"Hey Consuelo, where's Lilac?" Javier asks the moment he comes up to the lunch table Cece was sitting on by herself at the moment. The others were getting their food or have yet to arrive altogether.

Cece looks up from her phone to Javier's face. She clenches he fist, feeling he palms go sweaty and her lips raise up in annoyance, "she doesn't want to talk to you, Rosario."

"I texted her, bebe, she told me to come here."

Cece grows annoyed at what she was called. She narrows her eyes at Javier's statement, "if she texted you, let me see." She extends her hand out.

Javier however takes her hand and kisses the back of it, giving a lopsided smirk, "Why can't you just take my word for it, Priscilla?"

Cece panics, pulling her hand back, feeling her cheeks burn, "because you're a lying snake!"

"Javier, quit getting Cece so red with anger." I growl, pushing him away from the fuming girl.

Javier turns to me, back to Cece, back to me, "Come on, we both know she's turned red from being around my beautiful face."

I blink rapidly and nod unenthusiastically, "right. Of course."

He begins to lean in, "I'm sure I make your heart race as well."

I push my pointer on his forehead, "listen. I really want to eat now, okay."

Javier smiles then begins to chuckle in amusement. I look at him funny. He grabs my hand then gives a pout, "then eat with me today. As a date."

I examine his face, see the genuineness  in it and can't help but laugh, "a school date? Cute."

"I don't hear sarcasm in your words."

I shrug, "I wasn't sarcastic."

Cece watches as I pull my hand away from Javier and feels something yucky grow in her throat.

Javier becomes hopeful, "is that a yes?"

"Cute, but no. I eat lunch with them, not you."

He can respect that, "what about after class?"

"I'm busy."

Javier crosses his arms in disbelief, "with what?"

"I volunteered for charity week."

"You what?" Javier and Cece say at the same time. Cece stands from where she was sitting, "did Gail force you?"

I look to her and shake my head, "No one forced me. I wanted to help. Gail looked desperate."

"That's because she is, Lilac. Being part of the charity week committee is hell on earth. I'd get out while I still can." Javier says in concern.

I knit my brows and turn to Cece who says, "for once. I agree with him."

"OHMYGOSH ARE YOU TWO JOINING HANDS TO GET LILAC TO BAIL OUT ON ME!" Gail suddenly appears, running up behind me and wrapping me in her arms, "she already signed up! It's official."

"You manipulated her, Gail," Cece says. Gail makes a face, "I asked her once!"

"Of course she'd agree, she's your friend," Javier adds.
