I groaned and wrapped myself deeper into the blankets. I wasn’t allowed to sleep though, since Grey grabbed me as soon as he saw I was awake. I was kind of dazed, and rubbed my eyes.

“Oh my god, Grace!” Grey cried, clinging to me tightly. “You’re okay!”

I was slightly puzzled. Of course I was okay. Why wouldn’t I be? Come to think of it…I looked around the room. I wasn’t in my comfy bed, or in my room. I was in Grey’s room. What? I thought tiredly. Why am I in here? Grey finally let go, and I tried to stand. To my shock, pain coursed through my stomach, and I collapsed.

“Ouch…” I groaned under my breath. The pain felt like nothing I had experienced before. It ripped through me, and made my breath come in ragged, short gasps. Grey helped me back up, but once I straightened out my body, the pain came back, this time more severe.

“You need to lie down, rest…” Grey whispered. He led me to the bed, where I flopped down. “Stay here, just until you recover enough to walk.”

I nodded. “What happened again?” I asked, my mind a complete blank.

He sighed and sat down beside the bed. He explained what happened, going through every last detail. Through some parts, I found myself clinging to his hand. I almost couldn’t believe that it had happened.

“The strange part is that…” He said, forcing a laugh. “Well, it almost looked like you were trying to get killed!”

Suddenly everything came back in a rush. I clung to the sides of the bed as I thought about what happened. I did try to… I thought with remorse. I tried to kill myself. I almost let that angel kill me… I sighed and Grey gave me a questioning look. I convinced him that it was nothing, and he told me he had to leave. He would be back, but much later. I told him I understood, and started to look at the ceiling. I was still looking at the ceiling when Cecil brought me some food hours later.

“I brought you some soup…” He said quietly. “I didn’t know what you could and couldn’t handle.”

I smiled and, taking a lot of effort to sit up, took the bowl from his hands. “Why thank you.” I said. “This is perfect!”

He blushed and gave a small smile before leaving. I took the spoon and pushed around the noodles in my soup. I wasn’t really that hungry, but I didn’t want to tell Cecil that. I took a sip of it though, and before long, the whole bowl was gone. I guess I was hungrier than I thought! I mentally exclaimed. I put the bowl and spoon down on a table beside the bed, and lay back down. The pain was subsiding, but it was subsiding slowly. Very slowly. There was a knock at the door, and I heard Grey’s voice.

“Hey Grace,” He said. “I’m back!” I smiled, and although I wasn’t looking at him, I knew he must be able to see it.

“Grey!” I said happily. “Come on over! I’m really bored.”

I heard a chuckle. “Oh, you won’t be bored for long…” The voice seemed to change.

Something didn’t seem right. I turned onto my side to see not Grey, but some dude I didn’t know. He flashed me a devilish grin, and walked over nonchalantly.

“Are you ready?” He whispered, his hot breath touching my ear. I shivered, and he brought out a pocket knife. “I’m gonna kill you right here and now…”

I screwed my eyes shut. Was this really happening? He couldn’t be serious…
