Celine had promised to look after Noah while I headed to Isaac's house. I was hoping to see Jack there.

"Hello?" I knocked at the door. I overheard Isaac speaking in a stressed tone, "Bro, I don't know, man. You're disgusting, not once but twice!" I knocked again, this time louder.

He opened the door. "Oh, Mads!" He quickly stepped outside and shut the door behind him.

"Bad timing?" I muttered. "Uh, not really, well, kinda," Isaac smiled. "Jack's not here, is he?" I asked. "Nope, he's still trying to sort things out with the Hawks," Isaac reminded me.

"Ah, I see," I nodded. "I'll come back another time," I said, "I'll see you around."

As I turned to leave, Isaac's expression shifted, and he beckoned me to stay. "Mads, I know what happened," he began, his voice tinged with genuine concern. "I'm so sorry about all that. Nick's a real prick, and a total dog." He paused for a moment before continuing, "But congratulations on the little one. That's wonderful news, despite the circumstances. Please, take care and stay safe."

His words touched my heart, and I couldn't help but smile. "Thanks, Isaac," I said, feeling a sense of support from an unexpected source. "I appreciate that. It's been a tough ride, but we'll get through it."

Isaac's smile grew warmer, and he patted me on the back. "You're stronger than you think, Mads. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to reach out. And don't worry about Nick; he'll get what's coming to him."

With that, we parted ways, and I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope on the horizon.
