Chapter 21

The buns tasted delicious to say it was our first time baking together. We left two for Milly. One with Adam's retarded icing on top and the other with my professional decorations of course.

"Will they let us visit her at this time?" I asked.

It was 9pm.

"Yes, I'm the only family she has."

The car ride was very awkward. This is what I hated. You never know when me and Adam are on good terms or bad terms. It fustrates me! We just frickle frackled a few minutes ago and now the silence begins. I was glad the hospital wasn't far.

Adam was a daily visiter so they automatically let him through. The women glanced at me before Adam spoke up.

"She's with me."

He entwined his fingers with mine.

"That was not nessasary." I whispered, as we walked.

"I know." What all he said.

As we went inside, Milly was laying on her side. It hurt to see all these tubes on such a beautiful little girl. I told myself I wasn't going to get emotional. She doesn't need this.

"Hey princess." Adam whispered as he walked towards her.

The way he speaks to her melts my heart.

"Hi Adam." She smiled, her eyes met mine and she grinned.

I strode towards her and  engulfed her in a big hug.

"You came!" She cheered.

"Of course i came, I've missed you." I touched her cheek.

"Me too."

"We got you something." I sat down beside her.

"Really?" Her cute little face asks in excitment.

I open the plastic box with the two buns inside.

"Cupcakes? Chocolate! My favourite!" She grins.

"My favourite too."

Adam watches us across the room. He smiles at me and his sister.

"So Milly, which one is your favourite cupcake?" I ask her.

"Hmm...that one!" She points at my professional bun.

"That's not fair! You don't like your brothers." Adam whines, making a sad face.

Damn, I just wanna pinch his cheeks.

"I like this one too." Milly picks up Adam's cupcake.

"It's ok, I'm just kidding." He laughs.

We sat for a while just talking about cartoon and princesses. It was 11pm when we were heading out. I really don't want to leave her. I can't imagine how Adam must feel.

"I'll see you soon princess." Adam kisses her forehead.

I hug her and tap her cute button-like nose.

"I'll come back very soon my lovely." I smiled.

"Thank you Flo, for-

"Adam, what did I tell you about thanking me constantly." 

"I know, but it's still not enough." He says, driving the car.

"It's more than enough." I grab his hand.
