The week went by slowly for everyone. They'd get up, go to the training room, do different types of work outs or work on their skills, then go to bed. The next day they'd do it all over again.
Today was the last day they had. Bradley and Alja weren't back from trying to get back up and the only healer they had was in a coma.
Kat was in the library, chewing on her nails due to the fact she was nervous, studying Healer spells.
Chester walked into the library and saw Kat, he walked up to her and sat in a chair. Spinning it around so he was sitting in it backwards. "Whatcha doin'?"
"Oh... Studying spells... Healers and Mages both use magic, so I thought maybe I could learn some before... we battle."
Chester clicked his tongue. "That sucks. If the only this league wasn't filled with pathetic cowards, you wouldn't have to do this extra work."
"It's fine..." Kat muttered, her attention back onto the spell book.
Chester rolled his eyes and stood up, he walked over to a bookshelf and started looking at the different books.
He bit his lip as he saw a comic book.
Five minutes afterwards, Koji walked in. His body covered in sweat with his hair in a pony tail.
"Kat, Chester. We need you." He bit his lip and looked to the left. He sighed. "We're going to open Maui's diary. Meet us in her room." He then turned around and left.
Kat stood up immediately and started to follow Koji, speed walking a bit. Chester didn't move for a couple minutes, but eventually turned around and followed the other two.
Soon enough everyone was in Maui's room. Gathered in a tiny crowd. Koji held a brown book in his hand, while Zero held a black one.
"Zero, what're you holding?" Luna asked, raising an eyebrow as she starred at him.
Zero didn't answer her, instead he opened the book to a certain page number and set it on the desk. Letting everyone see it.
Lily eyes widen, she tilted her head. "I-isn't that..?"
"Even though it doesn't really matter at this point... I did research on Sonia's necklace and I found a whole two pages talking about it." Zero said with a serious tone. "It's very rare and no one knows which royal family can use it... Except us."
Lily looked down.
Kat spoke up. "Let's open the diary now...."
Koji nodded, putting it on the desk where everyone can see it. He opened to page one and started reading.
The date in the right hand corner was scratched out.
Dear Journal.
Iki said I should make one of these... He said it'll be fun to read about our adventure when we're in our thirties.
I'm suppose to write down what we did the day so....
We made it to our first village. We already got a mission, we're suppose to help an elderly couple find their missing daughter.
Iki is excited about it, I don't understand why though.
Well it's time to go to bed so I guess I'm supposed to write to you tomorrow.
Hm.
Koji turned to the next page, blood visible on this page. The date was also scratched out.
Dear Journal
We found the missing girl. No one kidnapped her or anything, she just ran away from home because she was tired of the crap she dealt with.
We convinced her to go back though.
Iki did most of the convincing.
We're leaving this village and headed to another one, then we're going to a big town.
Iki just gets more excited and more excited.
I keep getting bored and more bored.
Eh.
Koji turned the page again, half of the page was covered in blood. Chester muttered something but no one heard him.
Dear Journal
Today Iki said something weird.
He said I acted like I had a crush on him.
A crush?
What's a crush?
I just think he's a nice friend. That's all.
We also made it to the village. We found a strange man. His na--
Koji stood still for a second, turning the page once more. He couldn't read it, it was completely covered in dry blood.
No one said anything as he flipped through the pages. Every single one was unreadable.
Finally he got to the end, a white piece of paper tapped on it.
Iki's dead.
Someone killed him.
I captured the killer and tore off his nails.
I pulled out his teeth.
I cut off his fingers.
I took out his eyeballs.
He died seconds after that.
I didn't stop though.
I cut off his legs.
I cut off his arms.
I cut off his tongue.
How dare he.
How dare he take Iki's life.
Iki told me right before he took his last breathe.
He said he'll come back. And we can turn this awful world into a paradise.
But while he said that.
For the first time.
Iki's face had bloodlust in his eyes.
-
I created a monster.
I was bored.
I was lonely.
I used black magic to create a demon dog.
I use Iki's body to do so.
Maybe that'll help him come back to life.
-
This demon dog is too strong.
I can't defeat it.
It's gonna kill me.
-
I ran. I left the demon dog and ran.
I'm going to create a league. Like Iki wanted.
I'll get good fighters and we can defeat this demon dog.
I realized how insane I was after Iki's death.
All I can say is I'm sorry.
If you're reading this I'm dead. Or happen to get in my office and take it. But I doubt that.
I'm sorry about this mess I created.
I'm a messed up person.
I'll burn in hell for my sins.
But please.
Please forgive me...
Koji closed the book. Everyone was silent.
Finally, Luna spoke up. "We better go to bed. Tomorrow is the day."
Chester sighed. "The information is good to know..."
Koji sighed and nodded. His eyes beginning to water up. "Let-let's hope Alja and Bradley return soon..."
Everyone nodded, leaving everyone behind to do their own things. However, Lily and Koji stayed in the room.
"...here." Koji pushed the black book over to Lily, the book still open on the page with Sonia's necklace.
Lily smiled weakly. "Thanks." She looked at it and started reading, even when she finished reading it she reread it over and over again.
Koji finally grabbed Lily's hand, pulling her into a hug. "I know... This isn't fair to you.... You didn't properly choose who you loved more." His voice cracked.
Lily slowly wrapped her arms around Koji, she slowly started to cry. "First Sora. Now Sonia... Koji, what if I lose you too?"
"No... You won't... I'll live. I promise. Sonia didn't give up his life for me to die."
