Intrigued by the mention of Kendall, I couldn't help but wonder if Nick was messaging my sister Kendall or someone else with the same name. The curiosity gnawed at me, but I didn't want to be nosy or invade Nick's privacy, so I decided to let it slide.
While I pondered Kendall and what she might be checking or discussing with Nick, he walked into the room, his phone and bag in hand. With a swift motion, he switched on his phone, and a smile danced across his face as he scanned the screen. His actions piqued my curiosity even more.
"Bye Nick," I called out, hoping for a bit of clarification.
"Oh, yeah, bye," I heard him reply as he left, his voice carrying a hint of distraction. The mystery deepened as he departed, leaving me with a whirlwind of questions.
As the minutes passed, I couldn't help but replay the brief encounter in my mind. Who was Kendall? What was so interesting on Nick's phone that it made him smile like that? Was it related to something they discussed earlier? Or perhaps it was a private joke between them?
I knew I could ask Nick about it later, but part of me was hesitant. After all, it felt like peering into someone's personal life, even if it was unintentional.
