3rd person POV

After Avery's two-week stay in her family rest house, she decided to return home. Which also meant she had to catch up with school since she promised her parents so.

It wasn't all easy since exam week was fast approaching

Avery munched on her sandwich as she reads her math book. Trying to understand the formulas and equations

She slumped down on her seat and placed the opened book on top of her head

"brain please just do your work and absorb all the info I can't take this!" she cried, not being able to understand a thing

"I wish I could help you, but I'm bad at math myself" Mia apologized as she sat across from the troubled girl.

"It's fine, you can help me with the other subjects instead"

"I gotcha" she winked at her friend

Avery continued to struggle with Math while Jay saw the girl from a distance. A smile formed on his face as he made his way to her

"Hey" he greeted her

"Shh! she's concentrating. You can talk to her later" Mia scolded

"What subject is that? maybe I can help you" Jay asked

"Math, and you don't have to. I'm good in math" she lied

The silence was loud as both jay and mia stared at her

"You're shit at math," Jay said truthfully which caused Avery to gasp

"For once I agree with jay" Mia spoke

"Mia, you too?" avery cried, the girl shrugged as a response

"I can help you with your studies if you want to. It's like a review for me since exams are coming up" jay suggested

"That would be great! later at your place?"

"It doesn't matter since we live right next to each other" he smiled as he played with Avery's hair

After a while, break time was over so they had to prepare for their next class. The students lazily listened to their teacher, while Avery listened intently not wanting to fail any of her subjects.

The bell rang implying it was finally lunchtime. The students excitedly got up from their seats and made their way to the cafeteria.

"Did you bring lunch from home?" Jay asked suddenly.

Avery looked at the curious man "Nope. I might be skipping lunch since I do want to catch up with my studies"

"I won't allow that" Jay sat across from avery and placed a bento box on Avery's table

"Let's eat" he smiled

"You made this?"

"Yup. Enjoy! " he said sweetly as he patted her head
