Believe it or not, the routine is bound to get boring and exhaustive at some point. Taehyung was bearing proof of the above statement. Sleeping; eating; tutoring; studying and overwatch - these had become his everyday life. For sure, that wasn't exactly how he had imagined his summer to go. The season started terribly for him but with each passing days, other students were starting to let him live in peace. The bullying and insults had decreased considerably. A part of him knew that it was because he hanged out once in a while with Namjoon; the latter being someone whom the majority of the student's population liked and respected.

The two males would share a few lunches; even once strolling in the nearby park together; and occasionally, Jimin and Yoongi would join them. Steadily, Taehyung was able to momentarily forget his already tarnished reputation. For sure, the fear and apprehension of going out unaccompanied, braving the corridors or even receiving a notification on his phone, was still embedded within himself. Nonetheless, he was slowly learning to let go. A part of him wanted to believe he was healing though he knew that this specific process would take more time than imaginable. In addition, the feelings he had developed for Jungkook were still as vivid as the day when he acknowledged them.

In spite of the marvelous new person in his life, the young boy still felt suffocated. He lived a monotonous life and he wanted it to change. That was exactly how he found himself at the hairdresser, hair getting bleached and eyes tightly shut. He tried not to think too hard on what he had decided on doing, but it was a hard task when the regular scrub on his scalp and the water that glistened behind his ears kept on reminding him of where he was.

He was regretting not talking this out with someone before. Cutting and dying your hair is a huge step when you've never done so in the past. Park Jimin was a specialist in hair colour and he would have undoubtedly helped out if his best friend had asked him for advice. But Taehyung wanted to surprise him; specially when he was finally leaving for Busan in a few days. The lad was slowly regretting his little surprise. Couldn't he have been like anyone else and buy his pal chocolate or something? What kind of surprise was this even supposed to be? This was more like self-sabotage.

Above all however, Taehyung was changing his hairstyle for his personal benefit. He had heard stories and read online about people modifying their physical appearance in order to bring a boost to their morals. However, he was presently panicking more than boosting anything else.

"Andddd we're done!" The hairdresser exclaimed triumphantly. He was a nice-looking man - maybe in his late 20s and rather sweet. Tattooed and purple hair brought a touch up to his overall Gothic look.
The juvenile apprehended the outcome. It was with a clouded mind and teary eyes that he had made the irrational decision of colouring his hair. He had looked up on the web a few pictures at 3 in the morning, until his aesthetic sense ended up liking one specific style. He didn't even know whether it was going to look good on him. People had told him in the past that his face was so symmetrical that he would be able to pull out anything but his insecure self always doubted it.

The newly physically changed individual heard the hairstylist tatter.
"I think you have to actually open your eyes in order to see your new hair..."
The remark made Taehyung chuckle nervously. He hadn't just dyed his hair blond, had he? A quick blink of the eye confirmed it - he had indeed opted for a dirty blond colour, coupled with a mullet haircut.

He was deprived of words. It actually looked... Good? For sure, this was a huge change from his usual black hair which covered his eyes lightly but he actually found it nice. He placed his spectacles on, in order to see more clearly and was surprised to witness the way the specs fitted perfectly. The chap giggled shyly before running his fingers into the newly dyed locks.
"Thank you." He mouthed. Those words meant more than what they portrayed but that was something the hairdresser could not know.
