I could feel my body radiating in pain. What the hell happened.
I can feel someone holding my hand. By the feel of the hand I can tell it's Dominic.
I open my eyes and I realize I'm in a hospital bed. What the hell happened?
Then I remembered Doug. That did actually happen, it wasn't a nightmare.
I tried to talk but my voice was hoarse and my throat was sore. I remember I was screaming. I clear my throat.
"Dominic."
Dominic opens his eyes and I notice how bloodshot they are. He was either crying or drinking. Knowing Dominic he was crying.
"Are you ok October?"
"I-I don't know. I hurt all over. Especially my head and ribs. It hurts to breath."
"You've got a concussion and bruised ribs."
"Dominic Kinkaid?"
I look up and there was a cop in the door way. What did Dominic do? Did he kill Doug? Is it bad that I hope he did?
"That's me."
"You're under arrest for intent to cause bodily harm."
"Yeah I thought so."
"Between you and me sir I don't blame you for doing what you did. If that was my wife I would of done the same thing.
Will be questioning you at the station."
"Dimitri is in the waiting room."
"I'll bail you out baby."
The cop let's Dominic hug and kiss me before handcuffing him. When the cop takes out Dominic I push the call nurse button.
Few seconds later a nurse came in.
"You're awake. How do you feel dear?"
"Things hurt."
"I'll go get you some pain meds."
"Oh also my cousins in the waiting room. Dimitri Kinkaid can he come back."
"Of course."
Few minutes later the nurse came back with a syringe. She injected it into my IV line.
"Hey Halloween."
"Hi Dimitri."
"How do you feel?"
I completely ignored his question.
"Dominic got arrested. Can you go bail him out."
"Yeah."
It's bad enough I'm gonna have to talk to Dominic, I really don't want to talk about this more then once.
"October?"
"Yeah?"
"Your husband brought you in and had consented to treat you. But since you're awake we have questions for you."
Great.
"Ok."
The nurse sits down next to my bed.
"We did a rape kit and you did have vaginal tearing and some bleeding."
"My husband and I were having sex yesterday. Few times."
They told me all the tests they did and everything they told Dominic.
"When can I go home?"
"We're keeping you for a couple days. Make sure you don't have any internal bleeding from your ribs and for the concussion."
Great.
"I'll have someone bring you up something for lunch."
"Ok."
Dominic's POV.
I'm sitting in a holding cell waiting for Dimitri to show up. The cop that arrested me told me I broke Doug's nose and both orbital bones. He needs surgery before they take him to jail.
Piece of shit wish I would have killed him.
"Kinkaid!"
I look up and see one of the cops.
"Bails been posted."
I get up and walk out of the cell we walk around to the front of the station and I see Dimitri.
"Hey you ok?"
"Yeah apparently we've got a lot of fans in jail."
"Cool."
"Will be sending you a statement for yours and Doug's trail dates. More then likely yours will be dropped giving the circumstances."
"Thank you."
Dimitri and I walk out to his car.
"That cop seemed cool."
"Yeah he was. Gave me my own cell for a selfie. He's big Asylum fan."
"Nice. Now let's get you back to the hospital."
All I keep thinking is being by October's side. She can't be alone through this.
I'm starting to hate hospitals.
"Have you said anything to Lynn?"
"I didn't think it was my place to say anything."
"I'm sure she's been calling you."
"Yeah she has. A few times."
"What have you said?"
"I haven't answered any calls."
"Oh shit. She's gonna kill you."
"Yeah but when she finds out she'll understand."
We get to the hospital and I go to the window to get buzzed back.
"Your wife has been moved to the second floor. She has to stay over night. Room number 256."
"Thank you."
Dimitri and I go to the elevator taking it to the second floor. I go to the nurses station.
"Hello can you tell me where room 256 is?"
The nurse behind the counter starts typing in the computer.
"I'm sorry sir but Mrs. Kinkaid has asked us to not let any visitors in."
"I'm her husband!"
"I'm sorry sir."
What the fuck?
Why wouldn't she want to see me?
I was with her earlier and she seemed as good as you would expert a person to be in this kind of situation.
What the hell changed?
