"As you can see, the Russains do not take defeat well, which is why--" Mr. Pozwich explained in his discussion.

With my head in my hands, I blinked slowly at our teacher. The entire class had been passive and quiet, as per usual.

Andy, who was sat next to me sighed.

Suddenly he taps my table. I turn to him. He whispers under his breath without making eye contact, "Did you ever get called back?"

I knit my brows, "What? Where?"

Andy's brow quirks up, "By the principal."

For a moment, I just look at him. Once I turn away, I realize what he meant. But before I could reply, he continues, "Judging by the freedom of the kings, I think she didn't."

I hum and turn to my table, "You may not like this, but I think they're changing for the better."

Andy makes an exasperated sound, "I thought you'd say that."

I knit my brows and turn back to Andy, "It's a slow proce--"

"Just because they're nicer to you, doesn't mean they are to others."

I pull back, "What?"

"Lilac Lourdes," he turns to me then back to the board, "who do you think they picked on before you got here?"

Both of our chairs were suddenly kicked.

We turned to the person behind us. Dae-hyun looked like he had swallowed a scorpion, "If you two are done flirting, I'd like to listen to the discussion."

The bell rings. I proceed to get my things and go in out.

"Think about it," Andy whispers before leaving before me.

I exit the room, but get pulled back again. I roll my eyes and snap, "I told you to stop doing that, Dae-Hyun!!"

The said boy is unbothered, "What were you two talking about?"

"That's hardly any of your business."

He clenches his jaw and mutters something under his breath. "What if I want it to be?"

I give a face at his incoherence, "What? Quit mumbling."

"Did he contact you again?"

I sigh at the lack of proper conversation flow. "What are you talking about now?"

"Your ex?"

I freeze.

For a moment there is silence between us.

Dae-Hyun's hardened features slightly shift into concern, "Ya." He calls, grabbing my wrist, "I asked you a question."

I turn down to his hand. There is a foreign and rough feeling against my pulse because of it. I realize it's  because it was wrapped in bandages. I turn back to Dae-Hyun and shake my head, "No."

He raises a brow and lets go of me, "Good."

With that, he turns around and walks away.

"What happened to your hand?" I ask, though I had much more to ask.

Did you beat someone up?

Did you just get yourself hurt?

Did you hurt my ex?

Does your older brother know?

Dae-Hyun stops in his tracks, just for a moment, and continues on, "That's hardly any of your business, Lilac."
