CHAPTER 2: Meeting Him

With a teasing smile on his face, the nerd took a seat. His hazel-blue orbs stare into mine, thus making me shiver - much to my displeasure. 'Impossible' I thought, frowning.

The look, it's what I would expect from a player, not a Nerd.

Him being a player? That's highly unlikely.

I mean, look at him!

"Hi there." I begin, smiling cutely. "I am Tia Frederick and I am from New York City."

"That's wonderful, Tia. Welcome to St. Jude's College." She said, "Would you happen to know someone in the class?"

As I look around the room, I saw Ian, "Ian."

"Please sit with him."

With a smile, I head towards the vacant seat next to him.

"Hello, Ian." I drawl, in a low, seductive tone.

"Hello." He said, stammering.

"Class, listen." The teacher began, "For the next 3 weeks, we will be reading Macbeth." At the sound of the whole class groaning, she began giggling. "Oh stop, it's not a bad book to read, trust me."

Instead of listening, I look around the class - coming to a stop when I saw the nerd, who was sitting there listening to the teacher. Then, from time to time, he wrote notes in his book.

"Idiot." I scoff.

"Class, don't forget to read Acts 1 to 4, and answer questions from 1 to 24." The teacher said the moment the bell rang.

The whole class was more than content, each placing their belongings in their bags, before running out. "We'll meet the others in the cafeteria," Ian said.

"Hi girl, how was the first and second period?" I hear Taylor ask, cheerfully.

I thought of one person, Logan.

"Horrible," I state, irritatingly.

There was a curious look on her face, "Tell me about it."

"I'll explain later." I shrug, brushing off the topic.

Taylor took the hint and didn't ask. 'I barely know but I'm starting to like her....' I thought, smiling.

Once we bought our food from the canteen lady, we walk towards our group table. Ian, being a sweetheart, pulls out a chair for Taylor and I, before taking a seat himself.

"Hi Tia, how have the first two hours been?" Terry asked.

Terry's arms were around Danielle's waist, as she sat on his lap.

"Logan." I snap, angrily.

"Logan. As in Logan Sutherland?" Matt asked, curiously.

"Yes, she is talking about him." Ian said, "He ran into her on his way into class."

"I can't believe him, for someone with a low status, he's daring." I said, "I swear, the next time he's around, I am going to get revenge."

"It's not going to work," Matt said, chuckling. Unknowing to him, I shoot him a cold, glare. "I mean, he is the school's nerd, and-"

All of a sudden, the doors to the cafeteria slam open. A weeping blond ran passed us towards her friend. "He said it was a mere one-night stand, Stephanie!" The girl wept into her friend's shoulder. The girl Stephanie rubbed her friend's back in a soothing manner. "I thought it would be different."

"Care to explain?" I ask.

"The school player," Danielle said, venomously.

"Oh, there's a player?" I smirk.

The thoughts surrounding Logan were thrown out of the window. I didn't feel the need to dwell on him when there was a player walking around the halls of college.

"You're really interested," Danielle said, irritated. "Tia, don't think about befriending him because it's not worth it. You'll fall for him without realizing it. He lures his target in, and once he gets what he wants, they're nothing but a waste of space.

"You talk from experience," I comment.

"He broke our hearts," Taylor said, unhappily. "You know, at first we thought differently about him. I mean, how is someone like him, the player of this college? Though, as Dan said, you'll fall for him without realizing it. In the end, we went after him. We had hopes of changing him. We failed and paid the price..."

"What is his name?" I ask.

Once I find out his name, I'm going to meet him and break his heart.

"Logan Sutherland."

Did I hear right? Logan Sutherland, the nerd?

Someone, please tell me that this is a joke.
