Aphmau

"D-dad!" I smiled, standing up. "H-hi!"

"Is that Zianna's boy?" He asked. "Garroth?"

"Hi, there." Garroth stood up. "Yes, I'm Zianna's son. The one who helped you on Aphmau's birthday."

"I remember.. But you were about to kiss my daughter why..?"

I looked to Garroth, who looked to me, and we both looked past my dad to my mum.

She shrugged, mouthing 'do it on your own'.

"W-well," I started. "I--"

"Your daughter and I have been dating for a little over seven months now." Garroth stated, grabbing my hand an intertwining our fingers.

My father stared him down, but Garroth made eye contact the whole time.

My father looked away, looking at my left hand. "Oh, God, don't tell me I missed a wedding."

"N-no!" I shook my head. "I-it's--"

"A promise ring," Garroth chimed in again, saving my butt.

"A what?" My dad asked.

"Adrian, you know what that it." My mum finally interrupted, lightly smacking his arm. "Come on. They're almost twenty now. "

"Twenty is forty years too young."

"Are we going to have to have that talk?" I groaned. "I'm 19."

"What?" He smiled. "Aphie, if you're happy, I'm happy."

He turned towards Garroth, his eyes narrowing. "But if you ever hurt my princess, you're dead."

Garroth briskly nodded, swallowing hard. "R-right. I can promise you that I won't."

My father nodded. "Good. So, Aphie, your friend came out of his coma today?"

"He did." I nodded. "After being in one for about six months."

"That's good," he nodded back.

"Heeyyyyy, baby! Come on. Just one kiss--"

"Travis, shut up! We're in a hospital!"

A smacking sound could be heard from the doorway of the waiting room.

We turned to see Katelyn, her arms crossed as Travis held his cheek, wincing.

"That's Katelyn for you." My mum spoke up.

Katelyn turned to face us. "Oh, hi, Silvana and--"

Her face fell as she saw my dad.

She doesn't even know he's alive.

"Adrian?" Her eyebrows drew together.

"Hello, I'm Aphmau's father." He extended his hand.

"I-I know who you are." She nodded. "I-I just didn't think you were alive...." She looked to me, trailing off.

"That's my best friend, Katelyn." I spoke up.

"Well, it's very nice to meet you Katelyn."
