"Mads, can we reschedule dinner?" Nick whispered, as Loraine had just fallen asleep, and three-year-old Noah had also succumbed to the embrace of slumber. "Yeah, sure," I smiled, understanding the unpredictable rhythm that parenting often imposes.

As parents of a newborn and a lively toddler, our lives had recently transformed into a delicate dance of sleep schedules and spontaneous adjustments. Nick and I had become adept at adapting our plans to the needs of our little ones. Loraine, just a newborn, demanded constant attention and care, while Noah, at three years old, brought boundless energy and curiosity to our days.

We tiptoed out of the room, careful not to disturb the peaceful realm of dreams that now enveloped our children. The soft glow of the nightlight illuminated the hallway as we made our way to the living room, where our previously planned dinner now seemed like a distant idea.

Mum: Congratulations to you and Nick on the arrival of your baby girl, Loraine. Sending heaps of hugs and kisses. Love you 😘
Madison: Thanks mumma hope you can meet her love you too 💋

As sleep gradually enveloped me, I couldn't help but wonder about the path that lay ahead. The rescheduled dinner had served as a catalyst, opening a door to conversations that had long been postponed. Tomorrow held the promise of new beginnings, and as I drifted into dreams, I hoped that the complexities of our shared history could find resolution in the light of a new day.
