60. Settled

"Welcome to Punchy's diner, I'll be your waiter Aubrey" I smiled at the family of four sitting in front of me, "can we get the breakfast combo" the father suggested "would you like orange juice or apple juice" I asked "orange all around" he told me, "alright, holler if you need anything else" I told them.

I walked to the computer and placed in the order, I looked back at the family, they were all laughing, being happy, the parents were in love, the two daughters must've been grateful.

I got a call from Stiles, he's been going crazy about seeing supernatural stuff and trying to find something that we can save, I told him to contact me when he actually finds something, I hit the decline button and started putting together the breakfast combo.

"Aubrey, if you stay another second you'll be late to school, go" my coworker, Maria told me, I hung up my apron, "I'm coming right after school" I told her.

I love working like a middle class citizen, I wanted to have Olga and Miguel live in my apartment with me, but my mom threatened to deport them, and they're both into some gang related mess, I don't want them to get hurt.

I ran into school, I seen them taking photos out in the courtyard, "Aubrey" I heard Stiles call, "guess who found something".

I sighed and walked over to him, Lydia, Malia, and Scott, "what's up" I asked "okay, so last night we found this kid, he said a horseman shot their car, but the window had a ginormous hole, also their was no bullet in the car" Stiles explained, "so now we have a magic bullet on our hands" I scuffed.

"Can one of you just check it out with me" Stiles asked "after school" Scott told him "this can't wait" Stiles said "I missed 38 classes last semester, the only reason I'm here is because of ms. Martin and dr. Kourtman" Scott excused "I gotta redo my pictures" Malia excused "I can't" Lydia said "and I don't want to" I bluntly said.

I seen Sydney walking up to us with her camera "can I take a candid shot" she asked "see ya" I said to them about to walk away, Scott grabbed my armed and pulled me back, "I look poor" I told him, "you look great" Scott told me, I sat on the table, my legs were in between Scott and Stiles and I was next to Malia.

"If it's not supernatural explain to me why, this is blue" Stiles said holding up a piece of glass with a blue tint.

Scott and I walked to Mrs. Finch trying to scientifically explain how a gun would make glass blue. She told us that the muzzle flash in a gun has chemicals that could burn blue and green but didn't believe that's what made the glass tint.

We walked out her class and found Stiles, "shit, I can't leave school, it's against parole" I told them, "we got it, just tell Lydia we're leaving, and about the glass" Scott told me.

We all sat in worlds history class, Scott and Stiles couldn't get past the warden aka Ms. Martin, so we're waiting for the end of school. I was painting my nails poppy red as some french alliance movie was playing, I looked up to see Lydia staring, like she seen a ghost, or a group of ghost.

As soon as the bell rang, Scott, Stiles and I bolted out the class.

"Stiles open the door for me, my nails are still drying" I told him, he rolled his eyes and opened the car door.

We came across a house, bricks were broken on the outside, when we walked inside we seen no furniture, the paint was scrubbed down, there was a bees nest in the corner, abandoned.

We walked up the stairs hearing creaks on every step, "maybe the boy had the wrong address" Scott guessed.

We seen a closed door at the end of the hall, which was different because the other rooms had no doors.

Stiles opened the door revealing a boys room, blue walls, pictures, a galaxy bedspread, a spaceship lamp.

"I heard footsteps" Scott said, he walked out the room leaving me and Stiles inside.

We started to look at the pictures, in one the had his arm up like it was wrapped around something, but nothing filled the area. There was a picture album the had "# 1 dad" on it, the picture was just the boy.

Stiles crouched down to look under the bed, I went into his closet, "oh god" I heard Stiles, I looked back to see him staring at the window, "what" I asked him, he looked outside the door than immediately shut it, "open the window" he yelled.

I heard a loud bang and seen a hole in the door, "where's Scott" I asked, as I pulled the window all the way up, I heard another bang, and seen another hole.

I faced my back to the window, "come on" I told Stiles, he rushed towards me but instead of of jumping out the window, he held his hands up and shoved my shoulders.

I tripped backwards and flipped out the window. I felt a bed of prickly bushes under me, holding me up and breaking my fall.

I tried to sit up, when I a sharp pain in my arm, I looked over to one of the branches going in one side of my arm and coming out the other side which had more blood on it.

I let out an aching scream, I tried pulling off the branch it was stuck, "oh god" I cried, with my free hand I grabbed the bloody side of the branch and pushed it back out of my arm.

I rolled off the bush and pulled myself up, I seen Liam and Mason running towards me, "the boys' room is empty" Liam told me, "what does that mean" I asked, Scott and Stiles came after them, "it means he's going to disappear" Stiles explained.

"Why'd you push me through a window" I asked "remember what your mom said" Stiles asked.

"Oh don't you worry child, this little damage won't compare to the many ways I will ruin you" my mother told me.
"You're done mom, everything you've did, it's already forgotten" I said.
"You don't know what forgotten is like my darling, I will wipe you off the face of the earth, I will wipe out all of you, you won't know what hit you" she chuckled.

"That's why you keep looking for the supernatural, my mom got to you" I realized "yeah, and I think whoever that horseman is, it won't stop till it gets you" Stiles guessed, my heart race sped up.

We got into Stiles' jeep and he drove me to my job.

I got out of Stiles car, "Aubrey, we're going to protect you" Scott told me, "I know, and by the way, I'm in excruciating pain, please heal this" I gave my arm to Scott through the window.

I walked into Punchy's diner "oh thank god, Kaitlin had to leave, can you take tables, four and seven, also Vanessa is here" Maria told me, she has a child, so she's here early in the morning and late at night trying to provide for her daughter.

I walked up behind Vanessa, and wrapped my arms around her waist, "hi baby" she turned around and kissed me.

"What's up" I asked "well, I came about an hour ago to have lunch with you" she told me, "long story short, Stiles pushed me out of window because he thought something supernatural was happening, but it was just Liam and Mason pulling a prank" mixed in a lie and the truth.

"Oh god Aubrey, remind me why you guys still hang out" she asked "we ended up laughing it off, I'm sorry to keep you waiting" I told her, "I'm going to go home, and you better not keep me waiting there" she seductively spoke, "you got it" I whispered.

I was on the rode driving after my shift, I felt something in my body was uneven, I tried adjusting my seat, wiggling around, but the feeling wouldn't shake, the radio started to static, and my heart started to feel spacious, it doesn't matter maybe I'm just too sober.

I stopped at the house I heard music blaring from, I walked into the house, and seen Jonathan.

"You ready to get stoned bitch" he asked "fuck yeah" I yelled.
