Looking around, I found that I was in someone’s house. It was small, but it seemed to be cozy. When I looked through the door in front of me, I saw a familiar face. The girl from before was sitting at a large tree. She seemed older than before, and her hair had been cut so that it was slightly shorter. She seemed to be sulking. Looking from my spot, I saw her as she talked to a woman and man.

“Vaughn!” The woman said, sounding exasperated. “Are you still sulking?”

The girl, I guess her name was Vaughn, looked up, and tears formed in her eyes. “Mom,” she said.

“You can’t make me leave! You can never make me leave!” Her mother grabbed her wrist.

“Vaughn!” she said, struggling to keep anger out of her voice. “You are 14 now! Stop being so difficult!”

“But mom!” Vaughn said. “If I leave, Ceci will be sad! I can’t leave Ceci like that! Besides, we are good friends!”

Ceci...Cecil? I would have kept watching, but the colours seemed to blend again as I appeared in another place. This time I was in the middle of a street. It was dimly lit, and it seemed to be in the middle of the night. I saw Vaughn walking down the street, and turned my attention towards her. She seemed to be looking at a piece of paper. I walked up behind her and read what it said. It was an advertisement for a job at a local doctor’s office. Oh... I thought. it’s just a job advertisement... She folded the paper and walked to an old building. With hesitation, she knocked on the door.

After a minute, the door opened and I gasped. In the entrance was a familiar face that I wasn’t expecting. In the doorway was Doctor Dylan Farrows. He smiled nicely to the girl at his door and invited her into his office. She sat down and looked around.

“Are you here for the job?” Farrows asked. Vaughn nodded shyly. He laughed. “You don’t need to be so shy.” Farrows said. “Just come with me.” I watched as she followed him into a closed door.

I went in myself and found the Doctor with a needle.

“Just let me inject this into you, and I’ll pay you.” She nodded nervously and held out her arm. He went to inject the liquid into the girl, preparing her arm.

“E-excuse me.” Vaughn said quietly. “But what is this exactly?” Farrows slyly let out a grin.

“It’s DNA.” He said. “From an angel. I’m performing experiments to see if I can create an angel successfully.” I took a sharp intake of breath.

It suddenly occurred to me what I was watching. I was watching the lifeline of Vaughn, or in other words, Me. It had to be. I felt faint as the colours swirled around once again. I closed my eyes tightly, and opened them again. I almost felt relieved when I was greeted by broken glass and blood. I looked around for the Doctor, but he was nowhere to be found. I got up slowly and walked to the still-unconscious Grey.

“Grey...” I whispered. “Wake up...” When he didn’t respond, I used the last of my strength to hoist him up over my shoulder.

I exited to find Cecil standing at the exit. He helped me carry Grey over to a bench to lay him down, and seemed curious about what exactly had happened. He didn’t ask though. As we sat there, I watched as Cecil ate some ice cream. I had learned about ‘Vaughn’s life, but the real question wasn’t what did I remember...It was did Cecil remember, and did he know who I was?
