Patton POV
"Everything is going horribly wrong," I cried, Logan gently rubbing my back.

"It'll work itself out," Logan tried to tell me.

"But Deceit and Quinn are gone now," I said, trying to wipe the tears away. "The family is falling apart."

"I'm sure they will return eventually," He said. "They just wanted some time to themselves and to calm down."

"Why did Roman and Remus do something that...stupid?" I asked, extremely disappointed in them and their behavior.

"They didn't know any better," Logan mumbled. "None of us knew what Quinn actually went through."

Another sob racked me. Just thinking about what Quinn must have gone through made me extremely sad. He shouldn't have had to be stuck in a tiny room for two years.

"I wish I had known," I mumbled. "I'm a bad dad. I didn't know and I didn't help him."

"Don't say that about yourself Patton," I told him. "It's not true."

"I should've helped Quinn," I cried softly. "He's my child. My quiet, timid son."

"Patton, it might not be wise to adopt anyone smaller then yourself," He advised gently. "It's only ever caused you heartache."

"No it hasn't," I argued.

"You refer to Virgil as your dark, strange son," Logan said. "In turn that hurt you even more whenever he got hurt, wether by his own hand or Corruption's."

"We all care about him," I said. "Even he doesn't seem to realize that. Anyone would be upset in that situation."

"You call Evan your soft, innocent son," He added. "Which caused you to risk infection when he was struggling with the parasite."

"He needed my help..." I argued.

"Now you call Quinn your quiet, timid son," Logan said. "This caused you to feel a lot of pain when he tried to hurt himself and now your crying because Deceit wanted to protect Quinn, and in turn took him from you."

"He'd be safer here," I said, a little bit of anger flaring in me. I worked so hard so that we'd all be in the mindpalace together. So that we could watch over each other. Safety in numbers. But now Quinn and Deceit have left.

"Deceit doesn't agree with that," Logan told me gently. "He's doing what he thinks is best for Quinn. In this situation, if being away from us helps Quinn mentally and emotionally, it's for the best."
