Sunoo's POV
"I'm home" I announced as I entered my home after a quick stop from the grocery store.
"Hi honey, did you buy what I asked you to buy?" my mother asked.
"Yup, here u go," I said as I placed the grocery bag on top of our kitchen counter.
"Thank you, hon, I'll call you when lunch is ready"
I smiled at my mom and kissed her on the cheek before heading up to my room.
I decided to do my morning skincare routine. I wasn't able to do it earlier since I had to go to the grocery store.
As I was doing so I heard a notification from my phone
I checked to see and I saw it was our broadcasting club group chat. they were discussing prom and they were saying how Avery came up with an idea for our preparation.
Once I saw her name in the group chat, I allowed a sigh to escape me.
I haven't talked to her for weeks now and it's all my fault.
It's not that I was angry at her for not kissing me back, I was angry at myself more than anything.
I made her uncomfortable, it was the last thing I wanted her to feel.
So I ignored her because after the incident every time I looked at her I remember my stupid actions.
I closed my phone and put it away as I continued doing my skincare routine.
Just when I was done I heard a doorbell.
I quickly stood up to check who it was since I knew my mom is busy cooking.
"I'll get it"
I made my way downstairs and opened the door to check who it was
Once I opened it I closed it back almost immediately as my eyes widened at who was standing behind the door.
"Sunoo I know you're in there. Please open up"
Avery spoke as she continues to knock on the door.
Panicking, I looked around thinking of what kind of excuse I can say to let her go away
"Think you stupid brain, think!" I whispered to myself.
"You can't come inside," I said loud enough for her to hear
"Why not?"
"Our doorknob is broken"
I cursed myself mentally.
"But you just opened the door? how can it be broken?"
"Oh that was like a few minutes ago but now it's broken"
I looked at my mom and saw how she had a confused expression on her face, I simply smiled at her and did a peace sign.
"Then can I enter through the back door?"
"That's broken too"
"Then how do you get in and out of your house?"
My eyes widened at that
Okay I did not think this through
"Haha totally got you there! Our doorknob is fine, I was joking! What happened is uhh our house is haunted"
I facepalmed myself.
"You see if you come in then u might be possessed. I mean how are u sure you're talking to the real sunoo?"
I cleared my throat before speaking in a deep voice
"Stay away wooooo"
My mom chuckled from behind, making me face her, and placed my index finger over my lip telling her to shush.
"Sunoo how far are you going to go just to ignore me? Please just open the door. I won't take long, I swear"
I sighed once again. I'm not ready to see her.
After mentally debating with myself, I decided to open the door.
She was standing there with her short hair braided as she held a paper bag in front of her.
I took a moment to look at her face. She looks so pretty.
I missed her.
She pulled up the paper bag and smiled at me softly as she spoke
"Ice cream?"
"Only if it's mint chocolate"
She smiled back in response, I reflected on her actions and allowed her to enter.

We were now chilling in my room after eating lunch with my mom and Avery.
It was a bit awkward since things haven't been settled between us, but I know 'the talk' was coming so I prepared myself for that.
I smiled at her awkwardly as we were seated across from each other, enjoying our mint chocolate ice cream
She smiled back and placed her cup of ice cream on the table
"I'm sorry" she spoke
I halt
"I don't know why you're ignoring me, but if it's something I did that I'm not aware of then I'm sorry"
That made me place my cup of ice cream down as well
"It's not your fault" I started
"It isn't, it's just" I halt and looked at her for a moment
She was just seated there, patiently waiting for what I had to say.
My heart ached for a second
"I had a lot in mind after what happened and I wasn't sure how to face you. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable"
"It's okay, besides it didn't mean anything right?" she asked as she held my hand
If only you knew Ave, if only you knew how much it meant to me
"Right" I formed a small smile.
"So does this mean the silence has come to an end?" she asked
"Yes, only because you gave me mint chocolate ice cream" I rolled my eyes jokingly
"Right, so should I go out the window on the way out? you know since your doorknob is broken" she said emphasizing the word doorknob
I burst into laughter and she followed
"Seriously, what were you thinking?" she asked wheezing
I just laughed in response

After we ate some ice cream we decided to watch a movie together.
Me and Avery both like romance so we decided to watch a movie of that genre
We were seated beside each other all nuzzled up with a blanket that we decided to share as we munched on some chips.
We laughed and cried at some scenes, we were enjoying. I missed her a lot, I miss these moments with her.
At the ending of the movie it was silent, I wasn't sure why Avery wasn't speaking so I glanced at her
I saw her sleeping state beside me as she held the blanket close to her.
She must be cold, I thought
I carefully stood up, making sure not to wake her, and adjusted the air conditioner incase she was freezing
I carefully sat beside her once again and stared at her for a moment.
Why can't you be mine? Why can't you look at me the way you look at jay?
I smiled painfully and placed a kiss on her forehead. Then I slowly held her head, allowing her to rest on my shoulder.
I rested my head back as I cherish this moment spent with her. After they'll be official with Jay, I might not experience moments like this with her anymore
she'll be so far away and out of my reach, but if that's what makes her happy then so am I.
As we laid there in silence I decided on one thing.
Let me do this one last thing, after that, I'll give up.
