Aeriin swore these phone calls was slowly killing her. "She needs to be watched at all times. She's becoming too powerful to just be left alone. You need to collar her, otherwise someone is going to have to put her down."

"I'm not going to kill her when she got that power to save my life!" Aeriin growled into the phone.

"If you don't collar her, we don't have a choice but to get involved. We don't want you to be attacked on all sides but you aren't giving us a choice."

"You think we care? If you attack us you're breaking the treaty!"

"We won't be breaking the treaty when she's collecting powers of other Purebloods who can attack souls. She's going to have the power to over throw us very soon, and we can't allow that. We can't let her become a threat, otherwise its a danger to all of humanity. What if she gives up on her humanity and chooses to attack humans instead?"

"She'll never do that!"

"Morgan has told us she's starting to exhibit traits of going feral. She's loosing herself in the slaughter of demons, what's stopping her from killing us instead?"

"You don't know her like I do."

"And we don't want to. She is an asset and nothing more. If she kills one human, or causes any harm to one, we're going to send hunters to kill her unless you collar her like the animal she is. You are a hunter and she is a Pureblood Vampire."

"If she was a Daughter of Rose would you still treat her like an animal?"

"The Nightshades do not leave Exodious, so yes, we would treat her the same. They don't belong here, and therefor they have to reason to be hunting our people."

"You think you can stop Kaage and Alice Daybreaker?"

"We can because we don't have a choice. They need to die, so we need to hunt them. We'll kill the Daybreakers and any other demon who chooses to come to our world and hunt our people."

"I'm not going to collar her."

"Then you leave us no-"

"You hunt her when she's done nothing but obey everything you have asked of her. She's gone to school even though she's hated the idea, she's stopped me from turning into a werewolf because you'd kill me if I became a demon. If it was up to her I'd be immortal and well on my way to Exodious. But she's remained here with me to protect the humans here."

"The choice isn't up to us. Tame her or send her away. We want nothing to do with their kind, and they've brought their war here for us to deal with. We're not giving you a choice because they've made it so we don't have one either. Good day."

Click.

Aeriin put her phone on her desk and a growl found its way to her chest. She wanted to throw her phone across her room, and make the guild pay for a new one. She put her hands on her head and sighed deeply, trying to calm down.

Ani told her that although she probably couldn't hear it, there was a wolf inside her body that would influence her to unleash her anger instead of hold it back. She had to remain calm in order to control it, but the guild didn't make it easy when all they did was complain and tell her to kill the person she loved.

She sat down at her desk and exhaled deeply before resting her head in her arms as she closed her eyes, leaned against her desk. However before she could relax a gentle hand touched her shoulder. She jumped, not expecting Ani to have come up stairs.

She looked up at her companion and frowned. "You should be downstairs resting. Alice hurt you pretty bad." Aeriin told her.

"I'm fine." Ani shrugged. "You though, look like you could use a nap."

"I probably could honestly." Aeriin rubbed her eyes.

"I heard the phone call by the way." Ani said as she pulled a chair over to sit beside Aeriin where she took her hands. "Just do what he says."

"Why would you want me to collar you?" Aeriin questioned. "We're in this together, I'm not going to put a collar on you Ani."

"I don't want them them to attack us. We can't have them attacking us while the Daybreakers and my mother also attack us from both sides."

"If I put a collar on you they can put a Shade in my body and order you to go back with Zia, or make you Kaage's sex slave!" Aeriin told her. "I'm not going to collar you."

"We can't fight the guild and the other vampires." Ani told her.

"I'm not risking you Ani. Don't make me put a collar on you either." Aeriin warned as she glared.

"I'd never force you to do anything." Ani told her. "If you want to fight the guild, I'll be right behind you, but I'd advise against it."

"Normally I'll always listen to your advice, but I have to go with my heart this time." Aeriin told her. "Did you talk with Darcel and Taraka? They looked scared about seeing Kaage."

"I spoke with them, yeah." Ani nodded. "They're a lot more relaxed now."

"They know you're not the bad guy right?" Aeriin asked.

"I told them that I had no intention of hurting them in any way as long as they cause no harm to humans, or us." Ani told her.

Aeriin couldn't hold back her smile. "You are so perfect."

"How so?"

"You care more about other people than any demon should. You're more human than we are."

"Or so you say. I've got fangs, a craving for blood, and a weird power that lets me copy other people's powers."

"But you have humanity." Aeriin told her as she looked down at her phone. "And they believe you to be turning feral."

"Feral?" Ani questioned. "Born Purebloods aren't able to become feral."

"Morgan told the guild she thinks you're going feral."

"Morgan can kiss my ass." Ani growled. "I'm not feral."

"I believe you." Aeriin said as she looked back up at Ani. "But would that explain the mirror version of yourself?"

"No. If I was going feral, I would be the mirror version of myself, only I wouldn't talk."

"I'm glad you're not then." Aeriin told her. "I don't want anything to happen to you."

"I might not be going feral, but I am insane. That mirror verson of me can put me in a dream while I attack you guys, which could be the same as going feral." Ani told her. "So I don't know what could happen."

"You won't do that Ani, because I can hear your thoughts and force my own in your head. I would tell you it's a dream, and tell you not to do it."

"But how would I know it's you?"

"Why would your mirror self ask you not to kill people?" Aeriin questioned.

"True." Ani nodded.

"Just relax alright? We're gonna be fine. Go back to being your happy, peppy self. Nothing's wrong now, so you have nothing to worry about." Aeriin told her.

Ani couldn't hold back her smile, and she leaned forward and kissed Aeriin gently on the lips. "You should go lay down. You need your rest."

"I think I will." Aeriin nodded then she picked herself up. "Are you going to stay with me?"

"Well you did tell me that you wanted me to rest and recover from my own wound." Ani offered.

"I did say that, yes." Aeriin laughed as she climbed in her bed as she was already in her PJ's because she was going to bed before she was interupted by the phone. She smiled at her companion who crawled in next to her, in her own pajamas. The vampire's cold, but comforting arms wrapped around Aeriin under the blankets and pulled the smaller girl against her body. It felt as though Aeriin fit like a puzzle piece, fitting into all the curves.

"So are we supposed to fall asleep?" Aeriin questioned.

"Well normally you have to be asleep to sleep, but I guess you can do what you want." Ani shrugged.

"You guess?" Aeriin asked.

"I'm not going to force you to fall asleep." Ani laughed. "You can stay awake and be moody if you want to."

"I'm glad you respect my decisions." Aeriin rolled her eyes. "But you have a right to an opinion."

"If we're not sleeping, what do you suppose we do then?" Ani questioned.

"We could get up, or we could have sex?" Aeriin suggested, getting the vampire to glare at her. "It was just a suggestion."

"A bad one." Ani rolled her eyes.

"Ani, I know you would be so careful not to hurt me." Aeriin told her. "So I'm not worried, neither should you be."

"But I am, and I can't just make it go away." Ani answered.

"Do all vampires become bitches when they get into a relationship?" Aeriin asked.

"I guess."

"Well cut it out." Aeriin smirked. "You need to go back to being you, otherwise we're both going to end up strangling each other."

"It would be an improvement." Ani shrugged.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Aeriin glared.

"Normally we just argue." Ani laughed. "But we can try something else if you want."

"Oh?"

"If you promise to let me lead-"

"Deal." Aeriin leaned in and closed the gap between them, kissing her partner with all her passion before undressing each other.

----

Aeriin watched as Ani pulled her shirt back on, hiding the many tattoos on her body. She had a full back tattoo that was a dragon, and on her right arm was a very detailed snake. On her left was a tattoo sleeve rose vine along with more flowers. On her chest was an eagle and the rest of her body, other than her neck where the spider was, was clean.

"So why'd you get all those tattoos?" Aeriin asked.

"I wanted them." Ani answered. "Plus they're enchanted. They can peal off my skin and turn into what they are."

"You have a pet dragon?" Aeriin raised an eyebrow.

Ani laughed. "It's not a real dragon." She explained. "Its created from magic and so can't manifest unless I will it, and even then I have to focus really hard."

"So you can't summon it in the middle of combat?" Aeriin asked.

"I can, It'll just be hard for me to control my own body, and the dragon's."

"You control the dragon's body? It doesn't just obey your commands?"

"No. If it obeyed my commands it would be an actual dragon, but its just a creature conjured by magic."

"That's so cool." Aeriin smiled as she laid back on her bed with a content smile on her face.

"Get up Aeriin."

"I'd rather stay in bed a little longer."

"You're lazier than I am."

"You have inhuman stamina, I don't." Aeriin glared.

Ani laughed at that statement. "I can take you for another ride. I wouldn't even have to undress." A lustful look twinkled in her eye.

"Pass." Aeriin rolled her eyes. "I like how you're back to normal though. Sex make you feel better?"

"Although the sex was fantastic, no. Your words helped." Ani answered with a smile as she stretched her arms out above her head. "I feel fantastic, and the stress is gone. The last part is probably from the sex."

"I bet." Aeriin laughed.

"Seriously though, get dressed." Ani laughed.

Aeriin sighed and pulled herself out of bed, then got dressed. "You're no fun." Aeriin added.

"I know, I'm so mean to you." Ani teased. "I make you put clothes on because we're not the only two people in the house." Ani put an arm over her eyes to add to the drama. "What a world!"

"You're such an ass!" Aeriin shouted.

"I know, I'm totally a dick!" Ani answered. "I make you put clothes on!"

Aeriin was going to retaliate, but another letter exploded into existance on Aeriin's desk. It wasn't a large explosion, but a small one. However it still left a soot stain on the wood of her desk.

"Is is for you?" Aeriin asked.

"Well it popped out in your room." Ani walked over to it and picked it up. "It's sealed with a Rose." She stated.

"What? Really!?" Aeriin asked as she lept over the bed and stood next to her. "Open it, we'll read it together."

Ani tore open the envelope and pulled the letter out before opening it. She took an intake of breath and began to read aloud.

"Dear Aeriin and Anikke. You're formally invited to the Demon's Ball held here in the Human Wold every year. I figured since this year you've become more comfortable around each other that it wouldn't be too hard for you to show up. Be warned that Zia will likely be there, but she will be unable to cause any trouble, for the Ukiya will be the security this year, and Zia knows better than to get involved with them. My daughters will also be there so I doubt anything can go wrong. I hope you show up, and I hope you have a good time. I'll see you there. With love, Rose."

"Rose wants us to go dancing?" Aeriin questioned.

"Do you know how?"

"No."

"Cool, I can stay in my seat.' Ani smiled.

"So we're going?"

"I'd like to. I want to thank Rose for helping me out that time Zia broke into our house." Ani answered. "Do you want to go?"

Aeriin sighed. "It'll probably be fun."

"So that's a yes?"

"Sure thing. Let's go."
