(8:43 PM Saturday)
"It's literally nearly nine and she isn't home yet, what's wrong with her?" I said, impatiently.
"There isn't anything wrong with her, you just need to chill," Khloe said, making me give her a side glare.
Kim let out a sigh, "She will be soon enough, Nick, Khloe's right, you need to calm down. You're kind of starting to look like an impatient daddy."
"I AM and impatient daddy!" I yelled exasperatingly.
Khloe pinned her lips together and turned away slowly, making me frown.
"Great, that's exactly what you want to be to get Kendall back," Kim said in her annoying voice, making me roll my eyes once more. "She needs time to love you back, buddy, you can't just expect yourself to be perfect, making her run back to you the minute she sees you."
I glared at her, "I know what to do, Kim, and besides, you don't have to tell me that because I've already tried it myself. She literally took the dumbfuck's side."
Kim frowned, "Who's the dumbfuck?"
"ZAYN!" I yelled incredulously.
Kim and Khloe nodded thoughtfully. "Right, I forget that sometimes," Khloe said, smiling to herself as I scowled.
"Yeah," I said loudly. "Sometimes, I forget whose side you guys are on."
"Hey, we know which side we're on, Jonas, we just think Zayn's much better-looking than you are, you know what I mean," Khloe said, looking at a pot plant of Kendall's.
I arched an eyebrow, "No, I don't know what you mean."
"Just chill about his looks for now, Khloe, you're literally twenty years older than him," Kim said, humorously.
Khloe chuckled, "I just remember, age is just a number."
"Not when the number's twenty," Kim snorted back, making me sigh, irritably. "You ought to try and hit on someone like Brad Pitt or something."
"Ugh, no, don't even get me started on that guy," Khloe said, rolling her eyes dramatically. "I would date Stan Lee if I had the pick between the two."
I checked my wrist watch and sat down.
"Oh, please, Stan probably won't even be in the same league as Brad," Kim said back. "What d'you have against him anyway? I heard from mom he's a really nice guy."
"Yeah, see? That's what I have against him. He might've hooked up with mom, I dunno. There's just this thing about him... don't get me wrong, I love all his movies and stuff, but just the whole Leonardo Decaprio thing's got me all mixed up—"
"What, what're you even talking about?" Kim said, a puzzled look on her face.
"I'm talking about how brad Pitt reminds me of Leonardo Decaprio. Hey, Nick, what d'you think of Brad Pitt?"
I was dozing off, slightly as I shook myself up.
"What?" I answered blankly.
"What d'you think of Brad Pitt?" Khloe repeated.
I was rather taken by surprise by this question because... mainly I wasn't listening to anything they were saying... at the usual.
"I think he's an awesome actor and I love his movies," I said with a shrug, making Kim smile a satisfied smile. "Why are you guys even talking about Brad Pitt, I thought we were supposed to be waiting—"
"Yeah, we are waiting, buddy, she just hasn't arrived yet, so we'll just wait," Khloe told me, checking out the pot plant again. "Besides, do you even have any idea what you're gonna do when she does come home?"
I shrugged, "What's so hard, just tell her that I need to go to the vacay with you guys, and probably force her to tell your mom to practically allow me to."
Kim had a sort f disgusted look on her face, "You're gonna just... do that?"
"Yeah, is there a... problem?"
Khloe sighed, "We were afraid it'd be much harder than that. You better be lucky Zayn is busy," she added, making squirm with discomfort.
"Good point," Kim said. "But we know he won't be here when we talk to Kendall, so there's nothing to be worried about."
Just then, the door cracked open, and I quickly rushed out of my seat, but Khloe had a firm grasp on me.
"You stay here, we'll go talk to her first," she said, making me huffed, childishly.
"Remember, it's all for good reasons," Kim said before hurrying after Khloe.
After a while, Kendall sashayed into the room in a comfortable looking tank top.
She had this really strange look on her face, which sort of defined 'I don't care' so well...
"What up?" she said, smugly.
My eye twitched, "I'm doing great, you?"
"I'm doing awesome. I guess Kim let you in?"
I shook my head, chuckling softly, "No, I broke in. Yes, she let me in," I said after seeing the look of horror on her face. "Just let me talk, OK?"
Kendall sighed and turned to kim and Khloe, "Your idea?"
Khloe grinned, "I couldn't help it."
Kendall rolled her eyes and turned back to me, "Great. Might as well."
I licked the insides of my mouth, suddenly feeling so awkward, "Right," I started. "So I heard from... your sisters, that you and Zayn would be going off to... Palm Springs?"
Kendall squinted, "Yeah, why?"
"Well, that's the thing— I'm not gonna let you go alone with him," I said, quite obviously.
"And what're you to decide that?" Kendall said with that voice again.
"I'm the dad of your first child!"
"Yeah, but I'm not going alone with him, so, you can chill out and just—"
I rubbed my face in frustration, "Can you just oblige with what I'm gonna say and not interrupt me for like— A minute?"
Kendall's eyebrows rose, "Oh, I'm sorry, did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours?"
My jaw dropped slightly, "OK, I have no idea what you just said, but listen— I'm going. I have to," I said, trying to sound innocent and convincing. "I mean, what if you— what if you— you know, lots of things could happen to you while you're there, and I'm not gonna risk anything—"
"OK, chill, I've still got sisters and friends," Kendall said, giving me an obvious look. "You're just the guy that apparently speaks too much."
My jaw dropped all the way, "OK, that was really rude. Who else is going, anyway, I thought this was supposed to be only you and Zayn?"
Kendall rolled her eyes, "Um, yeah, it was until someone decided to blabber about it in the streets!"
I puffed out my chest, "I, on the other hand, am glad they did."
"Yeah, but you know how invading that is!? Like, I don't want you guys with me, OK? I just want a good time, by myself, and the person that makes me truly happy—"
"You've been with him for less that 48 hours, what the heck, Kendall!" I couldn't help but yell. "Do you even know what his favorite color is!?"
Kendall screwed up the end of her mouth, "No, but I don't need to... do I? I mean, didn't even know yours when we were so called 'dating.'"
I scoffed, "Excuse me, we were dating."
"According to me."
"Hey," I said, pointing at her. "We were dating."
"We could've been. It didn't feel like it much though."
I let out a scoffing laugh, "Oh my God— OK, that's great then. The second I try dating, this somehow happens to me. I don't even know if I should get married or not, now."
Kendall nodded sarcastically, "You know, you're right, you shouldn't get married. I'd actually feel bad for whoever does marry you."
I rolled my eyes, "I wonder where you got your sarcasm— is it from that British idiot you've started to rub yourself on?"
Kendall's jaw dropped, "Excuse me? His sarcasm is great, and besides, I didn't start rubbing myself on him, we're building up a great relationship."
I nodded thoughtfully, "Yeah, like how I tried to build up a relationship with you but you made it come crashing down by being selfish. I don't even know what to think."
Kendall scoffed, "Yeah, try thinking about this— you're not the father of my baby anymore, and you're definitely not coming to palm springs, or into my life. Bye, dickface, hope your life starts sucking!"
