Selena's mouth opens and closes before she finally speaks.
"I'm sorry. You're gonna dip that needle in your saliva?"
"I heard that too" I quip and Anahit shakes her head.
"Salvia. Another magic plant if you will." I nod slowly. Selena snaps her fingers.
