(even tho collingwood and hawks played a few days ago, js pretend that it was like that day for this chapter. idek if that makes sense but sure)

I was at home watching the footy. Collingwood and Hawthorn were versing. Hawthorn were currently in the lead. I went to check my phone when Maleki and Damien suddenly started to howl. "Ouch" Damien said. "How long you reckon he can't play?" Maleki nodded his head to Damien. "Depends on what happened to him" Damien replied. I looked up from my phone. "What happened?" I asked.

"Daicos just got smashed in between two player or whatever had happened there" They had told me. "Nick or Josh?" I asked concerned for whoever it was. "Nick" Damien immediately replied. "Definitely not playing the next game, yeah?" Damien asked Maleki. "Ain't no way he is" Maleki agreed. "Probably not the ones after that, too" Damien said. I felt so bad for Nick, I knew how much he wanted to play. He was so passionate.

And if he misses out for who knows how long - I mean, imagine he can't play finals? He'll be so devastated. Especially after last year.

later that day

Turns out, Nick can't play for six weeks. He was currently at home so I decided to drop off some things for him. "Hello?" I called. "Hey Mads" Nick sighed from the couch. He had one knee up on the table whilst the other was just down on the floor. "Are you ok?" I asked, sitting next to him. "I also brought you some stuff, they're on the table" I added. "Thanks" He mumbled.

"You still played a great game" I said, trying to make him feel better. "No I didn't" He murmured. "Well, I think you played great - you always do" I smiled. "I can't play for six weeks" He spoke up. "Six weeks?" I gasped. "Yeah" He sighed. "I hope you get better soon" I told him. "Thanks" He said, eyes down looking at his hands. "I can't play finals" He sighed.

I didn't know how to respond. "Well, if you guys hopefully make grand finals you can maybe play" I told him. Honestly I wasn't sure if he could. "I don't know" He murmured. "I wasn't even focusing when it happened - I should've not played" He groaned.

"Everyone makes mistakes - we just learn from them" I told him. "Its not entirely your fault, it's an accident" I added. "I just- I stuffed up, for the team and I" He groaned. "No, you didn't, trust me you played so well" I told him. "Really?" He looked up at me for the first time with his beautiful eyes. "Yeah" I smiled. "Thanks Mads" He told me, giving me a side hug.

I missed being around Nick. But I wasn't sure if he missed being around me.

Was it to early to feel like this again?
