I am so hyped for NWH omg, the trailer had me screaming!!

Y/n's POV:

"Uh, it is me, or is that not normal?" I question when I notice the water gurgle up from the sewer then drain.

"I don't think so," Peter answers. I turn my attention back to the water, seeing the waves become more noticeable and aggressive. They move toward the center of the body of water before going dead for a second. Huh, well, that's weird. Out of the blue, there's a huge eruption in the water, causing people to shriek in fear. Peter grabs onto my arms as we stumble back a bit in shock. Huge waves flood our surroundings and topple boats over. I glance up to see Betty and Ned screaming as their gondola heads in our direction and crashes into the door beside us.

"Betty!" I shout as we hurry to them.

"Are you okay?" Peter asks her as we help her out of the boat. Meanwhile, Ned scrambles out while MJ hops over the boat to get to our side.

"Yeah," she assures us. She runs toward me and grabs my hands, MJ approaching us to make sure she's alright.

"Come on," Peter urges Ned as he helps him. All our heads snap to the side, the rising and swirling water coming into view.

"Guys, we gotta go!" Betty frantically yells.

The water forms into the shape of a person and lets out a deep groan. I watch with an astounded look on my face. I just wanted a vacation and now there's a water monster I have to deal with?? I face the girls and order, "Go! MJ, get her out of here! Go!" I nudge them with my hands and Betty tries to leave but MJ doesn't budge.

"What about you?" she worriedly asks.

"I'll catch up, just go!" I command but they don't move, even though Betty desperately wants to. MJ plants herself like a tree and shakes her head, giving me a scared look. I love that she's concerned about me but she really needs to go.

I sigh. "Hold on," I utter before going over to the boys, who are caught up in a conversation of their own.

"I left my suit in the hotel room," Peter tells Ned as they're latched onto each other's arms.

Ned stares at Peter with a terrified expression. "Why???" he asks in a high-pitched tone.

"Because I'm on vacation, Ned! Everyone's gonna see my face, just get them out of here," Peter hisses through gritted teeth. He pushes Ned in my direction, who stops when he sees me.

"Please tell me you have your suit!" he panics, gripping my arms.

I place my hands on his shoulders and look him directly in the eyes. "I got it covered, just please go, okay?" Ned eagerly nods and runs off with Betty and MJ. Peter and I turn to each other and share a look. We both know we have to stop the monster. People run and trip around us so we help them up.

"Get out of here! Go!" Peter urges a man as he gets him out of the way. We spin around and see the water monster raise its arm, about to drop its fist onto us. "Oh, my God, go!" Peter shouts, pulling me with him.

"Shit!" I react as we run and hide behind the corner of the building behind us. Peter puts his arm around my shoulders and we lower our heads right when the water roughly splashes. He holds me protectively against the wall as we wait for the water to stop. It soon goes away so we let go of each other and peek around the wall, spotting the creature attacking the city. Peter quickly puts on and activates his web-shooters while my suit magically replaces my regular outfit. He glances at me with a skeptical look on his face.

"Wait, won't people question how Amethyst is in Europe so fast? What if our class figures out it's you?" he pipes up. He makes a valid point but I can easily take control of the story.

"Well, I can teleport now," I point out.

Peter just tilts his head. "True," he agrees. A nervous yet ready expression forms on his face as he gazes at me. "Let's go," he voices. I nod and Peter takes a deep breath before rapidly turning around the corner and shooting a web at the creature. It does nothing, baffling Peter. I walk up next to him and give him a bored look.

"What did you think that was gonna do, genius?" I mock.

"Shut up," Peter responds. All of a sudden, a chorus of screams is heard, making us whirl around. We see a bridge crowded with people and immediately know that's the creature's next target.

"Oh, no, you don't!" Peter remarks as we take off in that direction. He starts hopping on the posts sticking out of the water while I fly into the air. Peter makes it onto the bridge and helps a person who fell while I zoom toward the monster. It swings its fist at the bridge where Peter is standing so I quickly land in front of him, forming a giant lavender-colored shield with my hands, causing the monster to punch that instead. It growls and punches the shield again but I don't budge.

Suddenly, a flash of green light hits its shoulder, making it roar loudly and shift its focus away from me. I drop the shield and look up curiously. Another green beam hits the monster. I turn to Peter, who looks as confused as I am. My eyes wander behind him when I see a figure flying toward us. My eyebrows knit together, causing Peter to turn around as well. Green smoke trails behind a man with a crystal ball for a head as he soars through the sky. He stops, hovering at the top of the bridge, and projects two green triangles from his hands. "Who is that?" Peter asks.

"I don't know but I'm 98% sure it's not Doctor Strange," I reply. I continue to stare at the mystery man in shock while Peter looks around. He jogs forward, catching my attention. I see him bend down and pick up a jester mask and place it over his eyes before turning to me. He raises his arms up as if to say: what do you think? "Not a very good disguise but it'll have to do," I opine. Peter frowns a bit then shrugs.

The monster swings at the man, water shooting from its arm. The man flies all around it and blasts green beams at it. He exerts a big amount of green energy, struggling to push against the creature. The creature wins, shooting the man back and making him crash into a boat. "I should help him," I declare before taking off into the air. The monster roars and giant swirls of water start rising all around it as it grows. I raise my arms up, magic glowing in my hands. Purple swirls appear around the rising water, forcing it back down. It works for a moment until the water seems to be going back up through my magic. What the fuck? Why does that look like a video game glitch?

I stop and eye the creature. I have to destroy this thing. I bring my hands in front of me, forming a bright lavender ball in my hands. I separate my hands, my right hand moving up while my left hand goes down. The ball remains centered while streaks of lavender connect from it to my hands. Purple magic forms in the monster's body and in the raging waves around it. I slowly push my hands together, causing the waves to die down. The creature begins to fall apart but at times it appears to come back together, almost as if it didn't just fall apart. That's weird, how is that happening?

All of a sudden, I feel something bump into me hard, knocking me down. I lose my hold of the magic and fall into the water. I swim to the top and get onto the sidewalk. I look around to make sure no one's around before removing my mask to let out the trapped water. Water pours from it and I gasp for air. I stay on the ground for a moment as I catch my breath before shaking the mask in hopes of drying it a bit. That's when I remember I have magic. "Can't I just..." I mumble, thinking of how I want to get dry. Purple magic runs over me and just like that, I'm dry. I scoff in surprise. Woah... I can't believe I didn't know I could do that all this time.

I place my mask back on and stand up, turning around to see the mystery man fighting the creature again. Did he knock me down? It better have been an accident. I shake my head and take off into the sky again. "Excuse me, sir!" I hear Peter's voice. The man turns toward Peter, who's hanging on the roof of a nearby building. "I- I can help. Let me help! I'm really strong and I'm sticky!" he adds. I snort at this. It's endearing to know that his description of his powers hasn't improved since he met me.

I approach the man and announce, "me too... I mean, I'm not sticky but- I can help."

"I need to lead it away from the canals!" the man informs us before turning to face the monster. It swings at him so he flys away, causing it to follow. I whirl around, my eyes widening when I see the monster coming at me so I briskly turn back around to fly away. As I do, I spot Peter still hanging from the roof. The creature's fist collides with the roof, shattering it. Peter swiftly jumps while I fly and we land on the next roof, watching the creature chase the man.

"You okay?" I ask Peter, gripping his arm.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You?" he returns.

I nod. "Yeah. I'm gonna go get some people to safety," I declare before flying after the monster. It zooms through the water, destroying everything in its path. I move people out of the way and catch falling rubble. Peter follows behind, webbing up said rubble. It starts moving further into the city, where there are a lot more people. I catch up and start blasting it alongside the mystery man. I use the trick from earlier, trying to dissolve the monster until it's just normal water again. Once again, however, the man harshly crashes into me as he zooms by, causing me to lose my hold and fly back.

I steady myself and the man yells, "sorry" as he proceeds to fight the creature. Man, that guy really needs to be careful. Every time I'm close to beating the creature, the man bumps into me or something is thrown at me. It's almost as if he doesn't want me to destroy it. The monster shoots a cascade of water at me, sending me flying back and hitting the ground hard. I remain there, finding it a bit difficult to get up. My vision is kind of blurred and it feels like everything is spinning around me. When I start to feel less disoriented, I slowly sit up but still see stars.

I glance up to see the somewhat blurry image of large clouds of green mist restraining the monster's wrists while the mystery man floats on his own green cloud in front of it. The man strongly opens his arms, causing the monster to split in half and fall into the canal below. I squeeze my eyes shut and open them a few times until my vision finally goes back to normal. The disorientation is now gone so I slowly and carefully stand up and see the man a short distance away from a group of kids from my class. They all cheer and applaud him and I start making my way over to him.

Just as he waves at them and is about to take off, I call out, "wait!" He doesn't seem to hear me because he flies off into the air anyway, leaving behind a trail of green mist. I just stare up at the sky in the direction he went when loud clamoring captures my attention. My head snaps toward the sound, seeing the same kids clapping and cheering for me. A few other people in the area do the same and I look around.

"Yeah, Amethyst!"

"Wooh!"

"Amethyst!"

Flash, who's clearly live streaming, is the loudest among them. He looks at me over his phone as he shouts, "Oh, my God, it's Amethyst! Oh, my God! I love you, Amethyst!" I snort, amused by his commentary. I hear Flash shout, "where's Spider-Man" as I wave at them before poofing out. I land by the wall of a building and scan the area for Peter.

I spot him by a fallen tower and jog over to him. "Peter!" I call out. He glances up and quickly puts something in his pocket when he notices me but I pay no importance to it. We run into each other's arms, I wrap my arms around his neck while he wraps his around my waist tightly. I'm so relieved to see him. "Oh, thank goodness. Are you okay?" I breathe out.

"I'm okay, I'm okay. You?" he asks, sounding as concerned as I am.

I whisper, "yeah" before we pull apart. "Some vacation, huh?" I remark. Peter scoffs and nods his head. Hopefully, that was it and we can go back to enjoying our trip. "I'm gonna have to tell my therapist about this," I sigh. I don't feel like it but if I don't tell her, she's going to find out another way. This is going to be a long phone call...

Okay but imagine y/n and Eleven finding out about the Eternals and being like, "and y'all didn't help us???" Speaking of Eternals, the movie was AMAZING and my Latina ass was so excited to see Salma Hayek in the MCU and I was so happy to find out Lauren Ridloff is Latina too 🥺❤

Also, I fell in love with Druig and now I really want to write a fanfic for him 😩
