We're almost there, guys! I've been waiting for what comes next... 😅
(Y/r) = your reason

"That's a nice trick you did but it's not enough to stop me."
Y/n blasts a beam at the drone. It glitches lavender, transforming into a radio from the 80s and dropping to the floor. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor plays on the radio and Beck lightly gasps when he witnesses this. He taps the radio with his foot and realizes it's not just an illusion, y/n actually changed it. He sharply turns to her. The girl rips her mask off so he could see the smug look on her face.
"Please, your illusions are child's play. You should see mine."
The man frowns before he looks down, chuckling and shaking his head. "I seem to recall fooling you with my illusions," he argues.
The girl shrugs. "I'm not denying it, but I stand by my statement. You're done, Beck."
"Yeah?" Beck asks. Suddenly, a drone appears on either side of him and he smirks. "Okay, big mouth. Let's see if my 'child's play' technology can still fool you."
Y/n rolls her eyes. "Says the guy who talks too damn much. Just shut up and give me the glasses," she retaliates. However, before either of them can do anything, an explosion occurs. This makes them both stumble around as they feel everything shake around them. The shaking finally stops and they steady themselves when Spider-Man suddenly swoops in, breaking the glass Beck is standing on. He lands with his feet on the ceiling and grabs Beck by the shirt, punching and cracking the transparent helmet he's wearing.
Y/n is stunned by her boyfriend's sudden appearance but she's happy to see him. "Your lies are over, Beck," Peter states as he holds onto the man.
"This certainly isn't ideal but I have contingencies. EDITH?" the man voices. Peter looks up, seeing a drone in front of him. Y/n's eyes widen and she's about to blast it when another drone fires at her, the one in front of Peter firing as well. They're both thrown back, skidding across the floor until they finally land. Peter coughs while the girl groans. They both quickly scramble back to their feet, y/n helping the boy when she sees him holding his ribs.
"Just give us the glasses," the boy calls out.
Beck reaches into his jacket and pulls out the EDITH glasses. "You want these?" he asks. Many drones start coming in from the windows, surrounding him. "Come and get them." Blue lights radiate from the drones before they disappear. The whole hallway turns black, the only thing in sight being green mist on the floor. Man, this dude is so annoying, y/n thinks. She grasps Peter's arm, making him look at her.
"Is your Peter-tingle working now?" she whispers.
"Uh... we're about to find out."
The girl nods. "You got this. Keep him busy," she responds.
Peter nods. "I got this, I got this," he whispers. He shuts his eyes and inhales a breath. "Come on, Peter-tingle," he mumbles before exhaling heavily. Aww, he finally accepted it, the girl thinks. With that, Peter releases a grunt and springs into action, using his senses to take down the drones. Meanwhile, y/n teleports out of the hallway. She ends up on the roof of the hall Spider-Man and Beck are fighting in. Okay, that worked, she thinks, sighing in relief. She knew the illusion would probably only work inside where the drones are.
Her hands radiate lavender as she floats down to peek through the window, seeing Beck at the end of the hall surrounded by drones while Spider-Man is destroying the ones attacking him. She grins proudly as she watches Peter. She's glad he got his spidey-sense back. Her eyes are pulled back to Beck when she notices him yelling angrily. The drones around him suddenly zoom toward Peter. Y/n forms a big orb of magic in her hands and fires it at Beck, breaking through the window. The blast hits Beck, throwing him back into the window behind him before he collapses to the floor.
Peter destroys the last drone and y/n poofs back into the hall, landing in front of Peter. She takes his masked face in her hands and asks, "are you okay?"
The boy lightly groans but nods his head. "Beck!" he suddenly yells before ripping his mask off. He limps over to the man laying against the wall with y/n in tow. "Beck," he calls again before they finally reach the man. "You lied to me. To us. And I trusted you."
"I know. That's the most... disappointing part. You're good people, Peter and y/n." He shuts his eyes and pants before proceeding, "Such a weakness." Something about this doesn't feel right, y/n thinks. Beck holds the glasses up to Peter. "Stark was right. You do deserve them."
Y/n doesn't have a spidey-sense but her instincts tell her that this isn't the real Beck. Peter senses it too, swiftly lifting his arm and catching Beck's invisible wrist next to him. A gun goes off when he does and the fake Beck's body flops as if he got shot. Y/n and Peter turn to their right, seeing the real Beck appear while the fake one disappears in blue pixels. Peter twists his wrist to make him drop the gun. "You can't trick us anymore," y/n declares.
Peter swipes the glasses off of the man's face. Beck stumbles back while Peter rapidly puts the glasses on and looks out the window. "EDITH, turn off the drones!" he yells, his voice cracking.
"Biometric scan complete. Welcome back, Peter," the AI voices. "Shall I execute all cancellation protocols?"
Y/n stands next to the boy and she turns around to look at Beck when she hears him groan. He's lying on the floor with his knees to his chest and the girl wonders if he's actually injured. "Just-" Peter commences, panting. "Do it. Execute them all," Peter finishes his sentence. He turns to y/n, who nods at him.
"Confirmed."
All the drones begin to float away, no longer surrounding the city. Y/n feels a sense of relief when she sees this. They actually did it. They saved everyone. She can hear Tony and Steve in her head now, which makes her smile. Peter lightly chuckles as he watches the drones leave. "Thank you," he whispers to EDITH before looking at the girl, smiling tiredly. The girl grins back before turning to eye the man on the floor. Peter turns around as well, taking off his glasses. "How could you do all of this?" he questions.
"You'll see, Peter... and y/n." Beck takes a few breaths before continuing. "People, they need to believe. And nowadays... they'll believe anything," he mutters. He goes quiet, not even a breath sounding from him. The teens share a look, both wondering the same thing.
Peter places the glasses on his face and asks, "is he...? Is this real?"
"All illusions are down, Peter," EDITH confirms.
Peter takes the glasses off again as he continues to stare at Beck's body. Y/n observes him curiously. "Is he dead?" she softly asks. The boy turns to her and nods. The girl feels a chill go through her body. She never imagined this ending with Beck's death. She thought he'd get arrested and tried for his crimes.
"Let's get out of here," Peter whispers, to which the girl nods.
They start walking– well, y/n's walking fine but Peter's limping badly– until y/n suddenly halts. "Wait, I got you," she tells the boy, grabbing onto him and teleporting them out of the hallway. They end up on the bridge where there is fire and many abandoned cars. "Now you have less walking to do," she claims. She's not sure where exactly they're headed but at least Peter avoided extra steps.
The boy chuckles, his eyes twinkling as he gazes at the girl. "Thanks," he tells her.
"Of course," y/n responds. She frowns as she studies the blood on his face. She sighs and comments, "We gotta get you cleaned up" as she takes his face in her hands. "At least your hair still looks good."
Peter laughs at this. "That's very important."
"Very important," the girl repeats, setting Peter's arm around her shoulders to support him as they walk.
"You still look flawless, by the way," the boy flirtatiously claims.
"Mmm. Bruises and blood are all the rave in Europe right now, didn't you know," y/n jokes.
"Well, then we're following the trend perfectly," Peter responds. They both laugh. They glance up and spot MJ running toward them.
"MJ," y/n utters as her friend runs up to them. She carefully lets go of her boyfriend to run to her best friend.
"Hey. Hey," MJ greets. "Are you okay?" she asks as she runs into y/n's arms.
"Yeah, I'm good. We're good. What about you?" y/n returns.
"Yeah."
The two girls let go of each other and y/n asks, "Is everyone else okay?"
MJ nods and confirms, "Yeah, everyone's okay."
The other girl sighs in relief. "What happened?"
"T-there was just the drones, and they were following us, and t-then they just stopped," MJ babbles, slightly stuttering. "Was that you guys?" she asks, looking between the couple.
"Yeah," they answer simultaneously.
"Did you get him?"
Y/n and Peter look down, feeling a bit upset. "Yes," the girl answers. Neither of them killed him or desired to, but Beck died anyway. It was his own doing.
"Well, I, um... brought that," MJ pipes up, pointing to the morning star mace on the ground behind her. She turns back to the pair and claims, "in case you needed some help."
"Ah, man, and now I don't get to see you in action with it," y/n playfully utters, feigning disappointment.
MJ shrugs. "Eh, maybe during the next drone attack," she jokes, making the other two chuckle. "Anyway, uh, there was this sweaty guy in the tower with us. I think he like works for you guys or something," she mentions as she digs into her pocket. The couple shares a puzzled look. I think she means Happy, y/n thinks. MJ takes a necklace out of her pocket, looking down at the broken glass pendant. "He gave me this. Told me to hold onto it for you since I'm your friend," she says, looking at y/n.
Peter's eyes widen and y/n gives MJ a baffled look. "Hm. It's not mine though," she responds. MJ glances at Peter knowingly, making y/n follow her line of sight. She notices Peter's nervous expression, making her more confused. "What?" she asks.
"Um..." Peter chokes out, taking the necklace from MJ. He sends her a look and she gets the hint.
"I'm gonna... head back to the class. I'll see you guys later," she speaks up, backing away. She picks up the morning star and adds, "just in case" before finally taking off.
Y/n watches her skeptically before turning to her boyfriend. "What was that about?" she chuckles.
"Right, um... the necklace... the necklace is, um... i-it's yours," Peter stammers. The girl knits her eyebrows together. "I... bought it for you... in Italy," he admits. Y/n's face softens, remembering how he didn't want to show her what he had bought in Italy.
"You did?" she asks, smiling softly.
"Yeah, I-" Peter cuts himself off when he notices that the glass flower pendant is broken. "No! No!" he freaks out.
"What's wrong?" the girl asks. Peter shows her the necklace in his palms and the girl holds onto his hands as she gazes at it. She can't help the enamored look in her eyes as she looks at the boy's face. This is just so sweet. She also notices the raspiness in his voice right now. She knows it's due to him losing his voice during the fight but he sounds so cute. That plus the sweet gesture is driving her wild.
"Oh, y/n, I'm so sorry. I had this plan, this stupid plan."
"Peter."
"And I wrote it all down. I was gonna buy you this and give it to you in Paris at the top of the-"
Y/n smashes her lips onto his, cutting off his rambling. The kiss is filled with so much passion and desire. It's a lot more intense than any kiss they've ever shared. The girl tangles her hand in Peter's hair and he wraps his arms around her waist, pulling her super close to him. They finally pull away, their faces still mere centimeters apart. They both beam as they gaze into one another's eyes, feeling like they're on cloud nine. "I love it," the girl mumbles.
Peter's grin broadens. "Really?" he whispers back.
Y/n nods. "Mhm. It's a (y/f/f), right?"
"Yeah," the boy confirms, chuckling lightly.
"My favorite flower... because (y/r)."
"(Y/r)," Peter says at the same time. Y/n gives him an impressed smile.
"Wow, Mr. Parker, you know me well," she remarks, quirking an eyebrow.
"Well, of course I do, Miss Sinclair," Peter responds, making them both laugh. "Sorry it's broken."
The girl shrugs. "It's fine. I still really like it... because you gave it to me," she sincerely utters, grinning sweetly.
Peter nods as he gazes at her adoringly. His heart is hammering in his chest. "Y/n, I..." he trails off. The girl looks at him expectantly. This is going so perfectly, I don't want to ruin it. "I'm really glad you like it," he finally says, smiling softly. "And I'm glad you're here. You make me so happy," he expresses.
Y/n melts at his words. A smile graces her lips. "You make me happy too." They both gleam before leaning in for another kiss. They hug each other tightly once they break the kiss, finding comfort in each other's touch. "Come on. Let's go get cleaned up," y/n pipes up.
"Yeah," Peter agrees. They pull out of the hug and start walking again.
