Even after our disagreement we had, I still knew that when the time comes, I'd do the time for Mani. I'd be risking a lot, but it's nothing I wouldn't do for Mani.
"Where are you going?" I asked Mani, she was putting on a jacket along with some Jordan's.
"To see my dad," she got the pistol from off the dresser and tucked it in the front of her jeans. "Why?"
"I gotta talk to him,"
I nodded, "When will you be back?"
"I can't give you a time,"
"And why is that?"
"Because if I tell you the time, you're gonna hold me to it," she said,
"Are you gonna be gone for a long time?" I asked,
"Maybe, it depends on if he cooperates with me or not," she said, she opened the safe and got a stack of fresh hundreds then put them in her pocket.

I thought this would be easy, but it wasn't. Since we got here, I haven't let go of Mani's hand. Every now and then she would kiss my forehead and tell me to calm down.
"Kevin Gonzalez, is he here?" Mani asked the receptionist,
She nodded, "Are you family?" she asked,
"Yeah, he's my dad," Mani said,
The receptionist smiled, "I can tell,"
We followed the lady to his room, it was heavily packed with men that were wearing black. I could tell they weren't police officers by their appearance.
"If you get uncomfortable, just squeeze my hand and we'll go, okay?" she said, I nodded. She kissed my forehead before opening the door and going inside. I had a tight grip on her hand.
"What are you doing here?" Kevin asked Mani,
The group of men all looked at me, it felt like they were undressing me with their eyes. "Why the fuck do y'all keep staring at her?" Mani barked,
Kevin said something to one of the guys and soon, they all left.
"I see you brought my play toy with you," Kevin smiled.
Mani closed the blinds before grabbing a chair. She moved it away from him and signaled for me to sit down. I did as she said.
Mani lifted her shirt up, showing him the glock on her waist, "Waste my time if you want to, I swear on my mothers grave you won't live to see another day,"
Kevin seemed so unbothered, he even smiled. Mani pressed the gun to his head and cocked it back, "I'm not fucking around," she said,
"When did you get so tough?" he laughed,
"When your pussy ass left," she said,
"Don't start with me Armani. Besides, I have some news that might interest you," he smiled,
Mani didn't say anything, she grabbed the other chair and pulled it up next to me. "Speak," she said,
This Mani sitting next to me, I'm not familiar with. Her voice isn't the same and the cold look in her eyes scared me.
