I walked into my house, all the furniture in the living room, replaced with candles scattered around and a wide circle of what looked like salt in the middle of the floor.

My mother and father dressed in black cloaks walked into the living room from the kitchen, my mother had a large knife in her hand "Aubrey, the time for lies are over" my mother mumbled, "get in the circle Aubrey" my father commanded.

"What the actual hell is happening" I asked "the truth" my mother told me, "let's start with this one, why did you give the dread doctors a passage here" I asked "we didn't, you're friends made the road, we just told them which path to follow" my mom corrected.

"Why" I asked "we need to remove a spirit from you" my father said, "what spirit" I asked.

Gram came out of the dark, "the demon tricked you, you weren't supposed to kill, the berserker, the mermaid, or the succubus, once you did, they were no longer allowed to protect you from her" he told me.

"Your pineal gland is larger than the normal one, allowing spirits to freely possess you, you cut ties to the ones that protected you, and an evil force has attached itself to you, we called the dread doctors to give you an injection that numbed half of your pineal gland" my mom told me, "but they said if it keeps not working they would be forced to turn you into their killing machine".

"Gram why didn't you sense this thing when I was with you" I asked, "it tricked me too, it's too powerful" I asked "why do I wake up in the river, with no memory" I asked "when was this, how many times" gram yelled "I don't know, five I think" I said.

"When you forget, the ones you love, she will take over" Gram told me "but she'll really feed if the ones you love forget you" he finished.

"Get in the circle Aubrey" my mother yelled.

I stepped into the circle. Gram placed down another layer of salt.

"Lay on the floor spread out, and close your eyes" my mother told me I followed her command.

"What's going to happen" I asked "we're going to exorcise it out of you" Gram told me "what does the spirit want from me" I asked "your life" my father told me.

I then heard him whisper words, in a different language none of it had made sense.

I woke up in the woods next to a river, I stood up, I seen a young girl on the other side of the river "Aubrey don't trust them, everything your mom has done to you, all the distress they put you through, if you let them do this, everything we ever done, you'll forget, I've been with you, you're entire life if they take me away you'll forget, your friends, you'll forget beacon hills, you'll forget Derek" the girl yelled at me.

I looked long and hard at her, she was me, she was me when I was younger, only twelve years old, when my father told me if I tried to be like everyone else, I'd be nothing, when my mother made me get a hysterectomy, when they pushed me so hard to be like them, making me fall in love with materialized things, and not myself.

The depression my father forced inside my life, and I've just been pushing it deep inside, years lying to myself and hating myself, at the point where all I did was want to die.

They put me through hell.

My eyes flashed opened and they burned as hot as ever.

I let out a tortuous scream that threw my mother, father, and Gram back, the candle lights went out and the salt circle blew away.

I stood up and walked out of the house.

As I was walking in the streets, a black truck pulled in front of me, the door opened "Aubrey you okay" I heard Theo's voice "no" I sobbed, "get in" he told me.
