Toriel and Asgore are now at the top of the mountain, almost at the entrance. Until both of them feel rumbling beneath their feet. Asgore immediately says to Toriel, in a loud roaring voice of panic. "LOOK OUT!"
Toriel looks above them both and sees massive amount of rocks, especially large ones coming their way. Asgore grabs her and they start heading down the mountain as fast, as they can. The rumbling happens again, only now as they can both recognize as an earthquake. Asgore and Toriel cannot hold their balance very well.
Toriel's body starts to shake from beneath her. It sinks, creating a massive hole from beneath. Toriel screamed. Asgore, being able to move again, runs in her direction. He managed to grab her, right hand on time. "I GOT YOU!"
Only to feel his grip on her slipping, because of the avalanche happening very close to them both. Tears falling from Toriel's eyes. He shouted. "TORI!"
She yelled out. "ASGORE! P-Please don't let go!"
He replied. "I Won't!" He starts to pull her up. Only for a rock to hit him hard in the back, causing him to lose his grip on her, accidentally letting her go.
Asgore yelled out. "TORI!!!!!!!!!!!"
Toriel feeling herself fall, seeing it. She screams in horror. Tears falling still. She tried to reach for the nearby vines, she yelled out. "ASGORE!!!!!!!"
Screaming more. Toriel starts hitting nearby rocky walls, feeling massive amounts of pain, with each hit she sees brief images in her mind. Images she can't make out, are they memories or something else?
Toriel, before she could grab the vine closest to her, hits something hard beneath her, the moment she did, everything surrounding her glitched briefly. Her hearing starts to go out, vision as well. She hears what sounds like a small muffled voice, continuously for just a moment, it now starts to grow faint.
Now losing consciousness. Her surroundings are large 6 pillars covered in vines. Beneath her are destroyed buttercup flowers and what looks like a nearby wall leading to something. A few minutes later Toriel wakes up, she's in tremendous amounts of pain immediately, she feels tears falling from her face.
She cries out for help but nobody came. She cannot move and just feels weird, like there is something heavy on her, now closing her eyes, feeling nothing but lack of energy. A moment later she manages to slowly get up to see her clothes covered in red liquid and massive amounts of white powder. Its all over her. Even her arms. She screams continuously, the panic of it all, causes her to pass out immediately.
There are footsteps nearby. A voice spoke in a distressed tone. "shit, he is going to be pissed."
The other voice spoke in a raspy tone. "hey, look at her horns!"
The other one replied. "are my eye-sockets playing a trick on me?" The two characters walk from out of the shadows. It is Dust and Horror.
Dust walks on over to her, he leans down and checks her pulse. It's faint. He looks at Horror and says. "go to the lab and get a medical kit! some washcloths! a gown now!"
Horror presses a button on his belt and leaves through a portal. Dust thinks to himself. *your horns are just like your future self now and you're not even his kid yet! guess that means something huh?*
Horror later returns with everything Dust requested. Horror lifts her up with his magic, He turns away and says. "how are you going to clean tori up and change her into that?"
Dust replied. "we're not exactly human, we're monsters, not perverted freaks! but out of respect for her. I have no idea. Ill just try to do this without looking." Dust gets her royal dress off. He ignores anything private and focuses on the cuts,bruises and anything else that counts as a wound of some kind. He also carefully bandages up her horns.
Dust cleans her head,neck,back,arms,legs and tail. He puts the gown on her.
Horror claps. "bravo! you are a pro at not being a pervert!"
Dust growled. "i was only tending to her wounds. besides, do you want gaster mad at us?"
Horror replied. "did you forget? our belts and her necklace record everything...."
Dust replied. "shit, well maybe the reason why both he and temmie are not here. Is because we are helping her."
Horror said. "most likely."
He shrugged. Toriel starts to wake up slowly, her vision is blurred at first as she opens her eyes, her hearing is faint as well. It starts to get back to normal. She sees them and is in too much pain to move.
She tried to speak, but only strange noises come out instead. Horror and Dust's eye-sockets go black for a moment with a distressed expression. "shit, she can't speak.."
Dust replied. "she'll heal once we get her back to the lab."
They both press the buttons on the belts, only for nothing to happen, they make a sizzle noise instead for a moment. They both mumble. "well shit."
They carefully place Toriel back on the ground. She stares at her hands, feeling confused, she looks at them and tilts her head.
Toriel mumbled. "Who are you two? Where am i?" They are silent, in disbelief over what they are hearing.
She mumbled in a raspy tone. "Do you know who i am? Ooooh my head!" She tries to speak out and somehow sounds like herself again, but still raspy, like she has a sore throat, when she does not.
Dust replied. "hes uhh...my twin brother!"
She tilts her head to the side. "Why does he have a hole in his head for? Does he have headaches too?"
Dust grinned, unable to resist. "i don't know why he has a hole in his head, but nah he does not have headaches."
She asked. "Why does he not have headaches for?"
Dust replied. "because he is a headache!"
Toriel laughed. Horror is not amused. His arms are crossed.
Dust speaks out to Toriel in a serious tone. "look, actually you are someone important, you are a queen. but not just any queen. you are the queen of monsters!"
She speaks to Dust with her left eyebrow raised. "Monsters?"
Horror replied. "yeah, its what we are!"
Toriel replies. "Oh alright, hmm you both look familiar."
Horror replied. "you are not only our queen, but you are our symbol of hope!"
Toriel replied with an odd expression and tone. "Symbol of Hope? That sounds familiar to me..."
Dust reaches his hand out to her. "here, we'll lead you out of this place. grab my hand. I know a shortcut."
She says in a curious tone. "Do I grab his too?" She looked at Horror for a moment.
Dust says immediately. "no! he bites."
She said in an innocent tone. "He bites what?"
Horror replied. "oh...almost anything!*
She replied. "Really?"
Horror replied with a grin. "yeah."
Toriel looks up and sees above them. Nothing but dirt,rocks above and vines. A bright light, with what looks like a distant giant hole. Brief images go through her mind, images of a giant furry monster in armor. She feels sadden by it and decides to ignore the thoughts.
Dust speaks to her. "hey, are you feeling okay?"
She replied. "Oh sorry, yeah I guess? But I ask again, who am I...Do you know my name?"
Dust replied. "yeah, your name is toriel."
She surprisingly has no reaction. she says. "alright, sounds nice."
Dust replied. "we'll just call you tori."
She responds. "So the Shortcut?"
Dust replied. "to be safe, lets just walk out of here."
Horror snapped. "THAT WILL TAKE FOREVER!" She jumped startled and clanged to Dust. He lightly pushed her off. Not wanting to be touched.
Dust looks up at her with a grin. "you have nothing to fear, he's just a cranky babybones."
Dust chuckled.
Toriel says. "How come we can not use this shortcut of yours?"
Dust replied. "because traveling around here should help with your memory problem."
She replied in a curious tone. "How?"
Horror replied. "we are in a place called the Underground."
Toriel says. "The Underground? That sounds frightening..."
Horror responds. "its more cramped than anything where I'm from."
Dust said in a cold response. "nothing but endless dust and decay for me."
Toriel speaks to them feeling concerned. "Have we met before?"
They both nod.
She spoke more. "Are we friends?*
Horror speaks to her. "close enough, we're your guardians!"
Toriel tilts her head and says. "Are you both raising me?" Their eye-sockets both darken for a moment.
Dust responds. "no."
Horror said immediately. "not that type of guardian! we are your protectors!"
Toriel smiled. "You both sound really sweet then!"
They both laugh immediately very loudly for a brief moment.
Toriel says in a confused tone. "Did I say something wrong?"
Dust replied. "tori, we are not sweet towards other monsters alright? don't ask why. your just different."
She replied. "I won't but I hope we are friends!"
Horror chuckled. "friends with me? good luck with keeping your lim-"
Toriel briefly notices Dust's sudden glare at Horor, but decides to ignore it. They enter the next room to surprisingly not see Flowey but something else. Two small figures, laying against each other passed out.
Dust and Horror both mumbled. "no way..."
Toriel has continuous images going through her mind, she cannot stop looking at what she sees before her. A small human child and goat monster child. With matching green long sleeve shirts that are striped yellow. She walks towards them slowly.
She is in front of them now, feeling a strong emotion, an emotion of happiness and relief. She has tears falling again and she has no idea why, but these children feel important to her. The human opens their eyes slowly to see a monster, that looks like their mom!? Both of the children have these thoughts.
(For some reason two other monsters are with her, they do not trust them immediately.)
The human child, shakes the other child awake. They open their eyes and say. "Chara!? Mom!?"
Hearing their voices, brings back almost all her memories, she ends up remembering them and that she is their mom. She swoops them up from the ground, crying happily. "You're alive!"
They hug each other happily, amazed with their reunion. Chara looks in the Direction of Dust and Horror. they say to Toriel. "Mom, who are they?"
The other child speaks out. "Where is dad? Why are you dressed like that for? AHHHH!!!!!! WHY DOES HE HAVE A HOLE IN HIS HEAD!" They hide behind Chara.
Toriel remembers them both completely now. "Asriel, they are not a threat my child. They are friends, I think? They told me they are my guardians?"
She turns around in confusion towards them and repeats. "My guardians..."
Chara says immediately. "That's new to me! I don't trust them!"
Asriel walks up to them, trying to be brave, remembering who sans is, because of his memories of being Flowey.
He looks up at Dust and Horror. "H-Hi, my name is Asriel Dreemurr. Are you really my mom's friends? I've never seen you before."
Asriel looks at Horror. "What happened to you, mister? Do you need help? My mom is the best nurse!" He laughed innocently but also felt afraid.
Chara quickly runs up to him. They look at them both. "If you both are her friends, why have we never seen you before?"
Dust replied. "that's something complicated, kid. but we mean what we say."
Toriel thinking on that one word Asriel mentioned. *Dreemurr.*
Images of Asgore come into her mind and she slowly starts to remember him. She looks at Asriel. "Your father is Asgore...We, both love each other. He-above."
She looks at the ceiling and gasps with tears. "A-Asgore..." She remembers everything now..
She looks at Dust and Horror with a serious expression yet thankful as well?
She smiled. "Thank you for saving me...Again."
She looks down at her children.
Her smile widened. She looks back at Dust and Horror and says. "How my children are alive again, I do not know but I have one guess. The Savestar."
Asriel hearing that, is very focused, his face looks upset suddenly. Chara is confused and clueless on what The Savestar even is. But it has their full attention.
(I want this to be different. A Chara who never used The Savestar or even has knowledge of it. They never got too or would ever even think to do so. This Chara truly loves Monsters and their adopted family. The hate with humans is for real/canon.)
They speak to Dust and Horror and ask. "What is a Savestar?"
Dust responds with a chuckle. "you're kidding right? you truly don't know?"
They nod. Both he and Horror are surprised.
Horror says. "gaster was right about you kiddo."
Chara feeling annoyed. "What is going on and what's a Gaster!?"
Asriel, feeling confused as well, acts the same way. "Yeah tell us what is going on! But first, where is our dad?"
Toriel feeling sad, fearing the worst. She looks at Dust and Horror. "Please do your shortcut."
Dust nods. Toriel puts her right hand around her two children and her left one on Dust's back. He snaps his fingers and they are outside The Mountain, below it. Toriel and her children see a familiar figure. Toriel feeling relief. She sees Asgore. He's leaning against a tree.
Undyne is with him. Sans and Papyrus. Dust sees their Papyrus, he feels nothing but mixed emotions.
Everyone sees Dust and Horror. Asgore says this, the moment he sees both Dust and Horror.
They are the first that he sees. "You two must be allies of Gast-"
He stops speaking the moment he sees Tori and somehow both of their Children. He cannot believe it. Asgore slowly starts to run over towards their direction, he nearly falls. Until both Undyne and Papyrus grab him. Sans almost attempts to help, but sees they both have Asgore.
He looks for a moment at Dust and Horror. His eye-sockets are black. But seeing as Toriel is safe and alive somehow. He did a thumbs up their direction.
Not to mention somehow The Children of the King and Queen are back. Sans looking at them both, sees they are the cutest sight he has ever seen since, Papyrus was just a babybones. He did a brief quiet chuckle. His focus is instantly back on Asgore.
Dust is heavily focused on Papyrus. Tears form, he rubs them away. He attempts to leave this universe. He pushes the button. Horror does as well. Nothing happens still. Toriel noticing it. Has her right hand out with her necklace.
She says in a kind voice. "Here, use my necklace. Maybe it will bring you back."
Dust replied. "nah we can't do that."
Horror responds. "hey since this records everything, maybe gaster will show up somehow and fix our belts."
Toriel speaks to them. "I am sure he will later. But seeing as you both cannot leave at the moment, want to come with me to my home?"
Horror replied immediately. "you're kidding right?"
Dust replied. "i rather not." He stares at Chara for a moment. Feeling a lack of trust, he looks at papyrus feeling sadness and guilt.
He sighed. "fine, but don't expect us to be the best guest you ever had." They head towards the town together to be greeted by Teish and Pete.
