Both Nick and Madison's families were close growing up. When Madison had to move to Sydney for 3 years for university she left everything behind in Melbourne. Once returning home, Nick had the biggest glow up... I mean 3 years does make a difference.

I was over at Nick's house. "Nick, is everything alright? You seem a bit off" I told him. "He looked up, his gaze meeting hers before he offered a small, forced smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just got a lot on my mind, you know?"
I frowned, not entirely convinced by his answer. They had always been open with each other, and this sudden distance was unusual. "You know you can talk to me about anything, right? If something's bothering you, I'm here to listen."
Nick's shoulders slumped, and he let out a sigh, the tension in his expression slowly unraveling. "Actually, there is something. It's just... I guess it's been a rough week at practice. I've been struggling with my performance, and it's frustrating me,"
"I'm trying to recover as soon as possible, so I can play and help the team. But, I'm already missing out first week of finals" He groaned.
I placed my hand over his. "You know there's always next year, you don't need to rush anything. Soon enough you'll be running on the field about to score a goal. Don't worry." I chuckled, trying to lighten up the mood.
We just spoke for longer, and I'm happy Nick felt better. I was feeling a bit tired so I decided to head up to Nicks bed and go to sleep.
