Chapter 21- Louie

I whirled my head round and looked towards the door. Louie was standing in the doorway. But, he couldn't be! He was in the building when it exploded! How could he even be here??!! "Louie" I gasped. Louie smiled shyly "Hello" he said. I tried to gasp again but it got caught in my throat as I stared at him, wide eyed. Then I realised I was still in the bath and I was naked. Whoops. I pulled the shower curtain over my body, but my eyes never left Louie. He had been looking at me the whole time. God, does he know nothing about a girl's privacy?! "Um," I started in a shaky voice "Do you think we could do this when I get out of here? You know, because of me being naked and all" "Um...OK" Louie said awkwardly and left.

I sat there, paralyzed in shock. Louie was alive. Oh my God...what was Kane going to think? By how Flame had described it, it sounded like Kane wasn't to pleased to see him. My point was proven in a matter of minuets. Suddenly, there was a tremendous crash from the boys' bedroom. The there was a thud. And a scream. I then heard rapid footsteps going into the boys' bedroom. Then there was another crash.  I clambered out of the bath and got dried and dressed as quickly as I could and then dashed through the corridor into the boys bedroom.

As soon as I entered, there was silence. Louie had Kane pinned to the far wall, and Monsoon, Grim and Flame were hiding under the tea table. There was broken glass and cups everywhere. I glanced around, eying every detail, before saying to the younger ones "Why don't you all go down to the dining room downstairs". The young ones hurried out of the room, scared and shocked into silence. Then it was just me, Kane and Louie. Louie still had Kane pinned to the wall. I walked over to them and pushed them apart. Kane balled his hands into fists and stood there, eying Louie. Louie made a screeching noise, exactly like a normal Minja. This made Kane lunge forward, fists flying. "OK, ENOUGH!" I shouted, struggling to keep Kane and Louie separate "ENOUGH!" Finally, they settled down, but they were still eying each other, in the same way two wolves might eye each other before they fight. I took a deep breath, swallowed my anger as best as I could, and began "What the hell have you two been doing in here?" I asked. "I walked in, then he pinned me against the wall exactly like he did in prison!" cried Louie. "You should never have followed us" Kane whispered darkly "You should have just left us alone!", He tried to grab Louie again "Stop!" I shouted "Just stop! Why  were you even fighting?!" "Because, he came back. And he kissed you" said Kane. "OK, he kissed me, it was a one off! What's the big deal? He kissed me, ONCE!" I cried. Kane sighed and bowed his head "Because...because he's a Minja" he said. "I can't help that, can I?!" Louie shouted. Kane looked right into my eyes "You're my friend, Fauna, I don't want anyone to hurt you" "He wasn't hurting me!" I cried, starting to lose my temper "He was KISSING me! There is a difference! Besides, I gave him a broken nose because of it! Why are you fighting because of one stupid kiss??!".

Kane glared at me, his eyes were like daggers, they bore into me, and it hurt "Oh...I see how it is, you LIKED being kissed by a Minja! You want him to do it again, do you?" "I have a name you know!!" shouted Louie. "You can be quiet!" snapped Kane "You're on his side now, are you? After everything you've done for us, you've changed sides, have you?!" I bowed my head, tears coming to my eyes. A steaming anger bubbled inside me, and anger I've never felt before. My throat was close to closing. Then, I screamed at Kane, tears streaming down my cheeks and my heart racing "OF CORSE NOT! I CARE ABOUT YOU AND THE WHOLE GROUP! YES, LOUIE KISSED ME, TRYING TO CALM ME DOWN (which I don't believe) BUT THAT DOSN'T MEAN I LIKED IT! JUST...JUST...SCREW OFF, WILL YOU, JUST SCREW OFF!!" I took another deep breath. There was a shocked silence. At last, Kane said "No. I'm not screwing off and leaving you with him." Louie hissed. Then Kane turned and left the room. Louie went into the bathroom and shut the door. I was left standing in the middle of the room, surrounded by the mess. Then, I flew open the door and ran for all I was worth. In the middle of my run, I collapsed to my knees and cried and cried. I never cry. Never.

Like I said, sometimes I don't understand myself.
