Chapter Forty-one

Kendall

The walk of shame. Would what I was currently doing considered that? Or would you actually have to come back home from a night of sex? Which I didn't have so would I just be avoiding my protective big brother. He didn't even sound mad on the phone, so why was I still a tad bit cautious while walking into my apartment. Louis had wanted to walk me to the door when he dropped me off a couple minutes ago. Though I knew from past experiences that that wouldn't end well.

So I was currently sneaking into my own home at eight in the morning on a Friday, which everyone in the house had off. I'd carefully shut and locked the door, then listened for any signs of anyone being up.

"Good morning?"

"Shit," A curse left me as I spun around on my heel, while gripping my rapidly beating heart through my sweater."You son of bitch. What the hell are you even still doing here?" I hissed, at the smugly grinning man.

"A 'good morning Mason' would have been nice." He chuckled, his sea green eyes staring me down. My glare softened slightly as I glanced down at the bowl in his hanf, that was filled with pancake batter.

"You're making breakfast for Trent?" I questioned, with a raised brow.

He nodded while heading back towards the kitchen with me on his tail."Yeah, but I'm also cooking enough for everyone. It's the least I can do since I've been here more than usual." He admitted, his smile morphing into a frown.

"I didn't actually mean that a minute ago. You're welcomed here anytime, same goes for all our friends. Though don't bring your sister over here, she'll never be welcomed. No offense." I told him, as I jumped up to sit on the counter that he wasn't using.

He smiled, while he continued to cook."So where we're you yesterday, and last night?"

"I was with Louis." I mumbled, as a huge grin slipped onto my lips. Just bringing up yesterday had me grinning like an idiot, Louis in general had me grinning like an idiot. Especially when he wasn't being a dick like he was a few months ago.

"So does that mean you two talked?" He asked, when he glanced over at me.

"Well....no, but he did take me on a date." I frowned for a brief moment, before smiling again."He took me to Paris."

Mason had turned back to the food he was cooking, he stirred it before speaking again."Besides not basically getting anywhere. I'm guessing you had fun, because you didn't even make it back last night?" He paused for a moment, before turning to me with a huge grin on his face."I need details."

I laughed,"We didn't have sex Mason."

"I was actually talking about the date." He smirked, "But it's nice to know where your mind is at."

"Anyway," I smiled, while rolling my eyes."He took me to the top of the Eiffel tower, which was beautiful. Rode me around Paris on this cute little scooter..he speaks french. I don't know why him speaking in another language is attractive to me, maybe it's just him. We had this cute little picnic on the hill of an orchard while we watched the sunset."

Mason had a huge smile on his face while I talked and he cooked. I could tell he was still listen, because he was adding comments here in there. And awwing a little more than was needed, but hey I wasn't really complaining. Over time he'd slowly wormed his way into my life with little small talk here and there. And I'd say that he was definitely good company to keep, even if him and Trent didn't work out.

"He told me he loved me, again. Though he didn't look as if he regretted it. We ended up spending the night in an overly expensive hotel, because they were doing maintenance on the tracks."
