i'm the one that actually babysits dustin, so if anyone is going to battle demo–dogs or–whatever, it should be me.
TEDDY WASN'T LOOKING TO DO ANYTHING BUT babysit his small friend, Dustin Henderson. He thought that kid was a freaking genius. When Teddy came over, they'd actually act out plays of Dungeons & Dragons and make hypotheses together. Teddy related to Dustin so much, especially when Dustin started telling him about this red head who came to town that he's so in like with.
Teddy knew everything about that kid as if he was the back of his hand. Except maybe that was a lie. Teddy didn't know about Dart, this baby version of a demogorgon, or the fact that Will Byers was in another dimension. He didn't know that Dustin and his friends had protected some girl who had powers, and he definitely did not know that there was a fucking Upside Down.
So, Teddy was definitely going to go help Dustin fight those things, and sure— Steve could come too but Teddy was going to get to the bottom of this first. Until then, Steve can stand around and look pretty like he usually does. Wait— pretty?
WHAT CAN CHANGE : uh, Teddy could've already knew about the upside down but just didn't know about dart or that will is an op also this does not have to be a teddyxsteve story and they could actually just end up having a bomb ass bromance
PRETTY MUCH — Teddy is Dustin's actual babysitter and when Teddy has to go looking for him because he wasn't at his house, he finds Dustin and Steve together about to go on an adventure and he wants in. If you keep the love interest as Steve, then Teddy and Steve start to get to know each other and flirt occasionally.
— Teddy gets his ass beat by Billy first and then Steve joins in to also get his ass beat — Teddy is bisexual and you have the power to choose if Steve and him start flirting or what not — they don't get together because Steve is emotionally invested into Nancy but does like being able to go back to a normal flirty Steve with Teddy — Teddy and Dustin's bromance is HEAVYY but Dustin and Steve's bromance is also HEAVYY of course — Teddy is in the backseat when Steve drives Dustin to the dance — pretty much it becomes a trio bromance or more if you put ted and steve together
