THE WALSH FAMILY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT IN HAWKINS, INDIANA. After Mikey and Brand Walsh's last adventure looking for buried treasure, they agree to take things slow in this new town. Brand didn't really have to promise anything. It was really Mikey that had to promise not to go snooping for buried treasure.
Not that there was any buried treasure in this town. Unless you convert jewels and diamonds into demogorgons, rhinestones into a missing boy that's been taken to the upside down, pearls as three idiotic boys on bikes, rubies as a girl that can move things with her mind and a pirate ship as Hawkins Lab.
Hawkins, Indiana was making it really hard for Mikey to mind his own business. Especially when he has his own run in with the monster who's face opens up like a flower. Or the blinking lights in his bathroom. After a while, Mikey just says— fuck it. And when he goes searching for clues the first place he looks is The Wheeler House.
The now four boys go hunting for answers about their missing friend, and Mikey just wants to know what was that thing that tried to eat his face off. Or possibly drag him to a parallel universe. Mikey just didn't expect that Lucas would be the X in all the treasure.
WHAT CAN CHANGE : development varies PRETTY MUCH — Stranger Things got its plot from The Goonies and I'm calling it out. Haha, okay but seriously.
The Walsh Family moves to Hawkins and Mikey gets wrapped up in all the strangeness. In order to find out what attacked him, he links up with three boys that are just as eager for clues as him. He just happens to find things out about himself in the process. Like how when Lucas is around, he gets nervous or he blushes every time Lucas addresses him on the walkie talkie. — Mikey Walsh has asthma and is always inhaling from the inhaler — he has an older brother named Brand who you can include in scenes for Nancy, Steve and Jonathan but you don't have to — Mikey discovers his sexuality throughout the chapters and definitely gains massive feelings for Lucas — Lucas is kind of oblivious at first but by the time they're running away from the Bad Men, Lucas starts to reciprocate certain feelings
— you can choose if they end up together or not because this can pick up into season two and Lucas can fall for Max and leave Mikey all sad — yet that would be confusing because Sean Astin plays Bob, but who knows, write what you want — Mikey has braces — you can choose if Lucas and Mikey ever end up kissing but maybe when they're at the gym and Eleven is going underwater, something can happen after or before that scene
