Everyone becomes silent as soon as Nancy joins the table. This was the third day since her arrival, and it was the first time she had joined them at the table.
She had little conversation with them, particularly Science. It was very awkward when April saw her, it seemed like she was a ghost. Sincerely, judging from her actions, anyone could believe that information.
"Why are you staring at me, Dumlesi? Do you have anything to say to me?" Nancy asked out of the blue, not seeming to be interested in her food. April feels as though there will be conflicting reactions and abruptly loses her appetite.
"Pardon?" Dumlesi asks.
"Yeah. Since you were the one who started the ghost thing. Yes, I told you I was in the hospital, did you expect me to die?" April is intrigued by this statement. She gives Dumlesi her full attention. And the fact that it was the first time she had seen Nancy have a direct conversation piqued her interest.
"Dumlesi. You knew she was sick?" Nancy asks directly. Meanwhile, Dumlesi drops her spoon.
"She visited me at home, after she left that Saturday. I was rushed to the hospital." Nancy says.
"Dumlesi. But you said you don't know anything about Nancy, her parents, home. In fact anything about her." April felt compelled to contribute.
She also noticed Dumlesi had not said anything. She did not even attempt to defend herself.
"Dumlesi. Why did you start the ghost issue?" Nancy asks not losing eye contact with Dumlesi.
Before they could say another thing. Dumlesi was already on her feet. She picks up her food and walks over to another table. April stares at her wondering what was wrong with her.
She watches Nancy face her food without saying anything else. Trying to face her own food. She hears a loud noise, as if someone had fallen.
She immediately turns to face the direction of the sound; she had no idea when she stood up. To her surprise, she saw that Light was having trouble breathing.
"What is wrong with him?" Science inquires immediately. The cafeteria suddenly becomes extremely rowdy. April feels Science pull her over to the scene unexpectedly. The sight of Light struggling for breath shook her; she suddenly tasted salt in her mouth, and she realized she was crying.
"Light. Where is your inhaler?" Flourish who was on her kneels asks? You could see the fear in her eyes.
"I haven't seen him with any inhaler since we got back!" Nimi says this while rummaging through Lights bag.
That was when it dawned on April that he was a asthmatic. But she couldn't ever recall seeing him with an inhaler. Before she could think of something else. She could see both Senior Wealth and Goriola. That is when it clicked. The resemblance was profound, but she never noticed it. Wealth had a fair complexion. Light, on the other hand, appeared to be of mixed race.
"Lift him!" was the last thing Wealth said. In a matter of minutes. Light had been moved out of the hall.
"I never knew he had asthma," Science confirms.

"Wait! So Precious you have been seeing my boyfriend behind my back all this while?" Boma couldn't believe what she had seen faces, Precious. They were inside the dorm. Most students weren't in.
Wendy who was tired of trying to stop whatever was going on finally gives up. Meanwhile, Darlintina watched without uttering a word.
"Boma, leave the way!" Precious who seemed like she wanted to leave the room says with a raised eyebrow because Boma was standing in her way.
"If I don't?" Boma says not moving. "What kind of friend are you?"
"Are you his wife?" Precious asks sharply. The slap she received made Wendy and Darlintina suddenly speechless. It was thunderous. Precious who was still in shock holds her cheek in the process.
"You girls should be ashamed of yourself. Fighting because of a boy." They knew the only person with that voice and also capable of making such a statement. The four friends turn over to Bright bunk. With the wat Bright peered at then, you could tell she had been watching the drama all along. She had this calm smile on her face.
"Bright. I am sure you know there is no one here who can save you from me currently. Better pocket that garbage you call a mouth. Because I will give you the beating of your life this moment." Boma who looked angered faces Bright. Meanwhile, Precious uses the opportunity to walk out. She knew she didn't stand a chance in fighting Boma.
"Boma. You don't scare me!" Bright fires.
"If only she knew they are fighting because of her boyfriend, " Wendy whisper directly into Darlintina's ears.

Immediately April and Science step in with the nurse. April allows her eyes to bulge out. Wondering what Nancy was doing with Light. They seemed too engrossed in their conversation. She even noticed Nancy was smiling.
Which was very unusual. She could not help but wonder when they had become friends. They did talk whenever they were in the cafeteria. Nonetheless, it was casual. Although she had noticed Light was constantly trying to get Nancy to speak. Either by handing her something, putting on her glasses, or asking her specific questions. Apart from that, she had never seen them so close together.
When their gazes locked, she saw the shock in Nancy's eyes.
"How are you feeling now?" The nurse asks.
"Better!" Light responds while he sits properly. April caught the smile he flashed at her, and she smiles right back.
"Always keep your inhaler with you. You are aware of how unforeseen and inevitable this is." The nurse states.
I have been taking my medication on a regular basis. I thought I was getting better because it has not bothered me in a while." Light responds.
"Which stage are you in?"
"Mild, persistent asthma." Light responds. All the while, April listened carefully, not missing a word.
"Try to manage it, we don't want it getting to Moderate persistent asthma or severe persistent asthma. Always take your drug and don't forget to always move with your inhaler," The nurse says while she takes down some notes. "If you feel uneasy. Call my attention." She says.
"Thank you!" Light responds. Meanwhile, the nurse checks his temperature.
"Are you still having shortness of breath?"
"No ma!"
"What about chest pain?"
"I am feeling better." Light responds. The nurse walks away, not after giving him an assuring smile.
"How are you feeling now?" April asks almost immediately, while she joins him on the bed.
"Better." Light smiles.
"Never knew you were going through such. Get well soon." April says while she takes him by the hand.

Immediately Wendy comes face to face with her brother, she shuts the book he seems to be reading almost immediately.
"Kenneth. You now read?" Wendy asks. Kenny smiled slightly as he looked up at her. Because of Wendy's approach, he knew something big was going on, and he was the cause.
"How do you expect me to get good grades if I don't read?" Kenny asks with a raised eyebrow.
"You never cease to amaze me. I always find you doing some amazing things." Wendy scoffs. "Why did you cause a rift between my friends?" Wendy asks with a glare.
"Pardon? I don't understand." Kenny asks with an innocent look on his face. Wendy knew her brother just too well, she could tell when he was acting.
"You know, you can't pull such a stunt on me, is it not enough that you are playing with Boma's feelings already, why go for Precious? Been aware they are friends, not just friends but my friends?" Wendy asks rushing her words.
"Who wouldn't go for a good thing?" Kenny retorts. "Wendy, I am not married to anyone, I have the right to date or have sex which whosoever I want to!" Kenny says.
"Not at the expense of playing with people's feelings. If there is one thing i am sure of, it's the fact that Boma loves you." Wendy says in a sober mood.
"Her cup of tea."
"Kenny. What if someone else was doing this to me, how will you feel?" Wendy asks.
"I know you aren't that stupid. But God knows I will fuck that person's life up." Kenny says with a straight face.
"Kenny, they are someone else's sisters too. And also you shouldn't contact STD!" Wendy says with an irritated look on her face.
"I am not so stupid to go into those holes without condoms."
